The future of Sleeping Dogs is questionable at best, particularly after the closure of United Front Games and subsequent cancellation of Triad Wars and the ambitious, embryonic sequel, Sleeping Dogs 2.
But just because a property fails in one medium doesn’t necessarily mean it can’t succeed in another; Deadline is reporting that Original Film and Square Enix – the publishing house behind United Front Games – have struck a deal for a live-action movie based on Sleeping Dogs, and it’s currently courting Chinese superstar Donnie Yen to headline. Best known as the IP Man, Yen has found international success recently through the likes of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and action threequel xXx: Return of Xander Cage – two Hollywood tentpoles that fared remarkably well in China thanks to the inclusion of the actor.
With Sleeping Dogs, Yen will have an opportunity to circle back to his roots. Chronicling the journey of Wei Shen,...

United Front Games took the road less travelled when it announced online open world actioner Triad Wars in lieu of Sleeping Dogs 2.
Built as a spinoff of the Sleeping Dogs universe rooted in the neon-drenched and crime-ridden streets of Hong Kong, the free-to-play title never really got going in earnest and today, the developer mapped out plans to take the game offline.
Having been in closed beta for over a year now, it would seem that the majority of players will never get to play Triad Wars in its final form, with plans now in place to take the offshoot down on January 20. As was revealed by United Front Games on its official page, players who purchased Gold – the in-game currency – will be entitled to seek out refunds by contacting customer support.

Triad Wars isn’t the Sleeping Dogs sequel you’ve been dreaming about, but it is another heaping dose of brutal martial arts action from one of the most refreshing open-world action games of 2012. United Front Games have re-purposed their familiar Hong Kong streets and engaging combat mechanics from Sleeping Dogs for an asynchronous multiplayer experience that differentiates itself by implementing the one thing that instantaneously appalls many gamers: free-to-play mechanics.
Triad Wars’ amalgamation of brutal combat and F2P mechanics begins as you choose from one of three different gang factions: the Shing Wo, Sun On Yee, and the 18k. Each gang possesses their own unique characteristics that influence how you choose to build your empire in the game’s turf manager. This allows players to establish a variety of rackets like extortion and laundering while upgrading their operations to produce income for their empire

Released back in 2012, Square Enix's Hong Kong-set, open world video game "Sleeping Dogs" was not a major hit right out of the gate as it didn't have the kind of marketing push that a "Call of Duty" or "Halo" or "Assassin's Creed" can afford.
What it did have in its corner though was strong critical reviews and great word of mouth, so much so that over 1.5 million copies of the game were sold within a year. Instead of yet another generic American city, the player was able to explore a more exotic contemporary Hong Kong as an undercover cop infiltrating the infamous Sun On Yee criminal organisation.
Now some new photos are out from "Triad Wars," a spin-off which has you the player trying to rise to power as a criminal kingpin of the Triad underworld. This version treads a very different path as instead of a campaign-based action game,...

While many originally pegged the title as a direct sequel to Sleeping Dogs, United Front Games has confirmed that Triad Wars is an open-world spinoff title set within the same Hong Kong universe.
From the footage released thus far, it’s understood that Triad Wars will hone much of the gameplay from its console brethren —including driving and hand-to-hand combat — though the studio has billed the game as an entirely different beast.
“Triad Wars is the flipside of Sleeping Dogs. Sleeping Dogs was about taking you on a ride along that story,” design director Steve Ferreira explained. “Triad Wars is the other side of that. It’s all about Hong Kong and the criminal underworld within Hong Kong. And this is about you creating your own game.”
In the game, players will have begin life as a low level criminal meddling around the neon streets in search of work. Soon,...

United Front Games’ open-world crime caper Sleeping Dogs could be headed to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, if UK retailer ShopTo is to be believed.
The listing, which was first spotted by GamrReview and has since been pulled down, pegged the critically-acclaimed title for a remastered release on November 21st, 2014 titled as “Sleeping Dogs HD”.
Though Square Enix — the publisher behind the game — have yet to comment on this rumour, bringing Sleeping Dogs to a new console generation seems like a no brainer. Much like the revamped Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, the company have the opportunity to thrust the title back into the public sphere to bide the time between now and the launch of its inevitable follow-up.
Initially released in 2012, Sleeping Dogs immediately became a cult hit thanks to impressive voice acting and its stylised sandbox world. It’s also understood that a sequel is currently brewing in...

Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea
A video showcasing the first five minutes of gameplay from the upcoming Dlc "BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode One" has arrived.
It's an impressive clip, taking the Booker and Elizabeth characters and placing them in the underwater city of Rapture from the first game. One difference though, we finally get to see Rapture at its height of power - before it became a decaying pit of horror.
"Burial at Sea" will be available on PS3, 360 and PC. No specific date has yet been announced.
Triad Wars (Sleeping Dogs 2)
United Front Games have confirmed they are working on a new game called "Triad Wars". In a posting on their website, they also confirmed that it's a sibling of sorts to last year's open-world Hong Kong action game "Sleeping Dogs".

A new game set in the Sleeping Dogs universe is coming, and it's called Triad Wars...
Square Enix and United Front Games' Sleeping Dogs was quite the surprise hit last year. The GTA-style open world title that grew out of the remains of the now defunct True Crime series was a great outing that mixed the usual vehicular action and gunplay with some solid martial arts combat. If you'd like more of the action offered by the game, you'll be happy to know that Ufg is currently working on a new game within the Sleeping Dogs universe.
The new game, which has been revealed by Ufg on its website, will be called Triad Wars and will see United Front work with Square Enix once again. There are no other details in the post (in full below), but more details will follow in 2014. Whether the game will be a new,...

It’s funny how things work sometimes, as one of last year’s best games ended up coming back to life from the brink of cancellation doom. Of course, I’m speaking of Sleeping Dogs, United Front Games’ Hong Kong-based sandbox action game, which tasked players with infiltrating a colourful Triad gang. As you may or may not know, it was once owned by Activision Publishing, and was then titled True Crime: Hong Kong. However, the company cancelled it and Square Enix ended up finding gold when it took over the reigns and changed the game’s name to what it is now.
Now, we have word from United Front Games itself, which confirms that a follow-up is in development. However, all we know is that the game is titled Triad Wars, and that it takes place in the same universe. That’s it. There’s no word on...

Martial arts movies can go one of two ways. It can be an intelligent action/adventure with colorful characters and powerful themes of good versus evil or it can be a 2-hour bloodbath with hollow characters, terrible acting and zero plot. The Chinese actioner Triad Wars falls under the latter sad and pathetic category and the results are truly painful to watch. Now out on DVD, this terrible “film” is yours to own so you can relive the pain over and over.
Triad Wars is a ridiculously bad gore fest which follows a fearsome Chinese gang leader who is starting to lose power. He and his goons then engage in a series of graphic battles with a rival gang to regain power. In the movie’s 117 minutes, these gangsters fight to declare who is the most powerful gang in Hong Kong.

Over the years having watched many kung fu movies, one person as stood out above the rest as my favorite villain, his name is Fung Hak On.
His presence on screen was fantastic, not only a great fighter and villain, but he is also a very good actor and could show lots of emotion with even one single look (Most look’s ended with someone getting killed though).
Birth-date : 18/9/1949
At the start of his career, Fung started off more as a stuntman and also having brief appearances in movies such as Vengeance, Heroic Ones, Water Margin plus many others. A few years later, the director he was working with at the time Chang Cheh, also had an assistant working with him, going by the name of John Woo. John Woo was just learning the process back then, but Fung was glad to work with Woo on his first ever directorial movie The Young dragons.
