Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5 was supposedly going to turn it all around for the superhero universe. After a failed attempt with Phase 4, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was a promising candidate when it came to reviving the MCU. Starring Paul Rudd, Jonathan Majors, and Kathryn Newton, the film unfortunately failed to live up to the fans’ expectations.
Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
In a recent interview, Kathryn Newton revealed that filming for Ant-Man 3 was the easiest job of her life. Looking at the response her comments have received, it is clear that fans are still upset about the awful sequel, especially her performance, and are not going to let her live it down.

Zany comedy is alive and well, thanks to Paul Briganti’s Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain. Reminiscent of films like Dude, Where’s My Car, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and Rat Race, today’s Please Don’t Destroy trailer finds three losers hoping to make a name for themselves by finally uncovering the lost treasure of Foggy Bottom. Unfortunately for the dim-witted trio, everyone and their grandmother knows about the jackpot and will stop at nothing to claim its prize of a rumored $100 million in spoils.

For Justin Timberlake, it took some time before the former N’Sync member could be taken seriously as a potential movie star.
He credited the David Fincher feature The Social Network for affecting others’ perception of him.

In the mid to late 2000s, Timberlake took a slight break from his successful music career to focus on his filmography. He made a few notable projects like Alpha Dog and Black Snake Moan that garnered some praise from his contemporaries in the film industry. But it wasn’t until his performance in The Social Network that he found his acting getting serious recognition.
He won the role as young tech millionaire Sean Parker in the 2010 Oscar-nominated feature. He even beat out Jonah Hill for the role. Hill might have gotten the part if Fincher didn’t insist on Timberlake.

No Hard Feelings: Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD details announced for Jennifer Lawrence’s raunchy comedy
Gene Stupnitsky’s raunchy R-rated comedy, No Hard Feelings, is coming to the home market later this month. According to Sony Pictures, the hilarious and decidedly horny comedy releases on Blu-ray and DVD on August 29, with the Digital release coming next week on August 15. Extras for the home release of No Hard Feelings include Outtakes & Bloopers, A Motley Crew: Meet the Characters, and A Little Wrong: Making No Hard Feelings.
The spicy comedy tells the story of Maddie, a woman on the brink of losing her home who finds a curious job listing: parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college. Maddie’s mission is to cure Percy Becker (Andrew Barth Feldman) of his insecurity and turn him into a medalist in the Bedroom Olympics if you catch my drift.
The comedy comes from Gene Stupnitsky, who co-wrote 2011’s Bad Teacher and 2009’s Year One.

Plot: Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) must pay back taxes on her home, but as a ride-share driver, her livelihood is taken away from her when her car is repossessed. Thus, she answers an unusual ad, where a wealthy couple (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) offers a car to anyone willing to “date” their shy son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), who they want to come out of his shell.
Review: No Hard Feelings is half of a good, old-fashioned, raunchy sex comedy. It’s unapologetic about its premise where Jennifer Lawrence’s Maddie is happy to deflower the virginal Percy for a free car. Still, as a concession to how controversial the premise is proving to be, it piles on the sap in the film’s second half. Nevertheless, it has some really funny moments and an outstanding performance by Lawrence, who has real comic chops.

When the trailer for Gene Stupnitksy’s No Hard Feelings made the rounds online, it felt like a mild event. Not only for a return to big theatrical releases for star Jennifer Lawrence, but also a return of the big-budget, theatrically released sex comedy, a genre that has been mostly relegated to streaming. It was great to see one of the few remaining stars who can draw an audience throw her considerable influence behind a straight-up comedy.
But for No Hard Feelings to salvage comedy it must actually be funny. And overall it is. Lawrence plays Maddie, a 32-year-old Uber driver whose car is repossessed for her failure to pay property tax. She answers a Craigslist ad that offers to trade a Buick as payment for “dating” the owner’s sheltered son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman). Maddie takes on the assignment to find Percy is not the horny teen she expected,...

After her return to the world of character-driven indie cinema last year with the drama “Causeway,” which she also produced, it seemed Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence had found her way back to the kind of grounded cinema on which she cut her teeth. Yet her latest film as star-producer, “No Hard Feelings,” directed by Gene Stupnitsky, is about as hard a pivot as is cinematically possible.

