    Brings a fun time.

Parks and Recreation is set in the fictional town of Pawnee, a medium-sized city in the US state of Indiana. Pawnee is known throughout the United States for being shaped by numerous economic and social problems. For example, it is the fourth largest city in the United States with the highest rate of obesity. In mockumentary style, Parks and Recreation accompanies the employees of the Pawnee Parks Department. This office is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of Pawnee's parks and recreational facilities. The Parks Bureau is chaired by Ron Swanson, who has to argue with his deputy director Leslie Knope on a daily basis.

"Parks and Recreation" isn't nearly as good as "The Office", but it's also a very good and funny creation by the creator of both series.

    Two shows in one.

This show is really two shows. Pre season three and post season three.

Before season three the show was like the office, the main character is an idiot doing the best they can but failing. The show has very awkward humor and is really funny.

Post season three the show becomes very light hearted and goes for more the comedy the show is known for. It's about a smart capable main character who is a bit weird going against a bad system.

The show is really good and it can be very funny but the change is jarring and I know people who only like post season three and people who only like preseason three, I think this is also reflected by some reviews.

I recommend the characters are awesome.

    a comfort show

I truly enjoy light-hearted comedies that allow you to form connections to characters. This show does just that. ALL main characters are extremely likeable and unique in their charm. The running gags are maintained throughout the years very well - like the one about Jerry's name lol. Leslie Knope - the protagonist - is most certainly flawed, but also painfully sweet and kind. All characters have very evident flaws, like any real human, but present themselves amiably. Some people might say this show is too similar to "the Office". I strongly disagree. Perhaps, the FIRST season resembles it a bit too much, but Parks and Rec soon develops itself as its own show. I personally enjoy this show over the Office, if anything. I enjoy the Office, but it feels a bit more pessimistic to me, whereas Parks and Recreation leans slightly in a more wholesome direction while still maintaining its humor - which I appreciate.

If you enjoy comedy television shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the Office, New Girl, Modern Family, etc., watch this show. You won't regret it. It is LITERALLY one of my favorite shows. :)

    Can Watch Many Times Over

Once in a while a great show comes out of the blue, Parks and Rec is on such show.

If you enjoyed shows like The Office, 30 Rock, and other similar shows I would highly recommend that you try this one out.

First of all, the cast, talk about an all star line up. I will not write all the cast, you can just look it up. But not only it has a great cast, they all did a great job. This was one of those shows that launched, or increased the careers for many actors. It is not just the leads that make this show, it is the cameos and secondary actors that really make this show shine.

It is not a show that leaves everything on a cliffhanger, but you will find yourself watching many episodes back to back. It does follow up on things that happen. In previous episodes, but not in such a way that if you missed an episode you would be lost. It is a kind of show you can have running in the background and still laugh without having to watch it (although it is better if you do watch it). It is a show that you can just put on any random episode and get a good laugh. It does not take itself too seriously, and that is part of its charm.

So if you are in need of a laugh, see some great comic actors, and want to step away from all these newer shows that are trying to make everything dark, give this a try.

One of the Funniest Sitcoms Out There

What started out as a rather bad spin-off of The Office quickly became one of the best sitcoms every release. The characters, which a lot of the comedy derived from, are so hilarious. Each one has a distinct personality that really adds to the show. If you want to watch this show, suffer through Season 1, then get through Season 2 (with that insufferable Mark guy) and then it will be worth it. My personal favorite character is Rob Lowe as Chris Traeger... It's too bad he was only around for three seasons.

    Favorite episode: Season 3, Episode 16: Lil' Sebastian S1: 6/10 (Very bad) S2: 8/10 (Getting pretty good) S3: 9/10 (Amazing) S4: 9/10 S5: 9/10 S6: 8/10 (Chris Traeger left) S7: 9/10 (Very emotional)

Chris Pratt (Andy) was such a good physical comedian that frequently the writers would just write "Andy does something physical" into the script, trusting he would come up with something in the moment.

There is conflicting information in regards to the location of Eagleton. In season two, Leslie (Amy Poehler) states that Eagleton is "two towns over." However, later on, there is a "Pawnee/Eagleton border," meaning the towns are next to each other, some Pawnee citizens having left and settled Eagleton.
