  • So many porn directors are either anonymous or little-known, I was surprised to get too much information about Penthouse Video regular Guy Capo in this misguided and self-indulgent feature shot near the beginning of Kelly Holland/Toni English's tenure at the company. Capo hogs writing, directing and editing credits, and completes the Orson Welles wannabe stunt by appearing frequently in black & white footage doing a poor stand-up comedy routine.

Was this all meant to be an audition for a mainstream career at Penthouse's expense? In any event the attempted '60s-era nostalgia (signaled by the DVD's title) and social commentary by the auteur is too dumb to be taken seriously.

Various skits are the excuse to have Penthouse models hump away as usual, with Abbey Brooks easily taking breast in show, while the inevitable team of Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo kill off a couple of reels. Capo's ineptness prevents this from achieving any crossover audience, as it fails to be far out enough or psychotronic (as my old friend Michael Weldon used to determine) in content to amuse non-porn fans.
