J.K. Simmons isn’t shy about backing his characters. When asked how Omni-Man would do against Superman and Homelander, he didn’t hold back.
He made it clear there was only one way it would go. He’d win. Not just win, but dominate. In his words, he’d take them both ‘one hand for each’ and handle them at the same time. No hesitation. No doubt. That’s how strong he thinks Omni-Man is.
Simmons’ confidence isn’t surprising. Omni-Man, from Invincible, isn’t just powerful—he’s ruthless. Unlike Superman, who holds back, and Homelander, who is unstable, Omni-Man fights to win. He doesn’t play by any moral code. He has decades of experience wiping out entire planets. That’s a different level of danger.
Superman is often seen as the ultimate superhero. His strength, speed, and heat vision make him almost unstoppable. But he follows strict rules.

Fans of "The Big Bang Theory" know that, for twelve seasons and the same number of years, Kaley Cuoco brought some much-needed levity to the role of Penny, the beautiful and outgoing aspiring actress who moves into the apartment across the hall from Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki). Penny is basically an audience surrogate who hangs out with a group of intensely nerdy guys with a ton of esoteric knowledge about science and pop culture.
As the resident "normie," Penny translates their nonsense for the viewers and, within the universe of the show, helps all of the guys evolve. Leonard, Penny's on-again, off-again boyfriend, is a much better person after he spends years as Penny's partner. Penny ultimately breaks Sheldon's barriers down to the point where he considers her one of his best friends in the world.

The third season of Invincible is off and running on Prime Video, and the reviews have been glowing. This animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman's superhero comic book is hard-hitting, funny, brutal and more complex than you might think at first glance. There are a ton of characters to follow, each with their own struggles and backstories. The show is only getting more narratively ambitious as it goes, serving up meaty character drama in between bone-crunching fights.
Season 3 will run through next month, but you might already be jonzing for more shows like Invincible. If so, you're in luck, because there are a lot of options. Here are some other series — both animated and live-action, some about superheroes and some not — that deliver some of what Invincible delivers:
The Boys season 4 on Prime Video | Invincible 1. The Boys (Prime Video)
Prime Video is the premiere streaming service for ultra-violent, original superhero shows.

Back in 2014, Kevin Feige pulled a fast one on us. He teased Captain America: Serpent Society before revealing the real title—Civil War. It was a joke at the time, but now, a decade later, the Serpent Society is finally getting its moment in Captain America: Brave New World. And according to director Julius Onah, this is just the beginning.
‘We’ve talked about the Serpent Society from the start,’ Onah says. ‘There’s a lot more story to tell.’ Marvel producer Nate Moore backs him up, explaining that the group was never meant to be a throwaway reference.
In the new film, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America and Danny Ramirez’s Falcon face off against the Serpent Society, a deadly special-ops team. They’re stealing adamantium for a mysterious buyer, and their leader, Sidewinder, played by Giancarlo Esposito, proves to be a force to be reckoned with.

In 2006, Casino Royale kicked off a new era of James Bond movies that would last all the way through 2021's No Time To Die, when Daniel Craig would officially retire as 007. So far as we know, producers are no closer to casting a new James Bond; apparently there's internal trouble at the studios. While we wait for them to sort things out, the YouTube channel Ron South has posted a bunch of videos of now-famous actors who auditioned to play James Bond for Casino Royale way back when. They include heavy hitters like Avatar star Sam Worthington, The Boys breakout Antony Starr, and the internet's favorite hunky nerd Henry Cavill.
Let's look at Sam Worthington's audition first. All three of these guys audition with the same scene, from 1995's Goldeneye, which starred Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. In this scene, Bond is playing a flirty game of Baccarat with femme fatale Xenia Onatopp,...

Paramount has shared the first teaser for Novocaine, an action-comedy starring Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder that blends high-stakes thrills with dark humour. Directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, the film is set to hit cinemas on March 14, 2025, with its unique premise and charismatic cast positioning it as a standout in the crowded spring release slate.
Quaid plays Nathan Caine, an introverted everyman with a rare genetic disorder that makes him impervious to physical pain. While this condition has kept him isolated for most of his life, it unexpectedly becomes his greatest weapon when his new girlfriend (Midthunder) is kidnapped during a bank heist. With no ability to feel injury, Nathan is forced into action, navigating a series of chaotic, high-octane situations that transform him from an unassuming outsider into an unlikely hero.
The film’s supporting cast includes Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, Matt Walsh, Lou Beatty Jr., Van Hengst,...

