  • While this is not a Sequel to Life & Times of Tim, it is a funny Act 2. I'm glad the Creator made another Series. All of the Cast and Guest Stars are great and the Series really comes together well. It's not meant to be a realistic series by any stretch of the imagination, but each of the episodes are very funny and are somehow very relatable.

This Series was worth the Wait, and I'm already looking forward to the Second Season.
  • Though not quite as sharp as Life and Times of Tim, Ten Year Old Tom definitely holds up on its own as a funny series where a boy constantly wants to have a normal life, but everyone around him complicates that. The show can't go as far as "Tim" (gross out comedy-wise) seeing how we're now dealing with a 10 year old, but when a simple fishing trip ends with a burned down cabin and passed out prostitute, this snowball can grow quite large. Especially the school picture episode, my fave.

Amazing voice acting all around and the simplified animation never gets in the way of any enjoyment, like other Dildarian projects. Definite recommended!
  • Just think of Larry David as a 10 year old boy named tom and you have a show called Ten Year Old Tom. I loved Curb Your Enthusiasm so that should probably the metric which upon you decide to watch this show. Lots of funny and akward moments, story line always making an unexpected twist, and I hope they make more episodes. The only bad unrealistic thing I'll say is New Jersey is animated way better than it really is.

I love this type of comedy. It's in the same vein as Life of Tim, Dr. Katz, Dilbert...

It's an adult comedy. There's no slapstick or low brow physical humor. It's the dialogue that makes the show funny. His reaction to the absurd words and actions of the people in his life.

    Quality show.

If you've seen (and therefore, no doubt, love) The Life and Times of Tim, you'll also like Ten Year Old Tom. Same amazingly dry humor, animation, and realistic absurdity. The cast is full of ridiculously talented comedians and comedic actors...great to see the addition of Erik Griffin and Andrew Santino. My only complaint is that we need cameos from Life and Times characters and we definitely need a character played by Bobby Lee. You'll either get it or won't, which is what makes it so damn great!

If you are a fan of the classic "The life and times of Tim" this is the exact same thing, basically Tom is just a younger Tim. Great characters, well written and improvised. I wouldn't expect anything less from Steve Dildarian.
  • Genuinely hilarious if you love dry humor or reaction-based humor. Works amazingly with the choppy animation. This show is such an unexpected treat.
  • Ten Year Old Tom rules! Unlike the protagonist Tom, the show is not a dud. Like a more biting version of Bob's Burgers (see also: Home Movies), it's just really freaking funny.

It's also, as one critic noted, weirdly sweet, even though it follows a Curb Your Enthusiasm-type formula. Sure, Tom is painfully (below) average, and is degraded by everyone constantly. Yet, there's a sense of family to these characters -- and it's a family you'll want to join.

From the animation style, to the voice acting, to the brand of jokes this show is totally original and unlike anything I've really seen. Its laugh out loud funny and the characters feel super real which is refreshing from an animated show.
  • It is certainly not for everyone, and it is not for me but, still had some fun moments. Lack of impressions in animation is pretty distracting in my opinion and the models are so stupid yet, amusing too in a way.

The line in the title was so cool, and pretty much the premise of the show. The intro song is really good as well.

Definitely worth checking out if you are a fan or familiar of similar projects to Ten Year Old Tom.

Forgot to add something, I wish Paul Rust appeared more, because his voice suited really good to Randy with those bangs, lol. He was so funny!

I love the dry sarcastic humor XD and the bad animation. If you've ever seen Home Movies the first original cartoon made for Adult Swim when it debut back in 2000; this is exactly the type of humor this show gives.
  • Warning: Spoilers
If you want to laugh and laugh out loud, this is the show for you. I rarely literally laugh out loud but did it at least once, and it most cases several times, during the course of each episode. Don't think about things too much while watching Ten Year Old Tom and enjoy the ride like when Tom stole a school bus, drove it back to school, and then no one in a position of authority cared because a substitute teacher was threatening to jump off the roof of Shady Oaks Elementary. Some musician needs to redo Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady" but to "Soxy Lady" instead all while wearing a t-shirt from the $1 rack at a thrift shop. Mitt Romney undoubtedly approves of this message and show.

