  • Compared to American Horror Story this one is pretty mediocre. There are only a couple stories that were worth a watch but nothing really mesmerizing. The other episodes were borderline boring and sometimes childish. I would have prefered another complete season of AHS than this one to be honest. Most of the actors were okay, but not all of them. The horror wasn't what I expected it to be, pretty lame in certain stories. I guess I will watch another season if there's one, just to see if it gets better but if it isn't then it will be over for me.
  • Every person in the school looks close to 30 which is really messing with my immersion, especially when you compare it to the believable school and students in Murder House.

    Why
Why why why did they make this utter rubbish. Why my eyes why.
  • I'm an avid Murphy/Falchuk fan, that likes most of their work and has watched all of the AHS seasons (some of those were also not of their previous caliber). The first season of Stories is boring, lacks substance and frankly, is a strange offering from a franchise that's given so much variety and talent. It received many bad reviews. I believe they have listened to what has been said.

Season 2 of Stories is interesting, creative, spooky and imaginative, with original ideas and great acting. Some fan favourites return and some history from AHS looks back at us (if you've watched the show you'll know what I'm talking about, I won't spoil the fun). It's creepy and entertaining.

I had already rated the previous season with a 5, which was quite generous and have now changed it to a 7.

Some really talented actors in this show but unfortunately the episodes are pretty bad. Good ideas were there, just really badly executed. I really didn't see the need to revisit the murder house; they should have left it as it was. Out of 7 episodes, 3 were set in the murder house. I do like the ideas behind the storylines, they were interesting, but really lacking in the imagination that is usually brought. Of course we as an audience are going to compare it to AHS, and this seems lazy in comparison, I wonder....what was the point? I see it's been renewed but I will not be watching as I didn't enjoy it enough to continue. Best episode for me was probably Feral, followed by Drive-In. Ba'al was good but I found that to be far too predictable. The Christmas episode could have been good but ended up being complete trash.

It's fun and nostalgic with new stories. Worth watching if your of fan of AHS. Other reviews way to harsh on this series.

    Welp
Congratulations on, almost, ruining the AHS franchise. I'm done with AHStories and will hope that AHS new season returns to what we expected. I don't think I've ever witnessed such a dramatic fall from amazing to failure between these seasons.
  • The dads are decent actors I guess as was the therapist but can't carry the show.

The 'teen' actors all look 30 and are terrible actors. I spent most of their scenes waiting for them to be over.

It's like someone put a teen drama in the AHS house and they are play acting.

I tried to force myself to watch both episodes and gave up half way thru the second episode.

Someone call me when the grownups get back...
  • So far, this new series seems to lack the spark of the original series. Besides the more seasoned actors, the other acting seems robotic. It's as though I'm having a dream about American Horror Story; some of the people and scenery are familiar, but there's something off. This may be appealing to those CW fans who value style over substance, but for me I need more than just pretty people who kill. However, I want to be fair so I'll keep watching to see where this goes.
  • Spin-offs of original series or movies are rarely good, so given that I'd say this did much better than expected. I'll first point out the bad part. The plotline was too predictable, cliche and boring on quite a few parts. So much erotic scenes were unnecessary, it's supposed to be a horror story not 50 shades of grey. To all those people blaming on nepotism, I've got to say one thing, WAKE UP! Majority of stars in Hollywood are self made and just a few are celeb kids. So they would not get any chance? Is it their fault that their parents are famous? I think Kaia did a fabulous job and Paris Jackson was deliciously wonderful as the "mean girl". If you think they're cringey, go back and watch it again.... it's the plot that's cringey. Unlike most celeb kids these two actually have talent. Had they gotten a better script you could have seen them in their best. They still did pretty amazing. Instead of blaming them blame the lousy plotline for heaven's sake. And yes, Paris Jackson is hot! Bring her back for more.
  • I cannot, for the life of me, see why there are so many reviews over 5 stars. This show, at most, is a 5/10 and that's just because they didn't film it on an Android. The acting is comical, the plot line is so confusing it's nauseating. Think Riverdale but just so much worse.

