A failed reporter is bonded to an alien entity, one of many entities who have invaded Earth. But the entity takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it.
Previous adaptations pronounce symbiote as "sim-BEE-oat." Here, Jenny Slate's character suggests it's pronounced "sim-BYE-oat" ...and later Carlton Drake pronounces it as, "sim-BEE-oat". It really just depends on how each character pronounces it.

Anne picks up Eddie/Venom at the Transamerica Pyramid then heads to a hospital by driving along the Embarcadero (the street that goes along the waterfront). This street is out of the way to go to any hospital in the city with numerous other streets offering more direct and quicker routes.
Part of the closing credits are a sequence of animated scenes from the film.
The theatrical release featured an extended clip from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) as a post-credits scene. It was however not included in the internet version.
