  • This game plays like it should be from that series and elements of the plot seem like it should be from it as well, but it is one of the better games that Squaresoft has made lately as I wait ever patiently for Final Fantasy XIII to be released and from the way it looks now that may be never. This game has a very clever plot, interesting characters, and game play that takes full advantage of the duel screen feature on the Nintendo DS. This is very nice indeed, the last role playing game I played on the DS, DragonQuest four or five, did absolutely nothing regarding the touch screen. This one has it so that the touch screen is the main source of inputing commands during combat for the main character in the quest, Neku. The story has Neku involved in a game at the beginning, unfortunately for him he has no memories of why he is being forced to play this game where the object is to do a quest once a day for seven days and if you win you will not be erased by this group of people known as the reapers. I do not really want to go into any more detail as the game is really full of surprises that I do not wish to spoil. Along his journeys, Neku teams up with a girl named Shiki because the only way to survive the game is to have a partner. In the combat, Neku fights on the bottom screen and the other person on the top. You use the stylus to control Neku and the controls to to input commands for the top screen player. It is a bit tricky at first, but it was easy once I got the hang of it. The game is not perfect though, I did not care for the whole clothes thing as that got really annoying at times and the ending was kind of a let down. It was okay, but they really needed to explain things a bit more. Still, for the most part this game had a much more interesting story than other more recent Squaresoft games including Final Fantasy XII, The Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery which all had way to many side quests and such that detracted from the stories.

    Warning: Spoilers
I am telling you now if you don't buy this game you have no idea what you are missing out on.

Recently I have completed this game on my 3DS but it is the DS version. I think this is the best game I have played on the original DS. Yo-Kai Watch is my favorite on 3DS.

This game definitely needs a sequel because I want to see what happens next to Neku and his team. Will he and Shiki become a couple? Will there be another game master? Will we learn more about Neku's past? Why were the game masters normal again after this game? What happens to all the pins Neku had?

Considering the characters rarely talked in the game the voice acting except Rhyme's was really. I am glad Rhyme got recasted in Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance.

The music in this game was really fun to listen to as well. My favorite songs are Deja Vu, Ooopart, Someone, Twister and the end credits.

If you love a good anime game of friendship, team-ups, action, and family I would recommend this game. However, like the Fire Emblem games considering it is a 3DS game it is not suitable for children since they use words like "bastard" and "bitch" and in one scene Shiki asks Neku to remove his shorts in front of her. But overall it is a good game I would buy it. However, some levels can get frustrating and when battling bosses you would sometimes have to turn your health bar up to full.

I would even ask for an anime series of this show which would be based on the game and I even made a fan cast on Twitter of who I would cast.

The company of this game did a good job.

If this game gets a sequel I want the characters to speak by themselves instead of us reading the dialogues every time.
  • *This review is based on the DS version. There is no difference between this version and other versions, except for slightly different graphics and gameplay in other versions*

TWEWY is an action role-playing game that has everything that we expect from a great action role-playing game.

The main story is about some teenagers who come to a game called Reapers game, Do the missions or you will be erased. The following game contains mysteries and answers about the whole world of the game. Shibuya city is the place where the game takes place, a popular place especially for teenagers.

The gameplay contains a battle mode and READING, but both of them are fun and balanced. In the battle mode, you use Pins (( weapons are pins with great power for fighting)) such as making fire or slashing enemies, it's important that what Pins you will use in battle. In the DS version, there's a top screen that follows the battle with different gameplay with using D-Pads.

The music... Little by little you feel a bit better (( Calling track )). 10/10

The graphic and art style is just like Japanese media and this one is closer to Kingdom Hearts series. Colorful, beautiful, great design and you don't feel boring with it.

At all this game was one of the best video games I've ever done and I like every moment of it. There are some story holes but they are not so confusing. The game contains two extra levels called ''Another Day'' and ''A New Day'' (( A New Day is not in the DS version)), but I hate both of them. The first one is just like an open world or free-to-play mode and the second is a horrible mission without any sign of respect for the main story.
