When the Sandman, also known as Lord Morpheus - the immortal king of dreams, stories and the imagination - is pulled from his realm and imprisoned on Earth by a nefarious cult, he languishes for decades before finally escaping. Once free, he must retrieve the three "tools" that will restore his power and help him to rebuild his dominion, which has deteriorated in his absence. Brilliantly executed!

Still working my way through the dramatization, and rereading the graphic novels just prior. The voice actors, sound editors and other production specialists have done a fantastic job of bringing Gaiman's masterpiece to life. After years of production hell of attempts to turn the series into a movie or television show, it appears they've finally found the ideal medium.

I do recommend that people read the series prior to listening though, less the frequent scene and character shifts confuse anybody unfamiliar with the story.
