I have loved Josh Gates for years and came to love Phil and Jess as well. I don't believe in much paranormal stuff but the show was entertaining. That is until Jess left. I was heartbroken and upset with Josh that he didn't make amends with her. I REALLY do not like this new woman Heather. She is so obviously fake that it just ruins the show. Whenever she does anything like the necklace Ouji board thing or the dowsing rods she is so obviously moving her fingers to manipulate them. I spend more time being distracted by her faked stuff that I cannot enjoy the entertainment factor that I had with Jess. From reading some other reviews I see I am not alone.

Josh, fix things with Jess and get rid of that fake hack Heather.

My husband and I enjoy this show very much. The only problem is that we can never hear what Jessica and Phil hear because the music is too loud! Can we do without the music so the environmental sounds are the same that Jessica and Phil hear? It would make it so much more realistic and believable and exciting.

The biggest mystery about this program is how it ever got commissioned. Jessica is obviously as mad as a box of frogs, and will believe literally any old rubbish instead of the obvious truth. Phil is supposed to be the voice of reason, but all too often goes along with ridiculous scenarios instead of just pointing out it's a load of nonsense. Formulaic, preposterous, implausible.

I just finished the first season and I am appalled at the claim the Jessica Chobot is an "experienced" paranormal investigator! She freaks out at any potential contact and then she doesn't seem to have any ability to problem solve and look for logical cause for an experience. She automatically goes right to "it's haunted!". As someone who watched the series Ghost Hunters I find it hard to believe that she has any real experience as a paranormal investigator. This show would be much better if they would replace Jessica with a "real" paranormal investigator.

Does anyone believe that any of these shows like these are actual pure science? If you don't want something that is at least 50% entertainment then watch PBS. Shows like this are scripted and the drama is obviously staged, but who cares? I love this show because it's cheesy and fun. A number of reviewers on here give Jess a hard time for being so sure everything is paranormal. What I find stranger is how Phil could still be skeptical after all of the things they encounter. If all the things that happen to them while "investigating" were real then any rational human would be terrified. This is good fun entertainment. Enjoy it for what it is, not for what you want it to be.

This isn't a bad show to say the least. The cast of the show needs some work, but I like when this show hunts down monsters whether they exist or not. However I did not like how they added in fake screams in one of the investigations, but I guess that was for entertainment purposes. Overall, it's a nice spin off to expedition unknown with josh as the big boss. I don't believe people know what they are talking about when they give this show a terrible review. Why does joshes entire crew have to be involved? I guess people don't know what a change of pace looks like.

I really enjoy the contrast between Jessica and Phil. People complain that Jess thinks everything is paranormal but I see it as she has a very open mind and finds enjoyment in believing in things of the paranormal nature as do I. I really enjoy when Phil gets surprised when he can't explain things naturally, I find it satisfying. Regardless of their beliefs, they both approach each investigation from a scientific standpoint, Jess does hope to experience something strange and looks forward to it and what's the harm in that? She still looks to science as well. I really enjoy this show, but I do wish Josh played more of a part in it, that's the only reason for the 9/10 rating.

The female investigator ruins the show for me. She does not add much to the show and gets scared every couple of minutes. Please replace her with someone (if there are any more episodes) with someone that does not come across as really annoying.

My wife and I have watched this show from the very beginning and we absolutely love it! That is, until Heather joined the show. I'm sure that she is a very nice and sweet person, however, she cannot say anything without it coming out sounding like a lie, even the things that you know are absolute fact!

My wife and I both think that she is trying to act so hard, without any talent for it, that she sounds like an absolute phoney!.

The chemistry between Phil and Jessica was absolutely perfect and the show was seamless especially when Josh joined the show, I mean, who doesn't love Josh? Back then we would have given the show 10 out of 10 Stars every single episode and every single year!

