Cusick started off as a recurring on Lost, landing a guest-starring Emmy nomination for his role as former Scottish solder Desmond Hume, before getting promoted to regular in Season 3 of the island drama.

Taryn Manning is forging family ties with Alex O'Loughlin on "Hawaii Five-o," and Laurie Metcalf is headed back into the sitcom game in the latest round of pilot casting.
"The Forgotten" star Michelle Borth has also taken a role in a pilot, which may not be the best news for the show's future. Amy Smart and Brian Dennehy have also taken parts.
Manning ("Hustle & Flow," "Drive") will play Mary Ann McGarrett, the sister of O'Loughlin's Detective Steve McGarrett, in CBS' "Five-o" remake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (The character was not a regular part of the original 1968-80 series, appearing in only a couple of episodes early in the show's run.)
She joins O'Loughlin and "Lost" star Daniel Dae Kim in the cast.
Other casting news:
- Emmy winner Metcalf ("Roseanne") has joined the cast of Fox's comedy pilot "Strange Brew," from "Will & Grace" creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan (and not,...

Last week, the CW network began airing the final four episodes of Valentine. Though few people watched the show during its original run (and even fewer are watching now), it's nice that fans of the show can finally get to see the remaining installments. Now, Valentine's sister show, Easy Money is coming back as well.
As you may recall, Easy Money revolves around a dysfunctional family that runs a small-time check-cashing and loan shark operation. The show features the talents of actors like Laurie Metcalf, Jeff Hephner, Jay R. Ferguson, Joe Peracchio, Katie Lowes, Nick Searcy, Kimberly Estrada, Marsha Thomason, Ravi Patel, Chris Browning, Jesus Mayorga, Gary Farmer, and Judge Reinhold.
Like Valentine, Easy Money was part of Media Rights Capital's deal to rent the CW network's Sunday night schedule. The ratings were terrible for the programming and the deal eventually fell apart.

Little about the CW's arrangement with Media Rights Capital has been typical. That trend's continued right to the very end as the CW is booting In Harm's Way, Valentine, and Easy Money right off their schedule.
For those who haven't watched the Mrc shows, here's a brief description: In Harm's Way is a reality show hosted by Hunter Ellis that spotlights people with dangerous occupations.
Valentine follows a group of Greek gods who help modern-day mortals find true love. It stars Christine Lakin, Autumn Reeser, Robert Baker, Kristoffer Polaha, Greg Ellis, Jaime Murray, and Patrick Fabian.

Two shows are being given the boot this season as the Media Rights capital has paused production for two under-performing CW series, Easy Money and Valentine. These two shows will stop production for four to six weeks, Mrc announced on Monday. They added that the hiatus is in fact pre-planned and that they are giving the show’s writers ample time to work and catch up on the shows’ writing schedules.
Mrc’s spokesperson said that the company will push through with producing the 13 episodes of the Valentine and Easy Money orders. More importantly, the break will give Mrc the chance to study the performance of both shows, which have been very week in its initial run.
On Sunday, Valentine averaged only a million viewers and 0.4 rating/1 share among adults 28-49 while the previously well-received Easy Money garnered only 750,000 viewers and 0.3/1 in the 18-49 demographic, making the ratings drop by 25 percent from the premiere.
