    Warning: Spoilers
This is not the greatest anime that I have ever watched but it is not the worst either. I believe as the first user to review this series that the characters are good. Another thing to consider is that this series is currently on Netflix instant stream so you do not have to purchase the DVD before viewing it once if you have Netflix instant stream. Kazuma is a character much like Spike from Cowboy Bebop. I think Kazuma makes the series. Ayano and Ren give great costar power backup to Kazuma's main star power. Having made only one season I do not know what to make of the sexual tension between the main characters as it continues to be a comedic, more than a romantic, twist throughout the season. But again while this is on instant view Netflix users should check it out for themselves.

I quite enjoyed this anime, Kazumas English dub actor was the best i have to say. He has that likeable, determined and cool voice. That does suit the character so much! I know people were saying on Animelist that Ayano's character was pretty annoying but, I personally thought she was pretty cool and badass with her fire sword! The character Ren who was Kazumas brother, was pretty cute and funny the way he goes on.

I honestly laughed my head off at the scene where Kazuma beat his father up while the father trying to talk to him, Kazuma called the ambulance to tell him where he is and just left his own father there xD I know that isn't funny but since his pop abandoned him for not being powerful enough, I think he did deserve a slap on the face back tbh..

I would've loved to have seen more of Ayanos and Kazumas realtionship develop even further, it was totally cute that he smelled her hair but then it kinda escalated when he started to smack her bum and she fell in the pond. She began chasing him all over the place and of course he didn't mean to smack her arse. I hate the fact there isn't another season of this because it would be great to see how their romance develops. Unfortunately I heard the creator of this anime died which is unfortunate :( He did a really good job on making this anime!

    I'll give this anime a 8/10 :)

Though it's quite old if you're watching in 2020. It was quite good not best. But it was good enough to make me yearn for another season. But bad luck the died long ago. So,there is no chance if getting season 2. It's good even if not the best.
  • Ayano is the heiress to the house of Kannagi, which ties to the spirit of fire and whose members are all fire users. All except for her cousin, Kazuma. After he was defeated by Ayano, his father banished him from the house in disgrace. Kazuma ran off and changed his surname to Yagami his only wish became to achieve great power. He formed a contract with the spirit of wind and becomes a powerful wind user. Four years later, he returns.

This is when the story starts. Kazuma made a name for himself as a demon-like wind mage, who does not hesitate to hurt others as long as it helps him to complete a task. However, his personality begins to turn for the good again after returning to Japan and meeting a now 16-year-old Ayano. Through a series of events - the different families are constantly fighting with each other and also it is Anyano's duty as a heiress to investigate supernatural happenings - they start to work together. However she is arrogant and irrational, usually taking action by herself. Despite her claims to hate Kazuma, Ayano develops a crush on him, but is often irritated when he makes a move on her and erupts in anger when he gets close to another woman. Kazuma is also the only person she sees as stronger in power and presence than the leader of the family clan, her own father, who always tries to hook them up with each other. He thinks Ayano's hot-temper needs someone as calm as Kazuma. Of course Kazuma sees right through this and doesn't seem too averse to this idea, however Ayano is absolutely oblivious of her father's attempts.

Yes I know. It has all been done before. The story is not groundbreakingly new, but what makes this anime work is that it is so character driven. You don't have endless stares and shots of nothing really happening. The 24 episodes are full of action, a good main story arc, fully developed and likable characters (girls will love Kazuma, the ultimate badass, while Ayano is entirely from another world). On top of that you get a lot of slapstick humor (I love Ayano ^^) and you get a small dose of romance. So Studio Gonzo definitely doesn't show us something we haven't seen before, but the anime is still very well done and enjoyable throughout. A respectable work, one might say. It maybe won't become you No. 1 favorite anime, but I assure you, you will nonetheless have enjoyed a fun ride.

It's definitely worth checking out and because of the likable and well rounded characters and the overall setting (great chemistry all around) it is worth adding it to your anime collection.

The genre is difficult to pin down. While the light novel series the show is based on is published in a seinen magazine (for adults), the anime is definitely not as dark and violent. However in Japan - although undeservingly IMO - it still was aired in a late night slot. So expect some violence but it is nowhere near let's say Elfenlied or Black Lagoon, more in the league of Darker than Black.
  • Before I started watching it, I had a bad feeling that this anime will turn out to be a booring one, that's bcz I saw a few reviews which suggested that I'd be an average series. But to tell you the truth, my perception completely changed after I completed 3-4 episodes. Everything about the anime is good, the main character Kazume is a solid badass. He kinda reminds me of Light Yagami from 'Death Note', smart, composed, calm, quick, powerful and handsome as well. He is kind of an anti hero. You'll find him pretty cool. Speaking about the story, it may not be the best one out there but I'd rather say it's pretty interesting. The more you watch, the better it gets and that's how it's gonna be. The soundtrack is good as well. The only thing that I personally think would've been better was the animation style, it's not bad but I reckon it'd been better if style was more the fighting type which the anime is based of. Overall, I'd suggest you to give it a go if you're looking for a good action anime with a rather intriguing plot and a badass main character.