Many actors have come close to playing James Bond over the years, with Henry Cavill among the biggest names to have missed out on playing the iconic Sir Ian Fleming creation.
The former Superman was among those eyed to star as 007 when the role was being recast - and the franchise was getting a reboot - for 2006's Casino Royale. Daniel Craig beat Cavill to it, playing a blonde Bond (a controversial move at the time) we bid a permanent farewell to in 2021's No Time to Die.
There's still no word on who will replace Craig and, if recent reports are to be believed, franchise producer Barbara Broccoli and Amazon are butting heads about the property's future.
Now, though, Cavill's 007 audition from 2005 has leaked online (via ActioNewz.com). The YouTuber who uploaded it says "This Video came from a VHS Tape found in a recycling Bin at a Movie Studio,...

Almost 20 years ago, we got the best Bond movie ever made with 2006's "Casino Royale." After more than 40 years of the Bond saga, Daniel Craig and the Bond producers pulled off a truly impressive feat by reinventing the super spy for a whole new generation. Taking cues from the genre-redefining grittiness of "The Bourne Identity," "Casino Royale" introduced a Bond for the post-9/11 world — a tortured loner who exuded an incongruously intense insouciance. While Craig could project the 007 cool the character was known for, he also seemed to be seething in some awful way just below the surface.
Sadly, as more Craig-led movies arrived, they got progressively worse, culminating in the absurd finale of "No Time to Die," in which the tortured loner introduced in "Casino Royale" goes out in spectacular fashion after being blown up in a torrent of ballistics. It was a sad end to a Bond tenure...

Fans of ‘The Boys’ are buzzing after a rare, long-forgotten screen test of Antony Starr for the role of James Bond from 2005 was leaked online. Alongside other potential Bond candidates like Henry Cavill, Rupert Friend, and Sam Worthington, Starr’s audition is getting a lot of attention—and it’s safe to say fans are loving it!
The four-and-a-half-minute video was uploaded on YouTube by Ron South, and it takes us back to when Starr, best known for his portrayal of the terrifying Homelander in The Boys, was trying out for the role of 007. This screen test likely took place when the filmmakers were preparing for ‘Casino Royale,’ the 2006 film that marked Daniel Craig’s debut as James Bond. At that time, Pierce Brosnan had already wrapped up his run as the iconic spy in 2002, and a new face was being considered for the role.

Movie lovers would be hard-pressed to find a movie role that comes with as much pressure, drama, and, oh yeah, controversy as James Bond. The general public is still waiting on pins and needles to see who officially takes the torch from the irreplaceable Daniel Craig, with rumors strongly pointing to "Kraven the Hunter" star Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the next man up to inherit the mantle. So, while the future of the franchise remains somewhat cloudy, what better time to look back at the past and consider all the what-ifs that could've potentially come to fruition?

Prime Video's subversive superhero series The Boys is one of the best genre shows out there. The show takes everything you know about the superhero genre and flips it on its head. And it's pretty timely too, offering up a daring take on how modern politics may play out if those in charge had superpowers.
The main show will conclude with its fifth season, which is slated to premiere sometime in 2026. But fear not, series creator Eric Kripke is keen to expand its horizons through a number of spinoff projects. Sophie Thatcher may not quite be a household name, at least not yet, anyway. For horror lovers of the world, however, she has quickly ascended the Hollywood ranks to become one of our modern go-to stars for high-profile genre fare. To that end, Thatcher is now headlining director Drew Hancock's "Companion," which /Film's Chris Evangelista hailed as the first great movie of 2025. Not only is the movie damn good, but it also had a damn fine opening weekend at the box office.
"Companion" opened to an estimated $9.5 million, debuting in second domestically behind the unexpectedly big animated hit "Dog Man" ($36 million), which hails from DreamWorks. A new report suggests the regional sports channel might be partnering with Prime Video in the near future.
Regional sports networks (RSNs) might be a risky investment in the eyes of most these days, but Amazon apparently doesn’t see it that way. Amazon already has a deal with Main Street Sports Group — formerly Diamond Sports Group — to distribute FanDuel Sports Network RSNs, and it may be close to a new agreement with another big-name regional sports channel. The New York Post was first to report that Msg Networks could be eyeing Amazon as a potential ally in its fight to stave off bankruptcy.
Key Details: Msg defaulted on loans from creditors in October and has been seeking to avoid bankruptcy ever since. A carriage dispute with Optimum has knocked Msg off TV for a million customers. Carrying the channel via Prime Video would give fans another streaming alternative to watch.