Oscar-winning actor Jennifer Lawrence is gunning for the laughs in raunchy comedy “No Hard Feelings.”
“I think it’s time for a good old-fashioned laugh and it really is hard to make a comedy where you’re not offending people,” Lawrence told Sky News on Wednesday. “Everybody in some sense will be offended by this film — you’re welcome.”
In the film, which is rated R in the U.S. and 15 in the U.K., Lawrence stars as a Montauk Uber driver facing bankruptcy who accepts a Craigslist ad to date and seduce an awkward 19-year-old (Andrew Barth Feldman) whose helicopter parents don’t want him leaving for college as a virgin.
“We need to be able to engage with being offended. There was and is like a big overcorrect because we realized there were so many things that we were joking about that we shouldn’t be,” Feldman told Sky News.

If you’re wondering what’s new on Amazon Prime Video in June, the answer is a lot. The streamer has a solid slate of movies heading into summer 2023. From the first two “Creed” films to “Love, Rosie,” “Yours, Mine & Ours” and other clever romantic comedies, the streamer has a range of options for viewers with different tastes. Newer theatrical releases arriving on the streamer in June include “TÁR,” “Armageddon Time,” and “M3GAN.”
TV premieres to look forward to include Boots Riley’s “I’m A Virgo” and the fourth and final season of John Krasinski’s “Jack Ryan.” “Crazy Rich Asians” arrives early in June, followed by “Interstellar” for all Christopher Nolan and Matthew McConaughey lovers. Even though “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” doesn’t release in theaters until November, all four “Hunger Games” films land on Prime Video this June. Perfect timing — maybe even with a reread...

With its list of new releases for June 2023, Prime is bringing a handful of Amazon Originals and many recent movie hits to the fold.
It’s actually quite a busy month for non-American programming in Amazon Originals department. Shows and movies like Deadloch, My Fault, and Medellín all originate from outside the U.S. and U.K. For the American and British crowd, however, the streamer is debuting two big tentpoles.
The first is I’m a Virgo on June 23. Acclaimed director Boots Riley’s TV followup to Sorry to Bother You will tale the surreal and satirical tale of a giant in Oakland. That will be followed by the more conventional (assumedly) fourth season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on June 30.
The real fireworks this month come from a ludicrously deep bench of library TV and movie titles. Give them a look for yourself below but if we were to highlight just a few,...

Late last year, Jennifer Lawrence had returned to her indie roots as she starred in an intimate character drama titled Causeway, which dealt with grief, forgiveness, acceptance, and moving on. Lawrence will be venturing into lighter-hearted material, still meant for mature audiences, but in a different manner. She is starring in the raunchy comedy, No Hard Feelings. The title is a double entendre, which plays on the concept of her character being hired to take the V-card of a socially awkward college-bound teen by his concerned parents.
The comedy comes from Gene Stupnitsky, who had co-wrote 2011’s Bad Teacher and 2009’s Year One. He recently helmed Good Boys, which was a shake-up of an American Pie-esque movie, only this time involving younger boys, and their ultimate goal was to kiss a girl. Here, Stupnitsky once again plays with conventions in a script he co-wrote with John Phillips, who had produced...

An Uber driver without a car, Jennifer Lawrence finds herself financially stuck in a new trailer for the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.” That is, until a wealthy couple offers her a Buick Regal if she agrees to “date” their awkward 19-year-old son before he goes off to college.
“You won’t even rent your house out, but now you’re gonna rent out your vag?” one of Lawrence’s friends asks upon learning about her arrangement, to which Lawrence responds: “You have a Road Runner tattoo covering your entire back, I don’t think you should tell anybody what to do with their body.”
In the trailer, Lawrence frantically circles a high school party in search of Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), barging into bedrooms only to find teenagers sitting on their phones. “Doesn’t anyone fuck anymore?” she asks, stupefied.

