PG-13 | | Adventure, Biography, Drama
A true-life drama, centering on British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett, who disappeared while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon in the 1920s.
The movie does technically follow the story of Fawcett's real-life expedition, but it is not historically accurate, especially when it comes to the portrayal of Fawcett himself and his motivations for the journey.
The Brazilian gave me this to give to you. He said Percy told him you would understand. I have trained myself to be impartial to evidence, but surely... surely this is a sign.
Sir John Scott Keltie: Yes. I will have it examined.
Nina Fawcett: Thank you. That is all I can ask.
Thoughout the movie the English main character communicates to the Indigenous natives with the dialect of Spanish. Considering that the natives have not come into contact with 'the white man' before, there is no way that they could have learnt this language and therefore understand him.