As far as the chemistry between Phil and Heather, well, there is none! You could tell Phil is trying so very hard but just can't make it work! When Heather first joined the show, it almost sounded as though she did know a little bit about paranormal investigation, but as the show went on and she would jump like a terrified mouse at every single noise and grab it phil's arm, because she was frightened senseless, that gave us all the facts that we needed to conclude, she had no idea what she was doing and had no business pretending to be an expert paranormal investigator, because the real ones, (the professional ones), don't scream every 5 seconds!

And I hate to say this, because as I said, we have watched this show from the very beginning, but we don't know how much longer we will be able to continue watching this! It almost feels as though we're being forced to watch it, if that makes any sense.

They really need to bring Jessica back, or they need to find somebody who is a well seasoned and talented paranormal investigator and has at least a modicum of talent as an actress!

And again, like I said, I have nothing against heather, I'm sure she is a very nice person, she just brings the quality of the show down so far, that it is disappointing.

I just don't like this show. Not a fan of jessicia or the voice over work. What makes expedition unknown so great is Josh just has the personality that you enjoy listening to him. These two on this show just don't have that it factor for me. I am shocked that Josh put him name with such a staged show. Should be called Expedition staged.

The show is good. Better than any ghost show which I usually have a hard time watching. It's also meant to be little funny. If you're at least a little intrigued by the unexplained they cover the whole lot. Personally my favorite episodes are on ufos but I'm pretty well researched on that subject and to anyone who thinks there's nothing to ufos.. you've done little to no research. They visit hotspots and even for their ghost investigations they're going to old insane asylums and places that are well know for deaths and being unexplained. Also Josh is not only in every episode.. he participates usually one episode a season.

This is a tv show in the same vein as many of Josh Gate's other TV shows that quite literally span over a decade. I think Josh quite literally has about 4 of these expedition style tv shows, and after all of these years of explorer style tv shows or cryptid hunting series Josh seems to have finally stepped out of the field and into the office. I mean he has gained some weight and his age is starting to show on his receding hair line to the extent that it is quite noticeable; as such, Josh has hired to new young explorers to take over his previous job of travelling the world in search of answers.

There is now a two person team that has replaced Josh in the field, and both seem to have opposite beliefs, when paired together attempt to provide an objective answer between them to solve whatever mystery they are working on. We have a true believer in the supernatural and alien encounters who is most certainly a beautiful woman that is much easier to watch on the small screen than Josh ever was. Her name is Jessica Chabot. Her partner who is definitely the "Scully" on the 2 man team is a scientist / biologist who seems to always take a scientific approach to mysteries and is the man always looking for a natural explanation to strange encounters. His name is Phil Torres.

This is a reality tv show that investigates everything from the paranormal end of the spectrum, but also such things as mysterious crimes, cryptids, legends and real first hand experiences that point towards the existence of creatures like Bigfoot and its ilk. This show is undoubtedly a guilty pleasure of mine to watch! I know and understand a lot of what they investigate is quite possibly urban legends, local folklore and "sightings" reported by people that they actually interview. I have to admit most of what they report on is obviously fake; however, there are those unexplained mysteries that they occasionally investigate that provide real tangible evidence, credible eye witnesses and sometimes even video evidence that could possibly be the real deal! It's those episodes that I find infinitely intriguing to watch. If these types of real mysteries interest you, then I would suggest that you give the show a try! You may be hooked like I am!

It's interesting that some of the alien encounters that they report on actually have video evidence, multiple eye-witnesses, and occasionally even hard physical proof. In any court of law those 3 lines of proof would be more than enough to justify the existence of whatever they are reporting on! So yes, they do actually provide some extremely compelling evidence on the proof of something that appears to be extraterrestrial in nature, quite often that being video of a spacecraft of some unknown make that most definitely seems to be breaking the laws of physics in the ways that they fly around. In today's modern society where everyone is carrying cameras in their cell phones and also video recorders, it's increasingly difficult for the government to continue to keep a tight wrap on these extra terrestrial space craft; as such, I believe we are reaching a point where disclosure is likely to take place.

