  • Trigger always never seems to disappoint me with their anime. This was a pretty good watch. My only gripe is with Michiru though. It seems that as the series goes on she discovers she is no ordinary beastman because her form (a tanuki) comes with interesting powers (stretching limbs, growing tail, giant ears, etc.), but she never seems to want to learn how to control these abilities in case she gets into danger. Instead she discovers the ability and then act like it dosesn't afterwards.

Other than that, it is a solid watch
  • BNA was overall a light but enjoyable watch. The animation was stunning and soundtracks were great, but honestly some scenes were oddly mixed with soundtracks, like it didn't exactly fit the mood or was unneccesary at times. Honestly, I would have liked to have seen this take a darker turn or focus more on the dark side of the experiments of Michuru, but it seemed to have been more of a light and friendly theme to the show. Nothing wrong with that, but I think they missed some oppurtunities on diving deeper on some characters/relationships.
  • I really wanted to love this Anime. It had likable Characters, the setting was pretty cool, I enjoyed the overall conflict humanoids had with humans and the Art-Style and Animation are straight up beautiful, but it's story is rather disappointing and leaves a lot of questions unanswered or even untouched. For the most part you kinda forget that there even is a Main-Story and that's ironically exactly when the anime has it's strongest moments, dealing with various topics and conflicts a world divided as this could have. Don't get me wrong, there are some really fun twists and backstory revelations but the Events of the last two episodes make them appear less interesting in retrospect and also feel like they have been added last minute as if the writers themselfes forgot they had a main story to work on.

If I tried to be extra picky I would say that most characters are a little bit naive and easy to convince sometimes (definitely not all but If you have seen the show you know who I mean) ...my least favorite character however was the shows villain whose backstory was just a little bit too far fetched and cheesy for my taste (Not gonna reveal who it is though).

Overall I can't say I didn't have a good time with the series. It's fun and gorgeous to look at, I just see a lot of unused potential maybe a second season could catch up on.

Seriously I was so glad that Trigger gave us a Netflix anime to which we can binge during these hard times. Michiru and Shinrou were definitely one of the best characters on the show, like their teamwork relationship together was really special. The soundtrack of this show is such a banger. I've listened to the op and closing countless of times, they are just so damn bloody good!!!!!!!!

I just wish that the final battle between Alan and the guys was a lot more intense than be way too lighthearted. I mean Alan really wasn't the best type to be an actual bad guy, I would've put him in the antihero section to be honest with ya. I also was confused on how Nazuna and Michiru already made up pretty quickly. Yeah I just felt the ending was rather too rushed, hopefully we get to see more of BNA in the near future. It is a good show but it needs to impress me more to give it a higher score!
  • With no doubt the BEST anime of 2020. S Incredible art and design, top notch animation, extraordinary soundtrack, backed by an amazing and so creative story, it is almost overwhelming! I finished it all in one sitting, I sure hope I'll be able to sleep and not think about BNA all night. Can not wait for season two, I have no doubt it'll be just as gold. Netflix, don't disappoint me !

Decent but there's loads of rushed world building towards the end. Not enough showing, too much telling.

  • Trigger never disappoints! Music, colour palette, animation and character design 10/10 but it lacks on the story, actually it becomes a little boring :( i loved it anyways!
  • I really enjoyed this anime. It's probably now in my top 5 favourites, and I've seen a ton of anime. The ost is amazing, the song choices, the voice acting, the art, THE AMAZING BATTLE ANIMATION, it was all incredible. I'm really hoping to see more greatness out of Trigger studio, and maybe even a season 2? Here's hoping anyways. But I can always tell everything about a character whenever it's animated by Trigger, their expressions and movements are always amazing. This anime was really nice too in the sense that it could be for all audiences, theres media for children in there and media for adults, although maybe don't go showing your kids who are like under 11 this ahah.. but anyways this anime was seriously good and I fell in love with all of the characters! It's also nice to see so many female protagonists from this studio, it really allows us girls to connect with the characters better. Keep up the good work!!

In my opinion it's like a worse version of beastars, I only watched this because I wasn't allowed to watch beastars as i was 13then, now I've watched beastars it really puts things into perspective, please watch beastars it's a lot better.

It has an interesting and engaging plot, its beautifully drawn and I like the colours. The characters are interesting and compelling.

