A failed reporter is bonded to an alien entity, one of many entities who have invaded Earth. But the entity takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it.
Tater Tots, like the ones Eddie eats, were invented in 1953 at the Ore-Ida company. The company got its name from its location at the Oregon-Idaho border.
Astronaut JJ Jameson, III:
Life Foundation Control, this is LF1. The specimens are secured, and we're heading home.
Mission Control Operator: Roger, LF1. You are a go for reentry.
At the end, when Eddie is walking to Mrs. Chen's store, it's daytime, but when he exits the store it's night time. Actually, when Eddie enters the store it's clearly dark outside. When he starts walking to the store it's right around sunset (judging by sky color and lighting of the buildings). If it took him 20-30 minutes to reach the store (which is reasonable, since he was walking slowly), it may well be dark.
There is a scene in the closing credits: Eddie Brock goes to visit convicted killer Cletus Kasady in San Quentin Prison.
The theatrical release featured an extended clip from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) as a post-credits scene. It was however not included in the internet version.
$80,255,756 (USA) (7 October 2018)