The government has up until now been keeping a tight lid on these E. T. encounters and videos, and it's quite possible that these E. T.'s may have already met with creatures from another planet. This seemed to most certainly have take. Place back in the 40's or 50's where society would have "crumbled" in panic if disclosure were to occur. The Government feels that religious people would lose their minds or something along those lines. That was then, and whatever was originally negotiated with these foreign life forms seems to be still in place today, even if the world has drastically changed over the years.

Some people may consider my opinion to be wacko, but I believe that various species of E. T.'s have been here visiting on Earth for many thousands of years. I also believe that the government also has some of this alien technology and are already using it to zip around to the planets in our own solar system WITH human manned ships. In the 90's a notorious UK hacker managed to hack into NASA managing to retrieve documents that state that there are already off world teams and that manned space craft recovered from alien ships that they managed to find here on Earth are currently being used! This could very well be the reason behinds Trumps recent somewhat recent announcement of a new Space Force agency of the government. Many in the press laughed it off like it was some kind of crazy unhinged move by Trump, but most feel as though he created this agency for a tangible reason. I feel that he has done this because he knows what's taking place and he is aware that we are being visited and that there needs to be an agency working in Earths best interest to protect our planet from potential invaders.

This is the reason this show delves deep into the UFO phenomenon and it's also why it is such a popular tv show. Because it's real. Watch the show, it's good for those who have an interest in this subject!

Expedition X is horrible! No Josh. Poor casting. And worst of all - this show is nothing but a sacrilegious knock off of Josh's previous hit show, Destination Truth. They cover the exact same places & stories but without all of the wonderful elements that made Destination Truth so good. No, Josh. No, Josh humor. No Destination Truth team. No night time observation gizmos. No interaction with the crew. No Ryder. No fun dialogue.

I would love to see new episodes of Destination Truth. In the old format with some of the old crew and definitely with Josh. But Expedition X is just a sad and extremely dissatisfying, cheap knock off.

This show is watchable, idk what everyone is complaining about. Josh is a great host, Phil plays his part as a skeptic perfectly without being annoying and the new girl and past girl were just great too. Anyone reading the hater reviews, remember, they watched the whole show and probably the next one too. Some people are never pleased "enough". I don't read too much into if its faked or real, my guess is it's about as real as you can get as any fakery would be found out pretty quick and the show ruined. I like this and Bigfoot Expedition. Both of these shows are fun, F-U-N and I will continue to watch them.

Somehow this show returned for a second season, and somehow it's even worse. This show has nothing to do with it's parent show, Expedition Unknown, where you are constantly given history and interesting facts/culture about said location from likable host Josh Gates. This show rather decides to rip off fake-ass ghost shows with every single trope those shows have, but done 10x worse and obviously more fake. I gave the show a second chance after its hiatus, and yet somehow they learned nothing from the first season and have doubled down on horribly made fake setups. The two hosts still consist of a girl most famous for licking a PSP and a guy that's an Instagram bug fanatic, both of which seem to absolutely hate eachother. The girl seems to think even the slightest cricket sound is a supernatural homunculus waiting to pounce from the underbrush, and the guy just seems to want to go home and down a glass of hard liquor to forget about the episode he just had to film. Both of them pretend to be scared of stock sound effects that they edit in post production, talk to crazy people/actors about their experiences with the creature of the week, fumble around in uninteresting dark places for 15 minutes, and then just give up after finding a prop they put on-site and calling it so-called "evidence", opting instead to call up and bother Josh to give him an "update" when it's clear he could care less and just wants to go back to sleep. It's paint-by-numbers ghost show and an incredibly boring slog to get through, and if Josh didn't appear you'd have no idea that this was connected in any way to Expedition Unknown. The only sheer amount of enjoyment I get out of watching this show is the commercial in-between where a lonely man buys his seemingly paralyzed guinea pig a new hat for Christmas whilst proceeding to take a picture of him. After that commercial is taken off the air, I will have no reason to watch this show.

If you want entertaining fake ghost shows, please for the love of god watch anything else.

