Thanks to the producers and the director of Cenci in Cina for the production of the most "pratese" movie ever done. It's a funny and delicate homage to the city of Prato, in one of his most difficult moments. The players Paci and Ciampi make us laugh a lot, even watching the old Prato disappear. The citizens appreciate the city locations and the BW sequences, probably the best parts of the movie. Very touching the homage to Francesco Nuti's Madonna che Silenzio c'è Stasera, that before Cenci in Cina talked about the town of Prato. And as the Nuti's movie, even Cenci in Cina can be appreciated by the non pratese audiences with an interesting and unpredictable plot. And with no stereotypes, mostly to the Chinese citizens. The beautiful Chinese character seems to be mean and nasty but she knows to taste a very good fiorentina steak cooked by the Italian opponent. And at the end, after a lot of amazing situations, the happiness arrives.
  • I gave it 10 stars only because I live in Prato where the comedy sets and it reminds me my city. The plot is simple but underline the story of the textile business in this city from the '40. Two brothers make money selling fabrics worldwide and their sons, years later, try to save the factory in crisis from the hands of a chinese businesswoman. Finally it's a typical italian comedy with brilliant sketches but you could really understand it only if you know Prato very well.
