  • This show is very much like clone wars as it balances dark and serious moments with fun and lighthearted! In Clone Wars some of the arcs were mature and amazing that build upon the movies and cannon, while some felt like dumb filler with no purpose!

The same goes for this show, as some of the episodes are side quests, mainly aimed for kids, and some of the episodes contribute to the overall story, are more dark and mature, especially in season two, and aimed for the more mature or older audience who grew up watching The Clone Wars and the movies!

I would say you dont need to watch every episode! Some of the filler episodes can be skipped and you wont miss out! I skipped some of the filler in season two and I enjoyed that season more than one!

The animation though is amazing and that goes for every episode, even the ones that don't matter! Soundtrack is also fantastic as it creates a vibe unique to this show!

The show might have its ups and downs but is still better than some of the live action star wars shows!

    Excited for season 3.
  • I think my qualms with the first season are still here with the second. There seems to be some anomaly with this show; some episodes are absolutely fantastic (episodes with Crosshair and The Empire) and others are just like why does this exist? If I do a rewatch, I'll be skipping 40% of the episodes lol.

The highs of season 2 exceeded season 1, I will say that. The ending was fantastic. The best parts of the season were: the exploration of the clones and their supposed defectiveness, the scheming Empire, the cloning intrigue, and certain parts of Clone Force 99.

Omega has improved, but she still isn't my favorite. She has matured a lot though, and will be huge for season 3.

Overall, more people need to watch this show, and season 2 improved upon season 1.
  • This show is really good. I understand why people don't like it, and they have some fair points that I agree with. I don't mind filler episodes if they are done well. Sometimes they're done well, other times, not so much. The plot centric episodes are really good though, and the characters are good, with crosshair being the show stealer in terms of writing, and the animation is incredible. Not all characters worked well. I feel like echo got sidelined, but he had his fair amount of development in the clone wars. This show's greatest strength is the world building. Seeing the Republic's transition to the empire from the clones point of view was great. Overall, it's the best first season out of any star wars animated show, but not one of the great ones YET. It's like a 7.8/10 for me.
  • My favourite part of The Bad Batch is whenever the episodes aren't focused on them. I wholeheartedly believe that if the series focused more on the morality of the clones and the ethical dilemma that they present it would be far greater than it already is. By far the most interesting and mature theme of the show is seeing the clones get cast aside for the new Stormtroopers. As well as seeing the development of the Empire. Seeing how they are mistreated and abused is so heartbreaking and thought provoking it's the PERFECT theme for the show. I just wish the theme was consistent across the series. But the gems that do touch on this subject is what makes this and 8/10 for me.
  • Yes there are filler episodes, but I urge you to remember The Clone Wars. Quit making excuses and watch The Bad Batch. What are you waiting for?
  • Star Wars The Clone Wars is easily one of the best animated series of all time thanks to its stellar cast, animation, and writers. Bad Batch is no different. Dave Filoni, all the voice actors, and LucasArts deliver another amazing story about the events after TCW and Order 66. Dee Bradley Baker shines as the Bad Batch among every other clone they encounter. It's truly remarkable how he can express so many different emotions and personalities for the clones. Without his voice acting range the show can easily fall flat but no clone feels like the same person thanks to his performances. The visuals and action are taken up a notch thanks to Disney Plus's improved budget (I can only presume) and advancements in animation since the original series's debut. Not only do we get tie-ins with characters and plot points from the films but we are also treated to interesting storylines that we didn't even know we needed. The hour long pilot truly help it feel like an epic tale set in the Star Wars universe. Much of what happened between Episode 3 and 4 were left to Legends but now we get a phenomenal animated representation of some of the events that had taken place. Dave Filoni's apprenticeship under George Lucas is clearly shown through the story, you get that classic Star Wars vibe that is absent from Sequel Trilogy. If you are a Star Wars fan then don't miss out on Bad Batch!
  • The bad batch returns to the characters first seen in clone wars season 7. This first episode is an amazing buildup to what I believe an even better rest of the season. It is packed with some nice action, big suprises and gasping for air moments. I am very interested to see where it is going. Definitely worth the watch.
  • It is really disappointing that a lot of this series is just filler and doesn't add anything at all to the story or to the characters. This could easily be half the length.
  • I know some are coming into this show relatively hesitant after the bad batch arc in season 7, but this first episode will make everyone more than optimistic. This show will explore so much of the rise of the empire, something that is relatively new on screen. With 15 more episodes, there is bound to be great character development with each of the members- this first episode already started off strongly. As always, god bless Filoni.
  • It's entertaining. It's good star wars. Clone Wars vibes. Fillers every other episode which sucks but it's still good quality so it's not lowering my score of it. All over it's very good.

Only thing that brings it down is that sometimes I wonder what the point of this show is. It's not going anywhere or headed towards anything. There's no goal or direction or purpose.

