A Chevy Chevette figures importantly in the plot. A character who suddenly appears on the scene in 2008 is linked to the investigation, and eventually identified as Matthew's (Josh Lucas's) surviving son, Luke, because he is still driving the Chevy Chevette that Matthew drove in 1958. It is highly improbable that Luke would still be driving a such an old Chevette in 2008. It is even more improbable that Matthew would have driven a Chevette in 1958, since Chevrolet did not introduce the Chevette until 1964.
