The responsibility lies on the shoulders of Shannon Fife tor this melodramatic picture and Joseph Smiley is an accessory, as the director. It is a difficult job to comment on this picture which is crammed full of anguish and unnatural, illogical happenings, not pleasant to view or to contemplate. The redeeming features are the acting and photography. John Smiley and Justina Huff play the leading roles and are supported by a splendid cast. - The Moving Picture World, September 12, 1914