I feel like that they might have just been trying to show the Republic-Empire transition, but there are so many better ways to show that and this would be a wasted potential if that were the case. So it needs a purpose. Give the clones a goal and you have an excellent show.
  • To me it looks like a movie split on chapters. There is many nice details with particles, lights, textures that maybe most of the people don't notice, but it makes the serie a really good one.

I'm not a fan of the modeling of the characters. It's okay but not my style, but when that it's ignored the overall is really great.

A bad thing it's that the plot it remembers too much to me "The Mandalorian" and "The Witcher".
  • Warning: Spoilers
As a die hard star wars fan, I was ecstatic about this show and badly wanted to love every minute of it. And although they had some fantastic moments, I felt that the show lacked good plot and character development.

What I liked: Easter Eggs, nostalgia, and cameos. Although I was not big on the video games, the writers clearly made a big effort to bring in planets/locations and music relevant to star wars legends.

My favorite episodes included appearances from previous and future characters. The writers did a great job of including these characters in a way to further develop their characters without disrupting any timelines.

-New Era of star wars Despite the long history of star wars, there has always been a gap in the cinematic and canon story. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the process of the empire take over, and how they transitioned from clones to TK Troopers. This was a process that, again, the writers did an excellent job of including in a way that adds depth to the story, but without disrupting any stories or timelines.

What I disliked: Poor development Most episodes seemed to have quickly developing stories that were jam packed with action, leaving too little time to develop more than one or two characters. Rather than developing a group, or batch, of characters they largely focused on just Omega and Hunter, leaving other lead characters as an after thought.

I'm addition to poor character development, there was a lack of cohesiveness between episodes. It gave me the sense that many episodes could be entirely removed or scrambled up, and wouldn't ultimately have any change any of the outcome.

-lacked suspense An overwhelming frustration of mine was the degree of immunity that main characters had. Despite many action packed episodes, there was never any sense that characters were in danger, and I knew every time that the characters would escape or complete their objective. I understand that it is an animated show, but at times it became unbearable to watch (example: one character falls off a mountain and gets up unharmed).

Overall The show had some really amazing cameos, Easter eggs, and nostalgia that worked really well from a big picture and timeline stand point. However, it relied too heavily on the nostalgia and Easter eggs to cover up the poor development.

What i would like to see next season: -2-3 episode arc episodes with more focus on developing characters
    • at least one main character death, as I think this will add to the suspense of the show.
  • Interesting start to this new series, but it's already slipping into tired, formulaic plots that we've seen many times before. The characters already feel stale and annoying. There is promise here, so hopefully they will take the show in interesting directions. However it's worrying that episodes are already starting to seem like filler.
  • This is the most bland and overdone storyline ever.

Having powerful characters protect a child isn't a very original Star Wars story, amazing the writers thought that was a unique angle.

Only 3 episodes in so it could turn around but not off to a great start. I hope that Dave Filoni has a good reason for repeating these same tropes repeatedly.
  • Great start! Dave Filoni can do no wrong. As he is one of three that is the future for Star Wars. Jon Favreau and George Lucas being the other ones. I'm excited for what await us in the coming weeks.
  • Great first episode! I love the direction they're going in terms of plot. Always cool to see things that we've never experienced on-screen before.
  • Star Wars: The Bad Batch is what interquels strive to be: self-contained yet reverential to what it's following up story-wise, self-aware yet not too cliched either, and focusing on unknown characters in an otherwise established universe and continuity that it's impossible to know how everything's gonna play out exactly.

This show takes place between The Prequel Trilogy and The Original Star Wars Trilogy, and I think Dave Filoni is trying to do what Paul Dini did for Batman: The Animated Series, in that he's using a universe he loves to tell stories of character-examinations and interspersing the script with subtle references to the greater continuity and character arcs. The writing is very sharp and natural here, and it continues The Clone Wars' tradition of making it centre on the complicated lives of soldiers fighting a war bigger than themselves.

The Bad Batch starts off really strong with its 70-minute premiere (is it an episode or television movie?) and I'm excited to see where the story goes from here. This is Star Wars canon at its finest.
  • Top drawer animation with storylines that rival the very best the franchise has to offer.

Gripping and engaging, the Bad Batch is a worthy successor to the Clone Wars and a notable entry in the franchise.

With a plot centred on propelling the narrative of Palpatine's fledgling Empire, fans will find much to enjoy as we are shown the paradigm shift from the perspective of many worlds we are familiar with.

It's a difficult transition from the Clones point of view, as they find themselves having done their duty and a changing world that no longer requires their services.

Poignant and powerful are the few episodes dealing with this specifically.