Waste of time. It is not funny or entertaining. The animation is really bad. Worst series ever.
  • I'm so glad I gave this show a chance. A very funny show and every character just works perfectly. It's like a funnier "Home Movies".
  • This show is great, I hope we get more content coming in the future. I love Tim, and Tom is a great follow up to the original series. I just need more content coming from this show, this show(&tim) reaches south park levels of hilarity. HBO don't make a mistake here and give this show more attention/seasons!
  • It took me a few times to rewatch The Life and Times of Tim to appreciate and 'get' Dildarian's humor. I didn't even like it that much at first but suddenly, out of the blue, I loved it! I can rewatch the same episode multiple times. Ten Year Old Tom is similar in pace and dry humor, but it's hilarious, even better than Tim.
  • This is basically The Life and Times of Tim, as children. However, that shows main fault is that it is an office workplace comedy. This show avoids that fault, because here Tim/Tom is a ten year old child.

In the Life and Times of Tim, I thought that I liked his co-star or best friend. However, I like his friend in this alot better. This series is just much more enjoyable and rewatchable than the Tim show. I suspect that his friend in each show is part of the reason I like this one better.

But, basically this is the exact same show as The Life and Times of Tim. If you have seen that show, just imagine the characters taken back to the age of 10, and you know what to expect from this show.

It is definitely worth watching, and worth rewatching. I am looking forward to more episodes. I have rewatched these ones to death. Lol I reccomend this show. At least for a one time watch, if not more.
  • A unique and different style of humor, I cannot wait for more.

Todd Glass is hilarious as the Principal, and John Malkovich needs to have a bigger role as his character is awesome.

Larry David fans will like this, for sure.

I want to see more of this show so I hope you all give it a watch.

The acting is phenomenal! Gillian Jacobs stole the show, even from her voice. Very funny and clever, not cheap humor. Very sophisticated show but contains silly humor and fun moments.
  • Yesterday, I was randomly reminded of my love for The Life & Times of Tim, so I decided to IMDb search Steve Dildarian to see what projects he's worked on lately. I did see The New V. I. P.'s pilot back in 2017 and was disappointed that Amazon didn't pick it up as a full series.

But as I looked at Steve's credits, I saw that the first season of a new show, Ten-Year-Old Tom, was released three months ago. I immediately went to YouTube to watch the trailer for it and quickly started smiling because it was so familiar.

Today, I just finished the first episode and was not disappointed. The only question now is do I binge the rest of the episodes or do I try to space it out a bit. Thank you Steve and HBO! Hopefully this show sticks around for many seasons and a crossover with any characters from The Life & Times of Tim would be incredible. Tim did lead a troop of Boy Scouts on a camping trip once haha.
  • I guess HBO only has room for one adult animated comedy, won't be worth canceling Close Enough in a million years. I refuse to watch this out of spite now.

    10/10
    awesome
The show is so funny Even if i have watched the whole season 1, i continually go back and watch it over and over. I admit its not much on animation but the storylines, the one liners, making fun about anything and everything is what makes the series a delight. The creator (and he also plays the lead character - ten year old Tom) has made similar cartoons in the past and I actually looked this up and these were just as amazing. I certainly look forward to season 2.
  • If you like bobs burgers and incredibly dry humor with vulgar content carried by a 10 year old cartoon character then this show is for you. Audience is directed to 18-30 year olds favoring male harsh humor and is one of a kind. I like it cause the audience it's built for is my tastes, but a lot of people will hate it.
  • This is the perfect follow up to the Life and Times of Tim.

People that say it's boring and lacks fancy animation, and those people must lack a sense of humor. It's like time has gone backward and we get to see Tim as a young boy named Tom, likely after Tom grew up and applied for a job at Omnicorp. And with Tom's (Tim's) ...luck, shall we say?...someone accidentally put him in the system as Tim, he OBVIOUSLY doesn't correct them, and here we are...

10 out of 10. I need more seasons.
  • I forgot to add that John Malkovichs' voice is great as the uptight intelligentsia of liberal cultural know-it-alls'. His voice is so soothing.... I need to add more to this review apparently, not enough characters, so let's just say, again, how much I love this show....
