Work causes a single mother to move to China with her young son; in his new home, the boy embraces kung fu, taught to him by a master.
Producer Will Smith said Jackie Chan was held in such high regard in China that he was able to use his status to help with many aspects of the production, such as getting permission to shoot in certain locations for filming.
Dre, you ready?
The newspaper clipping on the hood of Mr Han's now-beat-up car is covered with pieces of windshield. Dre picks it up, removing the glass. When the camera shows the clipping right after, the pieces of glass are back on the clipping.
The opening and closing credits for the movie are shown in both English and Chinese.
Chinese version was re-edited to make Dre seem like the bad guy, and makes it seem like he started all the fights.
