Girlfriends Films' "Women Seeking Women" Was still seeking its way ahead back in 2003 with this weak release, notable for only one 30-minute vignette amidst 2 more hours of dullness.
That winner stars Sofey and the divine Jewels Jade as beautiful, extremely glamorous women on a Dec. 12, 1930 Atlantic cruise ship, duly recorded in Sofey's diary for a flashback. They play cards and roll dice, dressed to the nines in a glamorous parlor aboard ship, with Jade losing the final toss which means domination by Sofey.
But it's glorious domination, as they retire to bed with romantic, low- lighting and candles, for a strap-on-dildo session that remains sensual and lovely, rather than going gonzo. This is a keeper, just like Jade's classic opposite Meghan in the previous (#5) volume of the series.
At nearly an hour-long apiece the other 2 segments fall way short of the mark. Opener is meant to be romantic like Jewels' vignette, but is harshly lit, ruining the effect. It is merely a threesome of sorts (now currently back in fashion at the New Sensations label) wherein Lena Ramon sets in motion a coupling blonde-on-blonde of her girlfriend Tara Wild with fan fave Nicole Moore. Lena is the voyeuse sitting on the bed, doing some caressing of the girls but not intervening, just like those dreadful "cuckold" genre videos flooding today's niche market. It's boring and a waste of talented Nicole & Tara, two of girlfriends' earliest mainstays.
Finale is really awful, billed as the debut video for Elexis Monroe and Alicia Silver, though at this stage in its history Girlfriends opted for first-name-only style billing. No hint of Elexis's ascendancy to the peak of Lesbian Cineman stardom here, as she is merely submissive as a roller-skating girl who injures her wrist and is cheered up in bed by lover Alicia. Playing the sex scene with an awkward wrist bandage, Elexis is just a lump, and the three times too long footage plays as virtually soft-core, its XXX content so mild. Sominex time.
