Mitchell will play a new staff member at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center in the new season of Chicago Med, TVLine reports. Dr. Mitch Ripley is an ER physician with a past connection to Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), the hospital’s head of psychiatry. He comes from a troubled background, which led him to cross paths with Dr. Charles when he was growing up.
The addition of Mitchell to the Chicago Med cast comes after several high-profile exits in season 8, including the departures of Brian Tee, who played Dr. Ethan Choi, and Nick Gehlfuss, who played Dr. Will Halstead. Both had been with the show since its first season.

The ’90s: back! Also back: overwhelming existential dread! They’re two great tastes that taste great together, as any fan of Showtime’s hit series “Yellowjackets” can attest. Besides all the mid-’90s pop and indie-rock needle drops that pop up amid the calmer moments in the show’s sometimes horrific storm, there’s also music of an uneasier nature coming from the two musicians responsible for both the score and original songs, both ’90s veterans: Craig Wedren of the band Shudder to Think, and Anna Waronker of That Dog.
Without resorting to cannibalism, these two formed a few survival skills of their own, in escaping the uncertainty of the music business for steady television work, and previously became a TV team working on a couple of very different series, Hulu’s “Shrill” and The CW’s “The Republic of Sarah.” Now, “Yellowjackets” has allowed them some moments to revisit their ’90s band roots,...

The CW is parting ways with one of its summer series.
According to TV Line, The Outpost has been canceled after four seasons.
The last-ever episode is currently set to air on the network Thursday, October 7 at 9/8c.
Like many CW series, the on-air ratings have sagged considerably.
The show returned in July to 450,000 viewers and a 0.05 rating, and it has been staying around those numbers since.
As a co-production, the series was thought to have lasted this long because co-productions are typically cheaper to produce because of the different outlets involved.
The series “follows Talon, the lone survivor of a race called Blackbloods. Years after her entire village was destroyed by a gang of brutal mercenaries, Talon travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world, as she tracks the killers of her family," according to the official logline.

The Republic of Sarah on the CW is being canceled since it’s not performing as it needs to be in the ratings, which is a pretty common reason given that the need to make quality shows that make money and gain the interest of the audience is important to each studio, anything that

Greylock, we hardly knew ye.
That's because The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 13 marked the end of the series, with the cancellation announcement coming with only one episode remaining.
Since the season was filmed months before airing, there was no opportunity for closure, with most characters facing new, uncertain futures following the finale.
Probably we should have realized that The Republic of Sarah wouldn't be with us long when it landed on The CW, home primarily for superhero, paranormal, and science fiction programming.
CW stuck it in the doldrums of summer, with ill-fitting lead-ins in first All American and then Roswell, New Mexico. Both are quality shows but aren't particularly compatible with "Sarah."
Perhaps we should be grateful that a network was giving us something other than a reality show which celebrates the morally or ethically ambivalent.
"Sarah" had an intriguing hook but one that required a viewer actually pay attention.

Sarah and Greylock can't win.
You would think that discovering the town had a spare $35 million would have solved some problems on The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 12.
But this episode proved once again that money can't buy happiness. It was still up in the air what it might do for the town.
Sarah's personal life was going all right for once. Sure, she broke up with Weston after he outed Paul as the State Department whistleblower in his article on The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 11.
But that needed to happen. A head of state shouldn't have been in a relationship with a journalist to start with.
But it was six weeks later, and CIA ninjas hadn't snuck into Greylock to hustle off Paul to a black site.
Frankly, once the truth came out, if anything had happened to Paul, he would have become a very public martyr.

Poor Sarah is discovering it's lonely at the top.
After reconnecting with her father more, she lost her boyfriend and her best friend in rapid succession on The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 11.
It's not easy to be the person around which everyone revolves. But that's Sarah in Greylock.
After all, without her intervention, Greylock would be a series of massive holes in the ground after Lydon had ravaged it for its coltan.
At least now, there's hope for the future, after the coltan revenues start flowing into the town's coffers.
However, that doesn't dismiss the fact that her parents and brother at best tolerate each other, and she's stuck in the middle playing referee, again and again, and again.
She had gotten rid of one of those problems when her mother Ellen went off to rehab on The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 4.
Danny was happy that the parent he despised had left,...

It's strange how a flood could blow up so many relationships.
But that's exactly what happened on The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 10.
After months of keeping a fledgling nation together, many things have started to come apart around Sarah, except, surprisingly, Greylock itself.
At the next meeting of the Greylock congress, they should vote to ban Fraidy Cat.
At first blush, the game in which a group of adults acting like children hides hoping to scare another of their number seems innocent enough.
Except that there are too many secrets lurking in Greylock, as Adam's attempt to get back at the others by playing Fraidy Cat proved.
It was inevitable that Danny and Corinne sleeping together on The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 8 would come back to haunt, well, everybody involved.
Danny did the right thing breaking up with Piper on The Republic of Sarah Season 1...
