A failed reporter is bonded to an alien entity, one of many symbiotes who have invaded Earth. But the being takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it.
The fourth time Tom Hardy has played in a live action remake of well known TV/Movie characters after Shinzon (aka Jean-Luc Picard's evil Clone) in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002), Bane in The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Mad Max in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).

At the end, when Eddie is walking to Mrs. Chen's store, it's daytime, but when he exits the store it's night time. Actually, when Eddie enters the store it's clearly dark outside. When he starts walking to the store it's right around sunset (judging by sky color and lighting of the buildings). If it took him 20-30 minutes to reach the store (which is reasonable, since he was walking slowly), it may well be dark.
At the end of the closing credits, a preview of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) appears.
The theatrical release featured an extended clip from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) as a post-credits scene. It was however not included in the internet version.
