Intro- This is arguably one of my most favorite shows in the entire world, a series about two guys starting from the ground up to become famous skaters, no I do know that things did happen rather quickly in the show than they probably would in real life. But that's honestly what made this series progress even faster. Meeting new characters and learning new skills, All the while trying to with their normal lives which is not so normal when you look at it. These two to go through so many trials everyday that it honestly seems normal to them.

The characters- The characters are definitely one of the things that made up the show, you have Luther Waffles, which in itself is already a very outgoing name. His name is definitely paired with this personality where he's weird and funny but still has the deep sense of common wisdom that he gains from his best friend in the entire world, Zeke Falcone. Zeke is a character that I don't think any other show has ever had, He's very serious but funny, he doesn't have too big of strong intelligence but he has the most wisdom of any character I've ever seen from any TV show, let alone a Disney show. The reason I think Zeke and Luther are such a great pair is because they seem as if they are total opposites, but they are truly the same in a lot of senses. Which is why they are and I quote "Best Bros". There are a lot of other side characters that definitely develop over time, like (Cornelius Jonesworth) or commonly known as "Kojo". He definitely plays a part in the show, being the funny and charismatic character, definitely goes on par with the top cast, since he is apart of that. He was in almost the same amount of episodes as the actors who played Zeke and Luther. They're also a whole bunch of other characters that I won't go into, But they are definitely well written out. The way I see it is that every single character in the show has a small trait or small similarity to what the main character, Zeke has, not saying that Zeke isn't original because he obviously has his own traits. But I feel like has the comedy sense of Luther, the charisma of Kojo and if you want the series you'll definitely see how he relates to a lot of other characters hence, why he is the main character. As he helps develop other characters he unknowingly develops himself. There are definitely a bunch of episodes where you can see this happening but I'm not going to spoil anything.

The location- The show takes place in Gilroy, California. Which I thought on my life was fictional. Now I highly doubt that everything was filmed in the actual city of Gilroy. But saying in the show that they are in Gilroy definitely plays an impact on them. The two guys live in a place that was rather unknown. It wasn't horribly unknown in the show at least, mainly because there were still famous people that would drop by, and still things you wouldn't find in a tiny town. But that didn't mean that this place was very well known. If you would ever think of two guys from California trying to become famous skaters, you'd automatically assume L. A or some big city like that, not Gilroy. Like any typical skater they have their very own skate spot "Ramps" which to us it just seems like the back of someone building. Not to them it's the start of career, a beginning really can learn tricks and do big things that will hopefully lead to even bigger things.

Overall- The likelihood of any of the people that wrote this show seeing this review, is fairly low. Honestly I would like to say that this show has honestly had such a huge impact on me, this show made me want to do so many things whenever I was younger, they gave me listen to freedom that it doesn't matter where you're from or who you are or how you do things in your everyday life if you stick to one thing you can definitely make it out there. This show has made me laugh and also made me feel a deep sense of sadness but brought me a lot closer to things that I never thought I needed. Zeke's love for skating, has never stopped. From every fall to every land he's just kept going, And if in the fictional world that we see on the streaming platforms, like Zeke and Luther. If he could ever become a massive skater, someone like Tony hawk. If there's anyone in this world that deserves it, HE, is most definitely that person.

At the end of the show, the final episode, we don't know if Zeke, Luther or Kojo went off to be famous skaters, they might have just ended up working at dons donuts. But the reason i don't think that, is this. In the end, the three guys are acting their normal selves. As they ride their boards out of ramps, in a direction leaving ramps we rarely see, we know, that they will one do do big things.

    I highly recommend this show

  • The new Disney show "Zeke and Luther" (2009) is what would happen if "Drake and Josh" suddenly became skater boyz. Drake takes on the 1982 speech patterns of "Fast Time at Ridgement High's" surfer dude Jeff Spicoli and is named Zeke (played by Hutch Dano – perhaps an inside joke on "Starsky and Hutch" and "Hawaii Five-O"). Poor Josh is re-named Luther (Adam Hicks), he seems to have lost a lot of IQ points and to have acquired the vaguely irritating 1998 speech patterns of Seth Green's character in "Can't Hardly Wait". Megan keeps her fearsome personality but is now named Ginger (Ryan Newman).

"Zeke and Luther" is getting a lot of repeat play these days on Disney XD-the successor to "Toon Disney", so it should not be hard to track it down for viewing if the basic premise seems interesting to you.

The supporting characters are all caricatures to varying degrees and this fits nicely with the slightly off-kilter backlot production design of the show.

"Zeke and Luther" is a bit dumbed down relative to "Drake and Josh"; going after a younger and less sophisticated demographic, although there is some overlap.

The show does occasionally surprise and throws in some really clever stuff. Especially noteworthy were several scenes between Dano and Abigail Mavity in the "Donut Jockey" episode. Mavity appears in four short segments of this episode; each time playing a subtly different version of her character and each time effortlessly selling the new version. She is helped by nice work from the wardrobe and makeup people, plus excellent acting for the camera direction; but her acting skills are extremely impressive. Casting people would be wise to put Mavity very high on a short list of extremely talented young actors.