I really like this anime. Before to watch this I watched the Beastars and I think these two anime to different from each other . In my opinion, these two are not comparable at all . The story has holes, but most of them will be fixed by the end of the anime. The relationship between Michiro and Nazona is very sinful and I think it is a weakness. They love each other in the beginning, they get angry later and become more intimate again. Michiro almost understood animals, so why did she not give any advice to Nazona ?? In the final part, we suddenly notice the existence of a pure-blooded goddess with three heads, while until the previous eleven episodes, not even the slightest mention was made of them. Of course, the anime has great music and design. The anime action is also great. The process of conveying emotions to the audience is good. In general, there is an anime that is worth watching and you can enjoy every single moment without bothering the audience with any minor flaws. Finally, I want to apologize because many parts of my Opinion have been translated by Google and there may be some problems. :)

BNA is great in some ways, and in other ways, it's not so great. What's to like? BNA is extremely artistic with a beautiful color palette. The animations are really good too. The voice acting is unique; it doesn't go for some of those really annoying voices in anime. In general, the best part is the art. Also, the final boss battle was really good.

The bad? The plot and characters. For me, the plot isn't that engaging; and I'm not saying it's bad, but I just wasn't that interested. BNA feels like it's going nowhere for the majority of the time. Michiru Kagemori (raccoon/tanuki girl) does a bunch of different things in different episodes without a larger plot. Granted, these episodes are supposed to develop the characters and the world, so I can't hate on it too much. When it comes to the characters, they're okay, none of them are all that interesting.

Overall, BNA is pretty average for an anime. The visuals are really good, and that's the best aspect of BNA in my opinion. The animations were smooth too. The characters aren't that interesting or likable, but at least the voice acting was good. Lastly, the plot felt like it was going nowhere until the last couple of episodes. BNA is a show that's not a must a watch; no one would miss anything by not watching BNA.
  • Probably it's 8 as it is, but not touching my soul enough :). Try it yourself, I really liked this show, much more than Kill la Kill from the same studio. Lore is here, animation is here, OK plot is here.
  • I suck at grammar but I'll try to explain myself the best I can. I love BNA I just finished binge watching it and I can't get enough of it. I have watched anime like beastar and I thought this was similar. In fact it was totally different and probably better. The story line is super good and it's family friendly. There is no chance of your family walking in your room and saying Tsunade all drunk and red bending over and such. For an anime that was not adapted from a manga, this had a lot of thought and creativity used to do this project. I cannot wait for a season 2 and will be depressed if there is no other. Thx you for listening to my review.

This was my first real anime, after Avatar: the last airbender. it's kind of for furries, but it's pretty fun. great visuals, great music, the story isn't great but it doesn't get too much in the way. i'm not a furry.
  • Been a fan of Studio Trigger since discovering Kill la Kill back in 2014. They've definitely had their ups and downs since then. But this is easily the best constructed show of their's since Kill la Kill. Between Promare and BNA, it's clear that Trigger has evolved as a studio. They no longer have to rely on graphic content like fanservice to tell a story. BNA in particular has moments that impressed me where they do things I would never expect from Trigger. There are quiet emotional character moments that have no dialogue or music and work beautifully. It's also a great mix and match of talent at Trigger. Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia) directing, Kazuki Nakashima (Kill la Kill, Promare) writing, and Yusuke Yoshigaki (Space Patrol Luluco) doing the character designs. Their talents blend beautifully together in BNA. Strongly recommend giving this show a try, even if you aren't a fan of Studio Trigger or anime in general.

Everyone says beastars is zootopia but anime But bna is beastars but more anime (and furry)
  • Warning: Spoilers
Light Spoilers BNA is an furry anime. And I am a furry 0_0 Anyway, This show has beautiful visuals. The movements of the characters plus the backgrounds were so stunning. It was very awesome! And the characters were awesome! Especially Shirou Ogami. So BNA is the anime how Beastman that lives separate from humans because humans hate them. So here are the pros about the show: Good Concept - Obviously because it deals with seperation of two species. There are times where the humans are full of hatred for the beastman, to the point where they either attack them or pay beastman to turn against their kind

Visuals - The movements and backgrounds are beautiful

Action - The fighting scenes you see in the anime are awesome. When it came to the action, it had a way to keep me invested. By changing things up or introduce Michiru a new power

Characters - Again, The characters were pretty likeable! Shirou's motivation to protect his kind, Michiru's helpful spirit, The scientists sneakyness, Nazuna's reason to give people hope, and more

But...Here are some cons for the show: Plot - The plot, in my opinion, was a bit lost. I felt like they closed one thing quickly and introduced another thing. Also, Why does Michiru have the ability to shift into any animal. Because I believe the beastman have the abilities based on the species they are.

