Samantar is a tale of mystery and intrigue, intricately woven with a tinge of supernatural; making it an interesting watch.
What if someone's past is the future that you are going to live !!! Scary tagline indeed !!
A loser , Kumar (Swapnil Joshi), frustrated with his life is taken by his friend to a Swamiji to know his future. Upon reading his palm , the Swamiji tells him that he has seen an indentical case around 30 yrs ago and their fates are interlinked. That persons past is going to be the future that Kumar is going to live . Strange events start happening in his life that set him on a quest to locate that person,Sudarshan Chakrapani and gain a better understanding about misfortunes faced by him throughout his life. Does such a person actually exist? Will Kumar's life change for the better or not, forms the rest of the story.
Finally a decent web series in marathi without the usual preachiness. Very well directed by Satish Rajwade , who has given us gems in the past like Asambhav. The very first episode sets the tone perfectly and maintains it throughout its run. Good Production value , awesome acting by Swapnil Joshi , Tejaswini Pandit , Nitish Bharadwaj and the others keep you engrossed throughout.
A treat for lovers of the thriller genre for sure. Short episodes also make it an ideal weekend binge watching option. Go watch it if you havent already!! -
nitinpadarath27 March 2020Samantar .... Writer Amber Hadap and director Satish Rajwade made a very good story of Samantar. The first time I saw a different subject in Marathi, I first admire it. Swapnil Joshi, Krishna Bhardwaj, Tejaswini Pandit and all other actor's are doing good. It is strange to see that one person's present life course was another person's past. It remains intriguing and the story remains to be seen what will happen next. Narratives of a different subject should appear in Marathi and should be well presented. Waiting for next season

connectwithramiz31 October 2020This had potential, but first few episodes are pointless and drag the story. Once it gets interesting they end the season. Another thing i did not like was acting by Swapnil Joshi, it's not like he is a bad actor, but his portrayal of this character was confusing.

Episode 8, when Kumar goes to astrologer who is around 70+ years old man Kumar engulf that old with coller with repeatatively addressing him as Ma*******d...which is not tolerae or acceptable. This is a insult of old citizens as well as satanan dharma.
Such insult of old holy man is not acceptable. -
Chaudhari_M2 July 2021Samantar 1 &2 is marvelous Marathi webseries. All characters are well defined and too good acting. Even though though both actors Swwapnil Joshi & Nitish Bhardwaj playing Lord krishna eventually this show run by these two characters. Overwhelming and mysterious show. Marathi literature itself is so diverse & rich in terms of stories, Marathi industry never really need to worry about lack of good stories.
Upto the mark direction, cinematography, screenplay & damn every single technical aspects. Even location. Must watch both season. -

Samantar is just an outstanding web series based on a popular Marathi book with the same name. Kumar Mahajan finds out that his life is already lived by a person named Sudarshan Chakrapani, and then he decides to find him to know his future. Whether he succeed or not is to be find out... The web series is so intriguing and beautifuly portrayed that it holds you on until you finish. I binge watched it and was so mesmerized! I couldn't figure out till end if the story is finished or there's going to be next episode or a season. Just amazing. The scenarios of chiplun and panhala (kolhapur) is amazing. The camera work is so good and realistic and the actors have done a fantastic work of exactly portraying their character! The story makes us think at the end of its good to know what's going to happen in our lives!

I love to watch web series but trust me this serie just blow my mind. What an epic story and connecting the dots of Present/Past/Future is outstanding with full of mystry !! Just an amazing work by actor,actress,Writter and director awesome .

But use of abusive language, did not made any impact to the story. They could have made the story more thrilling.
They would have used more cinematic liberty. Anyone instead of Sai could have made the impact. While watching it feeling like there are gaps in the story. -

The season 2 ended ona very good note. One can't beat the time and that's the truth. The storyline, screenplay and acting makes you really watch it throughout in one sitting. Such a gripping season. Loved it.