Jennifer Lawrence recently told Entertainment Weekly that she “died laughing” when reading the real-life Craigslist ad that inspired her upcoming raunchy R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.” Directed by Lawrence’s longtime friend Gene Stupnitsky, the film casts the Oscar-winning actor as a Montauk Uber driver facing bankruptcy who accepts a Craigslist ad to date and seduce an awkward 19-year-old (Andrew Barth Feldman). His helicopter parents don’t want him leaving for college as a virgin.
Stupnitsky and Lawrence first let it slip at CinemaCon last month that “No Hard Feelings” was based on a real-life Craigslist ad. The director told EW that it was the film’s producers, Marc Provissiero and Naomi Odenkirk, who sent him the Craigslist ad.
“I read it, and I thought, ‘This is wild. Who is the woman that answers this ad?'” Stupnitsky said. “And I thought, ‘Oh, that’ll be a great role for...

Kathryn Newton, Angus Cloud and Will Catlett have joined the cast of Universal’s untitled monster movie. The film, announced last month, will be directed by Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett who recently revived the “Scream” franchise and previously helmed the cult favorite “Ready or Not.” They will join previously cast Melissa Barrera and Alisha Weir in the mysterious fright flick, which now has a theatrical release date of April 19, 2024.
Chad Villella will produce alongside William Sherak, Paul Neinstein and James Vanderbilt at Project X Entertainment. The script was written by Stephen Sheilds, with revisions by Guy Busick. At CinemaCon 2023, Sony revealed another look at “No Hard Feelings,” the Gene Stupnitsky-directed romp starring Jennifer Lawrence as a down-on-her-luck Uber driver who takes a gig to “date” a socially awkward high schooler to bring the 19-year-old out of his shell before college. It’s an old-school, R-rated star+concept comedy, something that was in short supply even before Covid sent many such titles to streaming platforms.
The footage features the initial meeting between Lawrence and Andrew Barth Feldman. It’s the full sequence heavily featured in the first trailer, whereby Lawrence attempts to “pick up” the kid at the animal shelter where he volunteers. There’s a dog at the shelter who is apparently addicted to cocaine and who barks furiously when the word “cocaine” is uttered.
We get a slew of not-so-subtle entendres to which the kid has no idea how to react. Again, as seen in the trailer,...

Ted Sorrandoes was asked point-blank in Tuesday’s quarterly earnings call about resisting Netflix’s current reluctance to give their films conventional theatrical releases, a stance that has now put the company at odds with most of their streaming competition. The short answer: Don’t stop a horse in mid-stream.
“The film division is doing great,” stated Sarandos. “They really are building out some great films. The success at the Oscars [like “All Quiet on the Western Front”] was great but even better than that [was that] the movies that won so big were also very popular with fans.” We’re really happy with the investment in film.”
The comments came as rival streaming companies, including Apple TV+ and Amazon’s Prime Video, reportedly made moves to invest around $1 billion each per year in theatrically-targeted movies. Alongside David Zaslav’s stated preference for theatrical titles, this makes Netflix an outlier in still prioritizing...

Madison De La Garza, a former child actor on Desperate Housewives, has spoken about the devastating online backlash she received when she was just six years old.
The actor and filmmaker, who is the younger half-sister of musician Demi Lovato, played Juanita Solis, the daughter of Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria), on the popular series.
According to De La Garza, she became the target of abuse on social media following her role in the show, which caused her to develop an eating disorder.
She opened up about the time to Elizabeth Vargas on the Heart of the Matter podcast.
“They said things like they wanted me to die because of what I looked like,” De La Garza said. “It was just horrible, like, ‘ugly fat cow,’ and ‘I hope you get cancer and die because you’re so fat’.