I love most of Gates' stuff. I also like the idea of having a scientifically trained investigator versus a paranormal investigator. However, Jessica is about the worst choice to fill that latter. You can hit her in the face with physical evidence and she will still claim that it's paranormal. I'm not really sure how she got a reputation as a legitimate paranormal investigator anyway. I've been doing this a long time and I've never heard of her in relationship to the field. Since she's in the entertainment industry, you would think that her exploits in the paranormal outside of this show would be common knowledge. Maybe I'm being too hard on her but I have a sneaking suspicion that if I were to view anything else that she's a part of, I'd still find her annoying. You guys want to increase your shows popularity? Find someone legit to replace her.

I been following josh gate from the day he started on TV.

I really do not understand why this guy is not at the top of the charts for unknown mysteries.

This guy deserved more airtime.

What people have to understand is that discovery is only showing us stuff they want us to see.

There more likely better footage that is never aired.

All the team work brilliant together Jessica is new to this type of work but she does a very amazing job in learning of the unknown and reads a lot of books on it

Phil is the non believer but has experience unknown events.

I would like to see more of the UFO.

I wanted to love the episode I watched (Mammoth Cave) but it was thin on science & facts & heavy on spooky sounds & shadows. As a geology buff & overall science nerd, I shouted possible reasons for the spooky events at the TV screen - a fungus growing in the cave that when inhaled could cause visual and/or auditory hallucinations; minerals in the rocks that could influence the atmosphere (for eg: the mysterious goings-on at the Bermuda Triangle have been all but proven to be due to the presence of magnetic rocks that interfere with airplane & sea vessel instruments); shifting wind patterns due to meteorological events on the surface that make it feel like someone is brushing up against you; rocks small and large, that when they shift or break off affect the wind pattern, cause spooky sands and so on and so on. I gave this show a 6 just because it's better than a lot of the crap out there (cough**The Bachelor**cough) and because Josh, though I don't think I'll be watching again. I'll stick with the fabulous Expedition Unknown.

Enjoy watching Josh searching for answers. He is daring and dashing. Try not to miss this show. Especially love ancient ancestor and ufo info. Not crazy about his 2 new partners but as long as he goes with them it will be OK. Josh IS THE SHOW. LOVE IT!

Not sure why you can't get someone who truly knows paranormal investigation. Heather is not that person nor was the woman before her. Come on Josh, you can do better. She is actually ridiculous, doesn't know how to handle responses, doesn't know how to ask for responses and is boringly dramatic in a fake way. Does she really think old spirits know the names.of her equipment? She is actually laughable especially when she claims something is paranormal with no proof at all. Why bother investigating then...The guy is ok, at least he has common sense while Heather buys into every rumor or legend without question.

Is Jessica insane?? The biologist is open minded but she just thinks everything must be supernatural, or a monster. Not open that something may have a normal explanation. Expedition Unknown with Mr Josh is my preferred tipple!

I love this show !! I watched all things expedition as an expedition unknown expedition X and the other shows that you created and I like that you hit every aspect and every possibility you're not close minded like some people in this world.!! A+ I love the balance between the believer and the biologist it allows for all angles to be tested !! It's sad to me that the other people that rate is this show or disappointed because it's not expedition unknown per se but it's clearly a different show !! Therefore it's going to be different !!

The team fits well together and I hope you continue to make more episodes.

I love the show, but I have a real hard time with Heather parading around half naked, swearing and screaming when she sees her own shadow. She's very very jumpy but claims to be a paranormal investigator. Why is she so scared? I thought this was her profession. I don't have any more words I think I put Heather on the grill. Please bring Jessica back. Jessica was the best. Bring back Jessica. Not quite sure what else I can say about the show Josh put some clothes on that woman. She just seems very skanky and you're in charge so you can make it better. Don't like watching your show ever since she's been on she has a squeaky mousey voice and she's a fraidycat!

I love Josh Gates. His enthusiasm really make Expedition Unknown. This spin off is just terrible. It is a very bad watered down version of Expedition Unknown, with characters trying to be Josh Gates. They don't even follow up on stuff the right way. This program is damaging Josh 's reputation. Please cancel it