    Bravo.
  • I wish I vould give more, but this Omega character is close to unbearable. Not just the character feels out of context and uneccessary, but also the voice actor is terrible. The Bad Batch guys are awesome and they have a great potential, but only without Omega.
  • From my experience watching star wars shows, including Clone Wars, Rebels, and even Mandalorian, this one has gotten off to the strongest start.

One thing I love about star wars is its adventure mixed with action, but to me what separates Bad Batch from the rest is its established narrative around Omega and the support of the Bad Batch around her. In clone wars, the show is always switching narrative from Ashoka to Anakin from Yoda to Obi- Wan, yes it makes the show great but it can get a little sloppy, hence so many filler episodes in clone wars (like the ones that were about the droids). Rebels in my opinion never really takes off until the 3rd season, no real story line I believe took place before that. It was just them always running into trouble. And Mandalorian in my opinion yes its good but all the storyline was for 2 seasons was to protect baby Yoda, and now that he's did that, the story is about to be about something else? So no real story line has really ever been established for Mandalorian yet. With Bad Batch I feel like we have so much cooking for us to look foward into the show. Hunter vs Crosshair, the Empire still trying to capture Omega for her cloning, Bad Batches future in the war, return of Vader? And all done around the dynamic of a team, which is juat personal preference to me, but I love when star wars establishes a team spirit around the theme similar to rebels, rogue one, and even Han Solo which I enjoyed. Im just confused on the bad reveiws because I don't understand what they did so differently bad . It has everything you love about Star Wars, from action, to adventure, to the suspense, to the score, to the animation, its all done really well. In my opinion ignore the bad reviews.
  • Dave Filoni developed another beautiful series, deepening the big SW Lore, creating interesting connections with other productions such as "The Mandalorian" and "The War of the Clones". He clearly knows what he is doing and he's in fact saving this saga, after the disaster committed with episodes seven, eight and nine. I really hope that Disney will eventually let him handle the new trilogy.

The story is very simple, and yet it works and I was entertained. The average length per episode is 25 minutes, a perfect runtime to develop the plot. Characters are very well built, the audience gets to know them very well, therefore it is easy to bond with them. I enjoyed the idea of family between The Bad Batch and Omega. However, I think that Echo is the only one that was left a little bit aside, and he became, after a couple of episodes, almost irrelevant. I hope that screenwriters will amend this issue in the second season. Aside from the main group, there are other interesting elements, such as Cid, or Eleni Syndulla. The first season is composed of sixteen episodes, therefore there are inevitably a few fillers. Some of them are enjoyable and may provide some useful information about certain events. Others unfortunately are really boring and you wonder when things start to move forward. I would have cut two or three episodes, just to have a more organic result.

The art is stunning, I really enjoyed landscapes that were nicely done. I really liked the general artistic direction, the graphics reminded me of a comic book. Digital artists put in a lot of effort for details. Action scenes are dynamic and tense. There are a lot of stealth sequences, therefore the audience does not have to see blaster fights all the time. If you enjoyed "The Mandalorian'', most probably you will like also "The Bad Batch". I think that SW fans should at least give it a try, because it really shows some aspects of the Lore that were never really on screen.
  • Like the Mandolorian, This show gives me Hope for the future of Star Wars! Such good writing in this first episode and I have faith that Filoni will keep this rolling through the episodes. Lucusfilm is so lucky to have Filoni and Favreau producing such quality content!
  • I like the art and surely great for a younger audience. But not a huge fan of the concept, the extremely flat dialogues, silly jokes, and voice overs.

I can't wait for autumn/winter when we get to watch the next actual series of the franchise. I am going skip this one, unfortunately.
  • 1 episode was a big banger, but unfortunately the show is too much of Omega and she's very annoying...

    Please remove her or something.

Really hope the next episodes gets better.

    Warning: Spoilers
One of the best Star Wars stories ever.

The script/story brilliantly balances between the adventures of a rogue group of enhanced Clones, alongside another "particular" Clone (Omega), their spirit and unity as they face one challenge after another, in a post Republic-Jedi fall era.

Sweet and deep, as well as fun and entertaining, the show flows constantly between "fights" of any kind: personal, emotional, ideological, biological, evolutional.

The main plot prop in Season 1 (Omega) worked marvellously well. The transition of the "Batch" from elite suicide mission troopers to elite errand emissaries, has an impact on understanding how these brave troopers became outlaws or desperados in order to survive, but they kept their true spirit and faith and kindness, in a system ruled by an Emperor and the Sith.

One thing that always bother's me though, is the need for filler episodes - in this case there are a few. Albeit balanced enough, it still annoys me.

Another plot element is the Clones being "set" to cheer the Empire and confront their own brothers, but luckily enough there are a few exceptions. If anyone has been attached to the Clone concept during the "Clone Wars" series, this show will make you feel, well, sad sometimes.

Filloni has done a great job in this one. Hope season 2 will be much better (so I can rate it 10)