Basic - I'm just being honest. I really enjoyed the show but I wish they didn't follow in the anime tropes you see these days. Everytime I think about the show, I sometimes smile at how good it was, but then I think about how basic it was. I know not following tropes are hard but it's not impossible.
  • Now this, this is an anime I enjoyed alot. Another great anime from Studio Trigger! This is one that stays on my mind alot and I think about pretty frequently. Our main character, Michiru, is actually a really likeable lead, and the other MC Shriou is just the grumpy grandpa character but he's likeable too! The other characters are great aswell! In addition to that, the animation is absolutely stunning! I loved watching the visual effects of this, especially as it got better as the show went on!

The plot isn't original by many means, and although the ending isn't all that predictable, it's still a pretty popular plot it follows. However, don't let that put you off!

I love this anime. It gives me huge Zootopia vibes. I'm sure this is an anime fans of Beastars can get behind whilst they wait for Season 2! May I also mention that the dub is also really good? Ben did a great job as Shirou in my opinion!

Made an account just so I could get this off my chest.

I just finished watching BNA, after looking forward to it for the longest time and it was like watching someone with really beautiful dolls but not knowing how to play with them.

Characters designs are great, the animation of a quality expected from Trigger (fascinating when things are actually moving) but the plot was a joke and the character interactions like eating cardboard.

It's full of not-so-subtle content rips from other stories that are hot at the moment but haven't fully made it to screen:

BNA has the plot of Zootopia (animals going mysteriously feral) with an immortal white wolf man trying to protect everyone (like the main character of To Your Eternity, recently getting an anime) who keeps saying he only needs his fists not his claws (Like Legosi from Beastars, recently getting an anime) emerged out of a mass grave to seek revenge (like Dorohedoro, recently getting an anime) and ends up fighting what is lamely reminiscent of a battle from a Pokemon movie I would have watched at a sleepover in grade 3.

The only part that made me emotional was when Michiru saw that her mom posted a birthday cake for her on facebook.

All the important things are glossed over, plot points constantly being pulled out of nowhere for shock value, characters that have the bare minimum amount of development, and there's an entire episode devoted to baseball where nothing actually happens (besides showing maybe one of the only actual examples of the prejudices a Beastman faces in human society during the coach's flashback).

It's easy for me to sit back and point out flaws, having done none of the actual work the studio has done, at the end of it all I'm just left wondering why they would choose to put precious time into something so regrettably forgettable.
  • The soundtrack and OP and ending are great. The show is animation is incredible, gives a combination of comedy, mystery, shonen vibe. Seemed to take ques from X-Men as far beast men go on how society is treating them and like a DBZ craziness in the fighting scenes at times. I highly recommend to anyone.

I really enjoyed it. There were definitely some issues for me with the pacing, especially for the first five or so episodes but it was good. I loved the animation and world and characters. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new show to binge watch.

From start to finish the series kept me entertained. I'd say it's fit for most viewers, but not all. It's got some vague political stuff in it, obviously, but nothing you won't get over quickly, no matter if you hate or love politics.

Phenomenal animation, score/soundtrack, storyline, character arcs. Each episode leads well into the next. While I personally the story to go a different direction/ending, I'm pretty sure most viewers would be satisfied with the writing.

Definitely impressive to be able to pull off a story like this, one that will keep you hooked and wanting more.

The best anime series I've ever seen. I watched on Netflix and I immediately loved it. The plot of the series seems to me original and fresh, I didn't reminds me a scene from another movie or series maybe. I'm telling you guys this series is amazing, is a must watch series. My experience in the series was very great, one that I never experienced in a anime series before and I love it. I really really love the character Michiru she's a very adorable and captivating character and the other characters are so great. I can't wait for season 2, I hope it will be release in the next year. For now I'm very happy with this series