Prime Video's Invincible has proven itself one of the best superhero shows in the universe, and season 3 continues to show why it deserves such praise. The new season focuses heavily on Mark's personal life; from nurturing his fast-growing brother Oliver to balancing saving the planet with his personal relationships, he's a busy guy.
This is a spoiler-free review of the third season, so read without worry. We have only seen the first six episodes of the eight-episode season.
Invincible season 3 starts off pretty much where season 2 left off. After being warned by the Viltrumite Empire that they will return to monitor his progress preparing Earth for their takeover, Mark Grayson undergoes a difficult training regime. He's stronger and faster than ever.
The new season balances tons of storylines; more than ever before, and that's really saying something. If it weren't for the recaps at the start of each episode, I'd struggle to remember certain arcs.

It took several decades and a few dozen superhero films to open the genre to unique storytelling. Of course, Invincible and The Boys landed within a short timeline at Amazon, but both series have shown different approaches to the post-modern superhero critique. Based on the comic book series from Robert Kirkman Invincible continues to push the boundaries of what this devastation would feel like to those in the world. Throughout Invincible Season 3, questions of guilt and anger loom over Mark and his family. At the same time, there’s hope to carve one’s own path. It’s another excellent season, and one that reminds us that Invincible truly is one of the most emotionally mature shows on television.

Laverne Cox and George Wallace star in this heartfelt, hilarious father-daughter story.
I really love it when streamers tell stories that aren’t carbon copies of what’s come before. That’s why I’m excited for Prime Video’s new comedy series, “Clean Slate” dropping Thursday, Feb. 6. The show follows Desiree (Laverne Cox) as she comes back to her small Alabama hometown to reconnect with her old-school dad, Harry (George Wallace). The catch? He doesn’t know that she transitioned. There’s bound to be a lot of heart and laughs (and a little bit of chaos) as these two unpack the unexpected reunion and all the baggage that comes with it. Here’s everything you need to know about “Clean Slate.”

Be it Katana from Suicide Squad or Kimiko from The Boys, Karen Fukuhara never fails to impress viewers. Apart from being an up-and-coming promising actress, she is a multifarious artist.
From acting to acapella, the actress has dabbled in various art forms. This also applies to her role as a dub artist. With her role in The Boy and the Heron, though, she might have had an upper hand over the entire cast.

Particularly, her role brought out her finesse as a multifaceted artist in every aspect. It also sheds light on the concerns related to the process of dubbing masterpieces.
Overall, though, it doesn’t negate the understated masterpiece the 2023 film truly is. Be it dubbing or premise, Ghibli truly lived up to its legacy as a stellar animation studio.

Doctor Manhattan, one of the principal characters of Watchmen, was a little difficult for Zack Snyder to adapt in his adaptation of the graphic novel. While a lot of the effects that he used are practical, Manhattan was completely CGI, which posed a few challenges for Snyder, especially thanks to the nature of the character.

Doctor Manhattan is one of the more introverted characters in the DC canon, the kind that doesn’t really take part in any sort of overt acting sequences that merit dynamic camera movement and complex CGI. The character, as he is rendered, is mostly standing, narrating, and observing, which could be very difficult to do properly.

