Further proof of Stormy Daniels being underrated as a movie director, "New Beginnings is a fine vehicle for Cassidy Klein in a rites of passage role. Though made for her major label Wicked Pictures, it was absent from IMDb until I added it this week, four years after release.
She's leaving home and mom Kiki D'Aire (quite effective in an unbilled, unglamorous character role) to go to college to study veterinary medicine. She's also leaving behind in her small town of Averly boyfriend Ryan Driller.
College life is difficult as she has little money for board or expenses, and falls in with bad influence Aaliyah Love, friend of her dorm roommate Edyn Blair. Love has a sugardaddy Marcus London, and is soon fixing up Cassidy with hotel magnate Brad Armstrong, as an escort, without making clear to Klein what that entails.
Easy-going film plays like a real movie, as it was shot by Stormy for Wicked Passions, the label's Couples division, from which many a title was licensed to pay-Cable in an edited soft-X version. With Jodi Taylor added to the mix, the XXX scenes are stimulating while tasteful compared to competing gono product, and watching Cassidy's plight is enhanced by a different sort of happy ending than one would expect.
