The studio behind Nightshift also make a handful of other paranormal shows that I enjoy, and this one is mostly on par. (Paranormal Emergency, Haunted Hospitals, etc.)

The narrator's voice is way over-the-top and sounds more ridiculous than ominous, and the fake "Hallway Cams" aren't necessary. I can't tell if they think I believe it's real, therefore insulting the viewer's and my intelligence, or if it's just trying to create a narrative by showing you parts of the story.

Note: Unless you can find someone who has a narrative voice similar to Anthony Call in "A Haunting", I'd just do without that effect.
  • This show is absolutely terrifying to watch and keeps you fully entertained throughout. Hopefully they make a second series.
  • I made it a full 8 minutes before tapping out. Can't do it any further than that. In that time I heard a few repetitions of the action with narration that is purposefully done to sound deep and foreboding.

Then at the 8 minute mark, they summarize, review and replay scenes of what they have just shown us?! What the hell people !!!

Reenactments are garbage. Investigators come in to check things out and set up all these cameras and recorders yet there's no actual footage shown, what kind of crap is that? Another one of those ridiculous fake paranormal shows that flood the Travel channel!!
  • I tapped out by episode 2. They tried WAY too hard to be scary, to the extent that it just came off excessively cheesy and way overstimulating. I honestly felt like we had a stronger focus on the investigative side of the paranormal in 2023 and that the over the top "evil entity" narrative filled with bogus jump scares, fake sound effects and fake footage would start to come to an end. If you really want a good paranormal show, watch Kindred Spirits. This show was just way too much ridiculousness, from the narrator to the constant fake screams and startle sounds. It plays out like an over budgeted horror movie begging to be relevant. Some of the stories with the interviewees are pretty cool, that's the only reason it got 2 stores. Way too overdone and inauthentic.