Netflix announced this week that it’s traveling back to Walnut Grove by ordering a reboot of my favorite childhood series. I’m dumbfounded.
Little House on the Prairie, the beloved 1970s drama starring Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert, should stay nostalgic and beloved.
Not every old television show needs to be modernized, even if it has recently experienced a resurgence in streaming.
(NBC/Screenshot)
Netflix ordered the series shortly after Nielson reported that viewers watched 13.25 billion minutes of Little House on the Prairie on Peacock over the past year. That is impressive.
CBS Studios is producing the new Little House. Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys) is the showrunner, and Trip Friendly of Friendly Family Productions is also an executive producer.
They’ll do another reimagining of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book series. The official logline reads as follows:

Max got plenty of afterglow from the big “Hacks” best comedy Emmy win this fall, but series producer Universal TV would appreciate some of that halo too. “Ted Lasso” is Apple TV+’s biggest hit, but give some credit to the company behind the show, Warner Bros. TV studios are flexing their brand muscle more than ever in the streaming age. Studios have been more aggressive in getting their names out there and making sure viewers learn which company is actually producing their favorite series.
Most programs now kick off with a vanity card announcing the production company at the start of each episode. That messaging — like “A Sony Pictures Television Studios Production” or “A Warner Bros. Television Production” — used to appear...

Original “Little House on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert fired back at Megyn Kelly over a comment the former Fox News host made about Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of the classic book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Variety confirmed on Jan. 29 that Netflix is developing a new “Little House on the Prairie” series. Gilbert was the star of NBC’s popular TV adaptation of Wilder’s book series, which aired for nine seasons and 204 episodes between 1974 and 1982.
“Netflix, if you woke-ify ‘Little House on the Prairie’ I will make it my singular mission to absolutely ruin your project,” Megyn Kelly posted on X while sharing the news of the Netflix reboot.
Gilbert responded on Threads and encouraged Kelly to “watch any episode on any streaming platform anywhere in the world.”
“Apparently Megyn tweeted (I’m not on that platform) asking that Netflix not ‘woke-Ify’ their ‘Little House’ remake,” Gilbert added in a longer statement.

There is a wildcard at every wedding, but in the case of “You’re Cordially Invited,” there are two. And they are played by Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
Now streaming on Prime, the film directed by Nicholas Stoller centers on two families who unknowingly double book their weddings at the same small inn — an inn that can really only accommodate one wedding. For Jim (Ferrell), it is his daughter’s, and for Margot (Witherspoon), it is her sister’s. Naturally, the two immediately go insane, trying to force the other to back down.
Somehow, Ferrell and Witherspoon have never led a comedy together, but they are doing it now with a very familiar cast.
Here are the major players you need to know.

As the cast for Scream 7 continues to grow with filming now underway, a new puzzling addition has just been announced. Deadline reports that Scream 3 actor Scott Foley has joined the cast.
The seventh installment is set to release in theaters on February 27, 2026.
Naturally, character details are under wraps at this point, but Foley previously played Roman Bridger, the half-brother of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), who was revealed to be Ghostface in Scream 3. Roman didn’t survive the events of the third entry, so start speculating now whether Roman will get resurrected in some way or whether Foley’s casting hints toward a more meta approach in the upcoming sequel.
The only plot detail released so far is that the seventh installment is expected to return the focus to Sidney Prescott and her family. If Foley does wind up reprising Roman Bridger, that further supports Scream 7 as a Prescott family affair.

Little House on the Prairie was a staple in many homes in the 1970s. The wholesome goodness of the show was a bit of a reprieve from the news at the end of the Vietnam War and the oil crisis later in the decade. People could tune into the show, feel good about life for a bit, and then go back to their regular lives.
The NBC series was adapted from Laura Ingalls Wilder's books mostly stemmed from the 1930s and 1940s. What viewers saw when they tuned in between 1974 and 1983, with over 200 total episodes, was not something they would have seen in the '70s. Life seemed more quaint on Little House, even though it was fraught with some danger, too.

Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books, beloved by children (and former children) of many generations, are based on her own tales of growing up in the American West in the 1800s. Written during the Great Depression and first published in the 1930s, Wilder’s stories were adapted into the hit TV series Little House on the Prairie, which ran for nearly a decade in the 1970s and into the ’80s. Rebecca Sonnenshine, is shepherding the new series as showrunner and executive producer. And, like everyone before her who became engrossed in the adventures of the Ingalls family, Sonnenshine is a lifelong fan.