Madison De La Garza is reflecting on her time as a child star on Desperate Housewives and how cyberbullying from viewers led to her “developing an eating disorder at a very young age.”
The actress — who was as young as 6 years old when she portrayed Juanita Solis, the daughter to Eva Longoria’s Gabrielle “Gaby” Solis, on the ABC series — appeared on the most recent episode of Elizabeth Vargas’ Heart of the Matter podcast to talk about her journey to sobriety. Jennifer Lawrence goes all-out comedy in the trailer for her new movie, No Hard Feelings.
The story follows Maddie (Lawrence) – an Uber driver who, after losing her license, answers a Craigslist ad from two parents looking for someone to date their 19-year-old son before he goes to college.
“He doesn’t come out of his room, he doesn’t talk to girls, he doesn’t drink,” the boy’s father (played by Matthew Broderick) explains.
Maddie then confirms that when his parents say “date”, what they mean is: have sex with.
The rest of the trailer then follows Maddie attempting to seduce the apparently unseducible young man named Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman).
“Mind if I touch your wiener?” She asked the teen at the dog adoption centre where he volunteers in one scene.
Elsewhere, Lawrence performs a striptease and demands the boy to come skinny dipping with him.

Jennifer Lawrence is looking to acquire a car by any means necessary in the first trailer for Sony’s upcoming comedy No Hard Feelings.

“This kid is unfuckable,” Lawrence’s character laments.
During a night out at a classy restaurant, Maddie offers Percy wisdom about not feeling pressured to impress others. “The best part about getting older...

Jennifer Lawrence stars in the decidedly R-rated trailer for No Hard Feelings as a down-on-her-luck woman on the brink of losing her childhood home. Desperate for a lifeline, she answers an ad from two helicopter parents who want their 19-year-old son to come out of his shell before he sets off for college.
Taking some inspiration from Risky Business, Lawrence’s character Maddie must “date” Andrew Barth Feldman’s Percy, but seducing a teenager proves to be a much more difficult task than she envisioned. When skinny dipping and Long Island ice teas don’t work, she actually tries kidnapping him, which results in nothing but a face full of pepper spray. At one point, Percy even accidentally punches her in the throat.

After Jennifer Lawrence returned to her indie roots with the intimate character drama Causeway, the actress is now venturing into much lighter material with the raunchy comedy, No Hard Feelings. The film’s plot was generally under wraps, but Sony has now released the trailer that reveals the zany nature that would give the movie a firm seat next to comedies like American Pie and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Variety reports on the new red band trailer that gives us all the dirty goodness.
The trailer shows Lawrence as a promiscuous Uber driver named Maddie, who is on the verge of losing her house, and her means of transportation was just towed. In desperation, she answers a Craigslist ad from wealthy parents who are looking to help pry their son, Percy, out of his shell just before he goes to college. The parents proposition Maddie to give their son one hell of a “date,...

Jennifer Lawrence Tries Everything to Sleep With a 19-Year-Old in Raunchy ‘No Hard Feelings’ Trailer
Sony has released the first trailer for the raunchy comedy “No Hard Feelings,” in which Jennifer Lawrence plays a woman who answers two helicopter parents’ Craigslist ad to sleep with their sheltered 19-year-old son before he goes to college.
The very R-rated trailer opens with Lawrence’s character Maddie approaching the awkward Percy at a dog adoption center, asking “Mind if I touch your wiener?” before revealing he’s holding a Dachshund wiener dog. On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie resorts to every last-ditch effort to fulfill the parents’ questionable request and sleep with Percy. She skinny dips, plies him with Long Island ice tea and, in one hilarious scene, kidnaps him in a van before getting pepper sprayed in the face.
In addition to Lawrence, the cast includes Andrew Barth Feldman as Percy, Matthew Broderick as his father, Laura Benanti as his mother, plus Natalie Morales,...

Though she’s 26, Kathryn Newton has been playing a teenager for a long time — perhaps because she does it so well: with early roles in “Bad Teacher” and “Paranormal Activity 4,” she proved she can bring depth and dimension to whatever her character is struggling with, be it a dyspeptic teacher or an otherworldly entity. But after doing comedy (“Blockers”), drama (HBO’s “Big Little Lies”) and sci-fi-tinged mystery, growing up on screen takes on new meaning in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” where — spoiler alert — she gets to participate in the series’ size-changing action as Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) Ant-Man. Newton had previously auditioned for another role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and though she didn’t divulge which one, she tells Variety how that experience paved the way for her to play a character who could become part of the next generation of MCU superheroes.
