I love the original show to the proud family and the movie version as well so my opinions on these reboots aren't necessarily they ruin the charm of the original thats with Teen Titans, Powerpuff girls, Wacky races, Icarly etc. I like the first episode because seeing them growing up but I am disappointed we don't see more of sticky hes been replaced with new character Michael.

Now already I don't like any of new characters they are so bland and generic aka Maya is horrible she one of worst and her cousin just clone of sticky but not good one and Micheal is typical gay best friend that into fashion and sassy wow talk about stereotypes I am so sick of these stereotypes episode 2 is worst with whole make up boy I hate this episode so much just everyone act like idiots with stupid social media.

The first episode is better since Penny put Maya in her place after she tried to get her to like her back but episode 2 just dismiss that she all sudden part of Penny crew how? Maya called them shallow etc this makes zero sense I can't stand Maya she one of worst characters already.

The characters are still okay which is Penny family twins are now toddlers and Penny Dad hes so meh now and I dont like how they dismiss episode 1 and hes still the overprotective father. Her friends like LaCienega she still most annoying but I guess they never changed any of her friends characters which is decent. The gross sister they are cool still.

Overall I am not impressed with the show so far episode 2 just dismissing episode 1 for characters and story now we have to wokeness and social media trends life is hard as it is the new characters suck.

This is another reboot which isn't needed just watch original.
  • I really tried to give it a chance and wanted to enjoy it. This reboot just ain't it.

This show has lost all authenticity present in the original. The reboot is... odd, and doesn't seem to know who it's audience is. I enjoyed the first couple of episodes, but the more I watch, the more "cringe" and "fake" it seems, and I'm a pretty progressive person. Unfortunately, I'm done giving it a chance.
  • First of all, that theme song is awful. They should have kept the original one because it fit the energy of the show. However, I guess that explains the new song because this reboot is just as bad. It's just bland and trying too hard. I love Keke Palmer and was so excited to see she was going to be a part of this, but I do not like her character. Oscar is even worse, Trudy is super dominant, and I can go on and on but I'm disappointed and this is just NO.

This reboot is not it. First starting with the theme song, just no. The plots are horrible and cringy. Like seriously weird. I really tried giving this a chance but it's a no for me. I absolutely adored the original and though I didn't expect a reboot to be like the original, I thought it would have been better. That was the expectation but this is straight up weird.

    Bad
Some successful shows from the past just need to stay in the past. Don't make a reboot if you can't make it happen. Now it is just The proud family: badder & sadder.
  • This show is just another case of using entertainment to push agendas. This show was never about all that. It use to be focused on Black family and something to be proud of. This makes us look bad and is DEFINITELY not something myself or my kids will be watching. Love this talent lineup, it's ashame it's going to waste.

Do yourself a favor and watch something that actually depicts black people as being intelligent, having values, mom and dad but competing against each other, etc. Disney is becoming more and more trashy. I don't know who told Disney they need to join the indoctrination movement but we are all good deciding for ourselves what's right and wrong.

SInce the 2001 to 2005 series, and now this, I cannot believe why Penny would STILL have these "friends", especially how Zoey was treated in the princess episode. Dijonay especially... She's more fake than Penny's fake friends ever since day one! And now, in this reboot, they add ANOTHER toxic "friend", who is Maya? I will say this though, I am glad that the triplets do not look as stereotypical as the they did in the original series. But the animation in both the 2001 and 2022 Proud Family's honestly look cheap. The voice acting is terrible. The episodes are ridiculously silly. And I do not like how the protagonist Penny is always being treated like absolute garbage when she has never really did anything bad and is a much better person than her "friends".

    Horrible show overall.
  • When the original Proud Family premiered, I found it charming, funny, and relatable. It always had a slight political lean, but I didn't let it bother me. It was by no definition perfect, but for a kid's show it doesn't have to be. This sequel series is a major downgrade.

Through lazy writing it got rid of a funny character and replaced said character for essentially a political advertisement which set the tone for the entire first season. Season two from the start has clearly shown that this show has become nothing more than a method for unhappy writers, directors, and producers to tell the world that they have an ax to grind while ignoring concepts like making the characters likeable, relatable, and develop through engaging stories.
  • I love love looooove this reboot!! I sometimes even think it'll Be better if they put it PG-14 since she's a bit grown but ID love to see a real series on penny as a human being as well!
  • My hopes weren't high to being with, but it was even worse than I thought. Some things are meant to stay put. The proud family is one of them. I couldn't even make it through the first episode. I grew up watching the original, and well it's been off the air for well over 10 years, and now they are trying humor that's nearly 10 years old such as what are those and bae and a few others. Many kids these days never have even seen the original and I would not show this to my children.
  • Sad to see that this series has a 2.8 tv rating! The proud family has always touched down on some real life issues that we are dealing with in society.