I'm not gonna lie I was pretty convinced I wouldn't like this show when it started considering that I found the main heroine really annoying and well....hot headed. However, though it took a while she started to grow on me and so did her relationship with the main hero. In fact her quick tempered nature even developed into a sort of charm about her and highlighted how Kazume bettered her as a person and a future leader. This show is highly enjoyable and my biggest problem is that they didn't have another season. The series is definitely worth giving a chance and I doubt you will be disappointed.

Kaze no Stigma is quite a fun and endearing anime despite the description of the manga as being significantly darker. Seeing Kazuma and Ayano grow closer as the series progresses is a lot of fun especially considering how exasperating and hot headed Ayano can be! Its also interesting to watch how Kazuma's brother Ren grows to be a kindler, gentler version of his older brother.

Plot wise there are few wasted moments with plenty of action of the magical variety from end to end. One matter that the anime could have explored in another episode or two was what happened between Kazuma and Tsui Le, as it is you only get a few flashbacks of the events that drove Kazuma to become a contractor/wind magic user.

The intro song "Blast of Wind" is really beautiful and there are two or three ending songs that are nice as well.

    Overall, I recommend the series.

Make more of this series high rise invasion.so I can continue watching Both series they're great I like the people who are in both shows and I hope your can make leg is toys were the people from the Shows.
  • The anime is a "classic" but consider it's 13+\- year old it holds up pretty well. The animation is "period", tropes are well worn, and the characters are all classic archetypes, despite all of that (or maybe because) it fits together well was an enjoyable watch with its age in mind.

    Pros:
    • Brooding Outcast cliche works.
    • Classic character archetypes are well handled.
    • Not all reunions are happy.

    Cons:
    • Mixed animation styles to highlight emotions, personal preference but to cartoony (ironic I know).
    • Moderate cheese factor.
    • Predictable to fault.

All in all it's an average anime, likely very good at its debut but overshadowed by better entries at time goes on.

I generally like anime where mc is powerful but this anime dissapointed me a lot.I saw this anime after reading the reviews. The main character is not that powerful. At starting he defeats his father and when they fight second time the mc loses to his father not to forget he even lost to ayano kannagi(very weak).I don't know what is the point of making this anime and again at last they will show the mc as antagonist. So I would recommend not to watch this anime if you are looking for op/badass anime because this anime is total waste of time.

If you like to watch a movie about 75% way and then never get the ending then this is a good one to watch. You get to watch all the episodes and get absolutely no satisfaction cause there is no conclusion. The graphics I guess are on par with the year it was created since it's lacking in overall quality. The story premise is interesting at first but the female character is not likable throughout. She's created as quick to anger and oblivious and violent. All guys are attracted to that, right? I'm sure it's a turn on when you are misunderstood and a girl screams and attacks you immediately and you can't explain your side. Great trait for a female if you want everyone to be annoyed and stay away. The guy is all dark and moody with an dash of humor and a sad ugly past. They make him out as the bad good guy with a heart but has some dumb evil side that makes him do the most evil things that the watcher should ignore along with soooo many other people and similar scenarios but they are somehow forgiven and supposedly can make up for it with good deeds. The creator has law enforcement that is useless and turns a blind eye when convenient to the main characters we are supposed to root for. So many things didn't make sense as far as motives go. I know we should turn of our brains and ignore reality but common sense is difficult to do away with. There's some pretty awful implied things that occurred to some of the girls when they under the influence of a sexual predator and the writer glides over what probably happened or failed to create a scenario that made it where they didn't get assaulted. All while the "good" guy does evil things for a good while and simply allows murder, abduction and rape all for revenge and might I add he was acting on his own accord and not under the influence of some other entity. How could people enjoy this and ignore all of this happening and we should somehow root for them as the good guys and hope these murderous couple be together after they act indifferent to each other and are ugly to each other. There was almost zero chemistry built. It was a robotically built forced relationship for two people who can't possibly be good for each other. Even the guys previous relationship can tell you this new chick is nothing he would like. First gf was a hard worker and doted on him and showed her feelings and wanted him. The forced gf is a bratty princess who is clueless and rotten. Match made In hell.
