A number of actors pronounce the name Gemini as "gem-in-eye". While this might be the proper pronunciation for the Gemini "twins" constellation (a name that was chosen because of the two-man crews), throughout NASA and the media, the name was pronounced jim-inny, like Disney's Jiminy Cricket. As this does not refer to the constellation but to a specific spaceflight program, the "Jiminy" pronunciation is considered to be correct.