Now that the series has been revived a few people have their complaints and then the younger generation don't understand what kind of impact the proud family has on the nation. This is a family friendly tv show that touches on subjects about racism, being gay, equality, freedom of speech and more.

I can genuinely say that I am grateful that Disney had revived The Proud Family Louder and Prouder. Because this series was always a show that impacted my childhood life and memories. I hope the younger generation will take lessons from the show and apply it to their life choices.

It's not as bad as I thought I think its pretty good the comedy is good-ish not the best but it's fine though I will say the theme song is kind of bad.
  • I was saddened by how they allowed this show to devolve into a political statement. Content is very poorly written. Acting (voice overs) is even worse. It seems they tried to resort to very one-sided political views to gloss over boring storylines, not funny scenes, and overall (again) very poor content. Please just entertain us with good writing and good humor. Characters appear shallow and generic in so many ways. It is hard not to compare it to the previous iteration which was flowing and so humorous. It just carried you along and made your day better. This version is so filled with meandering dialogue and incomprehensible plots that I feel lost and bored after watching it. In conclusion, very sad.

Don't get me wrong, I was super excited and wanted to love the new series. But watching it with family, we were disappointed. The show tries to hard to plug in as many current day references (bitcoin, stimulus checks, woke influencers) yet falls behind with their idea of modern slang, using words like ratchet, bae, and squad goals, words more from 2013.

That aside, we also didn't like how the friends treated each other. All of them went through puberty overnight, and all look glowing except for Lacienega, who is struggling with acne, facial hair and unkept eyebrows. They all make fun of her looks and say she needs to "fix herself" by plucking and waxing, which Michael does for her. I personally think this sends the wrong message even if it's supposed to be a joke. The situation mirrors issues teens already deal with, and reinforce beauty standards.

There were also scenes that were uncomfortable to watch, for example, a rapper called Young Toddler that sings at Penny's school dance- starts twerking while dressed in a diaper. The whole episode was cringey and hard to watch. The second episode wasn't much better, focusing on a beauty influencer. I'm not sure if we will continue to watch the series.
  • I was wondering how this show was so bad and still rated a 6.5 until I realized I was looking at the original, which my wife really loved. She talked me into watching this with her and we were appalled and disgusted. The level of hate the writers and producers of this new version have for one specific type of people is insane.

This is the show that literally was the last straw for my family and we cancelled our Disney / Hulu subscription after watching this.

The writing was horrible, and worst of all it was clearly done by a team of people that are obsessed with hating on a certain type of people.

As adults waiting for such a great show we used to watch as kids, it was exciting! I couldn't even get through the second episode. These transformations and new characters are terrible. On top of that, I would never let any kid watch this. It's sad what we are allowing now a days. This one didn't need to be brought back. Especially not like this. Super disappointed.

I don't know why this was made but the first two episodes were so cringe and awful, I'd be embarrassed to on cast. The show lacked any shine like the original and felt like it was another deep dive in the bucket as a cash grab from fans that enjoyed the original show.
  • So like the first time I saw this reboot, I was pretty impressed by the animation. The theme song sounded good and I kinds vibed with it. But digging more further into the show I saw that it wasn't the same. So first off it's the modern humor, pretty much most of the characters say "slay" "period" "the glowup is real" and tons of cringy words. I like the old show better, for starters it was classic. And it was more funnier than the reboot. I laughed probably more than 2 times when watching that. But the reboot I haven't even laughed once. And for some reason I was kind of surprised to hear Oscar say "Damn" in the very first episode. I mean Penny and her friends are grown up, and of course Sticky wasn't in the show because his voice actor, Orlando Brown, was arrested and I forgot for what, but that's why Sticky wasn't in the show. Now second, it's because of it's corny ass jokes. The jokes in this show aren't even funny, they're old, and they're cringe. You would have to have a humor of a hot cheeto girl to find this funny. Even they're jokes are cringy and they're not even funny at all. So like in the second season in one episode, it featured a joke where a guy said "Ima end this mans whole career" and straight up roasts him and the whole crows goes crazy. Well that was what was going on in the second season. Like it was unfunny and they copy and pasted the animation like 3 times. And it made it even more weird because it didn't have audio playing. Also I was kind of surprised to see that in the second season it's animation improved more. Like it was at 24 fps or above that. But overall, the show is bad, it's cringe, it has corny and the most terrible jokes, and I wouldn't recommend it. I'd rather stick to the old series because it was much more better.
  • Honestly, I've hated this Hollywood wave of recycling and rebooting old great shows that were great were they were and ruining my childhood favorites **cough cough** Powerpuff Girls, Chip N Dale, Girls meets world, Fuller House but this is actually really good. Made it current enough that it's relatable today, while keeping the same voice actors and a style, while not 100% the same it's so reminiscent that you don't feel much of a disconnect.