Then again, what do I know? I'm only a child.

This show is awful. It is like a live-action version of that horrible cartoon of Nickelodeon, "Rocket Power". But to be honest, "Zeke and Luther" is even worse than Rocket Power.

Why? Mostly because the characters of this show are stupid, incredibly stupid and lame, and all of them are unlikeable, flat and one dimensional.

The other reason why this show sucks so much, it is because it is terribly unfunny. I never saw a show so unfunny and annoying like this since I saw one episode of the dreadful "ICarly".

"Zeke and Luther" is a complete waste of time. It is idiotic, boring and predictable. It is bad for children and adults as well.

I would give this zero stars if I could.
  • Zeke and Luther is a show about two older teens who encounter sometimes odd neighborhood problems that they navigate with unexpected laugh-a- minute punchlines and visual comedy executed perfectly by this well-cast group of young, talented actors. It stars Hutch Dano, Adam Hicks, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Ryan Newman. The actors are actual skateboarders which adds a nice fluidity to the scenes. It's obvious that the episodes are not rushed. Whereas Drake and Josh comes off like a school play.

This show is more than one step up from the old show 'Drake and Josh'. A refreshing difference is that 'Zeke and Luther' parents are never seen or heard and are rarely mentioned (slow butter!). It's refreshing to stay in just the one mindset of the kids. Extremely well cast and written, it's popular with parents too. I'm delighted that this show was picked up for a third season. Ooh Watch Out! (Slap)

The show is a very poor formula that's been overly used by Disney shows a good decade before this. It's not even the fact that it's basically a reincarnation of previous productions smashed together with a Skateboarding twist. It's the fact that everything is done in such low quality that make this lack-luster. The humour doesn't make sense in its entirety. The humour I got from this show was watching the blank unimpressed faces of my niece(7yrs) and nephew(5yrs). I've never seen such an astonishing thing seeing as they love almost anything that Disney produces.

I can't just fault the jokes, but the writing as a whole; The dialogue & the plot(s) were low quality. It really did feel like they hired some random humour-lacking 6th graders to write for the show. The writers are all 30yrs+ old and this is what they are producing... shameful. Everything in this show was predicted by my niece and nephew minutes before it happened. The 1st episode was horribly structured and rushed. Taking 2 kids which are virtually strangers to the audience then quickly making them pro-skateboarders in which the mischief and awkward situations ensue to an anti-climatic ending. The only dilemma in the episode was Zeke's(Hutch Dano) toe in the faucet and Luther's (Adam Hicks) bad neck. The whole situation with Zeke's Toe and Faucet is, well, as my niece said "dumb" and she said that with great distaste. Luther's neck injury just doesn't make sense overall. Someone that young would need a more forceful and violent action to sustain a neck injury like he did; It's not like he was 40yrs of age.

Then there's the acting, very heavily exaggerated and sarcastic to the point that everything they do displays these two emotions and nothing else. It's almost as if the talent doesn't care about the characters in which the characters look like they care about the situations they encounter. Not surprised that they went through 3 directors in 9 episodes, the actors looked slightly confused and lost in their performances. The only talent doing their job well was Ryan Newman, but again very unoriginal character and the writers didn't develop her character enough to be meaningful to the show.

The only thing they got right was the complex love/hate of the skateboarding community. The skateboarding community is very much an Elitist community, however respect is given conditionally. They did capture this with the camaraderie between Zeke, Luther and Kojo(Dan Curtis Lee) in the first episode. After that however writers become to fictional. They make it seem like becoming a pro is nothing but a snap of the fingers. There are so many steps and hardships involved with the progression of becoming a professional skateboarder that this is nothing but a huge insult to any skateboarder out there doing it as a career or aspiring to go professional.

Terrible acting and plotlines. even for a kids show
  • This show is a sitcom about two skaters who decide to go pro, Zeke and Luther, it's a great show and follows its theme from start to end.
  • When I 1st heard about this show back in 2007/2008 or sometime like that, I really perceived it as 2 idiots who thought they were so cool simply because they skateboard, and I never watched until this summer when I finally decided to give it a chance, and guess what, I ended up liking it!!!! I think Hutch Dano and Adam Hicks are funny guys, and I'll be honest with U, I only started watching this show after I had already seen Lemonade Mouth and that's because I used to think Adam Hicks was retarded because of this show, but now I see that in real life, He's a cool, collected and serious guy. I have to admit that Daniel Curtis Lee(Kojo) is somewhat of an over actor and he makes his character seem so crazy and out of control, especially with his facial expressions. As much newfound respect I have for this show, I have to say that it's true that Zeke and Luther has some similarities with Drake and Josh, in terms of the character's personalities. I give this show an 8/10 because it's not the best but it's far from terrible.
  • This show is so amazing for adults and kids please watch!!!!!!!