This is just another show to add to the pile of COVID quick cash grabs. Please don't believe those positive reviews, these shows are just unacceptable.
  • I discovered this series after the last OG AHS ended and it was refreshing as hell! Everyone wants to talk on this spin off but so many stories stand out over that trash fire split season (let's be real here). I don't know what they were thinking. The stories aren't all great, don't get me wrong, but I'll still watch this season knowing there will gems. Let's hope the up coming OG season restores my faith in the series.
  • I feel that it's basically like if they took the old Tales From The Crypt show formula and tried to bring it back for today's audience. And like all things they try to bring back because of nostalgia or that, it is never as good or entertaining as it once was. American Horror Stories is a series in which each episode is its own little short story kind of thing, which no plot connections to other episodes. The epsiodes are basically hit or miss. Some episodes have a good entertaining story, some not so much. Don't go into it expecting A+ acting from these people. Sure there are a couple big name actors/actresses, but most everyone are people with little experience.
  • I've made it through 3 episodes now and I don't even think I can finish the third episode. I find it hard to believe any adults will enjoy this series. It's pretty cringe and teen-geared apparently. I went to look at reviews to see if anyone else had said what I was thinking, and the comment I found that said it the best was "I'd rather watch a dog die, and I love dogs." He nailed it.
  • You guys are literally doing the most in these reviews. This is a "SPIN-OFF" ffs, this is not American horror story, it's American horror STORIES. Don't rate the show when only 2 episodes are out. Plus every episode has a whole different story and a whole different cast, so if you wanna be fair, rate the episodes individually.
  • Sure, it's not like AHS completely but it's not bad. All these negative reviews are probably the same people who you see recorded being "Karens". Of the first two episodes, I can't stand Troy. Everyone else was good. Many will disagree with me but, who cares? Watch and form your own opinion.
  • Is it perfection? No. Is AHS? No. Please stop trying to make them the same things. This has all of the elements of AHS that make it a fun spin off. Horror, camp, some familiar faces, "Murphy Boys", and it doesn't take itself nearly as seriously as some of the fans do! There are some flaws here and there, but it definitely has originality and edge of the seat stories. Come on, we have already had Matt Bomer, Paris Jackson, Adrienne Barbeau, and Danny Trejo! I can't wait to see who else pops up. A-list actors and up and coming teen actors are all over this. The development is far superior to any other weekly shows out there that dive so deep in a one hour anthology. This is a great first time out for this type of show, and I look forward to the rest of the season. Fingers crossed for an even bigger and better season two!

I think that making this take place in the murder house was a mistake. Like at least include some fan favorites from season 1. While the story was pretty good the acting was mediocre. It's fun if you have low expectations.

Bad acting, bad writing. Such a waste of time!!! I love the AHS seasons but this is not even close. Just a disappointment.
  • This isn't American horror story they won't have the same actors it's a spin off .I thought this was good and better than most the crap out there these days. This doesn't deserve 1 star ratings.
  • Take the cringiest moments of AHS, for example a ghost becoming an internet influencer after receiving a smart phone, and send their awkward essence into overdrive then you've got this stand-alone. It's not without it's genuinely enjoyable or even impressive aspects but when it comes down to it, I believe shaking one's head in disapproval at least once will be an inevitability for many if not most viewers. Though I find American Horror Stories impossible to take very seriously, it is an admittedly fun anthology series.
  • They were thinking about paying homage to Murder House but the only thing they've accomplished was its desecration. Nothing new, filled with used ideas, plus the acting and writing were unimaginably bad. Had high hopes since I admire Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's work but that all fell into the water, especially after watching second episode.
  • Warning: Spoilers
People once again not happy that it isn't more like AHS (main cast etc) that's the whole point these are just weekly stories with some cast stars from the original AHS Might appear in. Also AHS is having its new season come out in August so of course they won't be able to be in both cause of the pandemic so mixing on set will be limited.

Loved a new story in the Murder House as people know that is where it all started so loved the episode.
  • I don't mind watching this, some story is really good and nice to watch but Some episodes just yuk. The season 2 for example, most of the episode it's not spooked, it's just having gross factor kinda horror so you gotta have stomach, But I wouldn't said it's bad. It's bad if you compare it to the orriginal OG AHS, which amazing. This one just like mash up between black mirror, AHS, and creep out all together. Some episodes is HARD 4 If I'm being honest but whole series in general is 7, for those nice episodes that underrated and drag down by the other episodes. It's a nice Halloween party movie tho.. creep night, Disney plus and chill kinda things.

This is a disappointing addition to the AHS franchise. The lead actress has a complete lack of charisma so it's hard to care about her or anything she's going through. The other actresses were added purely out of nepotism and not due to any semblance of decent acting. Matt Bomer is great as usual, but it's sad to see him on a such a terribly written and acted show. This is a definite no for me.