Sure if you compared them side by side, you'd notice someobvious updated differences, but none of it is enough to throw you out of enjoying the reboot. My biggest complaint would be the theme song. Now don't get me wrong, there's nothing "wrong" with the new one. The Destiny's Child one is just iconic, it's in your head, it's one of those things that just sticks with you. Doesn't help that I am a huge DC fan so I'm pretty sure this new one will grow with me over time it just doesn't have the same punch as the original. The way DC and Solange harmonized was just, I love it, 4 voices coming together that gives it that extra depth that current one somewhat lacks

All and all, I love this reboot and can't wait for more episodes. This is how you do a reboot.
  • Definitely not a program for children!

Promotes shaming and bullying, and major stereotyping along with other bad behavior.

The jokes are more often than not in bad taste.

Disney seems to really have dropped the ball on what it considers family entertainment.

I'LL REPEAT MYSELF: DEFINITELY NOT A PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN!

It promotes shaming and bullying, and major stereotyping along with other bad behavior.

The jokes are more often than not in bad taste.

Disney seems to really have dropped the ball on what it considers family entertainment.

Some of the behavior of the characters in the show as disgusting.

This show is simply amazing, the show retains the amazing level of comedy it did back whith the original shows run with more complex issues plagueing todays world and deals with it in a family friendly manner.... anyone that underrates this show clearly doesn't understand the significance this show represents.
  • Amazing first two episodes can't wait til they release more. It's all the same characters and voices. Few left but it's been a long time since proud family ended. But a lot came back and it's the best love the new characters.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Let's face it, after a couple episodes, it's clear to see this one lacks the charm and humor of the original. The clever, surprising things that made me laugh on the original are rarely present on this one. Additionally, Oscar seems even weaker and more of a push over/buffoon than before. Not to mention there's awkward writing and comedic timing. Finally, I'm not with this agenda--the one where you need prominent displays of LGBTQ+ characters in every show. (****SPOILER****) Removing Sticky in order to give Micheal more screen time was a typical but unnecessary move for a kids cartoon show focused on laughter, family, and African American culture (I know Orlando Brown was the original Sticky and may have his own issues that prevented his involvement, but there are articles that indicate he was removed in order to "expand (the Proud Family) world."). Overall, it's not very good, and I'm not inclined to watch more. Pass.
  • This is a reboot worth forgetting. Louder and Prouder is louder but has nothing to be proud of. Prouder lacks the nuance of the original to tackle such topics like race, gender, history and the life as a teenager in America. The old show had solid story, morals, and messages about not judging people based on skin color and to judge them based on actions. To see a person as a person. This show lacks all of that. This reboot show just makes me wish for the old show. The only reason it get the 2 is because of the old show existed and some of the returning Voice actors. Don't waste your time watching even 5 minutes of this version. Watch the original from the 2000's its way better. It has heart soul and the kinds of lessons people need today. Not this divisive stuff.

    um..
As someone who has never watched the original, I was going into this blind, and must I say, I was quite disappointed as a whole. While yes, the show has potential, it was just executed TERRIBLY.

The show sets on good topics, but, like I said the execution of the topics are terrible. They show LGBT+ as stereotypical greedy/rude people almost immediately with the characters Michael and (I don't even know if he has a name) but Make-up boy, which reminds me of James Charles. The characters overall are generally dislikable with no general reason to like them, Penny's friends are honestly just fake. They try to make it more modern and use 'modern' slang that I wouldn't even consider modern as not much people even use them anymore. The slang consists of, "bae" and other things that even I wouldn't use.

My sister put this on without me even knowing what it was, the amount of cringe I had to endure was insane. I decided to look up the series and found that it is generally terrible and so I decided to look at the reviews and see if it is what people say. While I will say that it's ok to watch when you are severally bored, the cringe is just terrible..
