I really thought it would be funny cause I like david mann, but the parents acting Is horrible..I'm not impressed at all.
  • Was looking forward to seeing both David and Tamela back in their respective roles as Mr. Leroy S. Brown and Cora Jean Simmons-Brown. loved them in meet the Browns. 4 episodes in and no Browns, the acting is stiff and seems off. Maybe if and when they show up they can save this show and put some comedy in it.
  • I would agree the actors timing is off, the mom and dad lack chemistry. The grandfather one liners are okay but again the timing is off. The mother is over acting and the father is stiff. The plot should be good if it is going to bring is other people.

I thought this would be a good family sitcom similar to a 90's style family sitcom. Unfortunately, it's filled with a lot of foul language and horrible acting by the lead characters. The actors who play the mom and dad have zero on screen chemistry as well as a lack of delivery. It almost seems as though they are improving instead of going by a script. Also, J Anthony has potential to carry the show but falls flat due to rushed dialogue and lack there of. If it weren't for the kid actors Tayler Buck and Alex Henderson the series would be the least bit interesting. Currently searching for the plot of the show because it's not apparent in any of the 2 episodes I've watched.
  • This has got to be the worst show that Tyler Perry has ever created. The show is just not funny! The laugh track is distracting, laughing at every line to things that are not at all funny. The casting of the roles for the husband and wife are off. The husband seems to be lost in the role and the wife is overacting, which is hard to watch. J. Anthony Brown would be okay in his role if he stops cussing every other word, which is a real downer and unnecessary. The actors that play the daughter and son, are the only interesting things about this show. They advertise this show with David and Tamala Mann from Meet The Browns, however, I'm four episodes in and so far, no Cora or Mr. Brown. So disappointing, maybe the Mann's could save this disaster! I love you TP, but not this!!

I've been a J. Anthony Brown fan for many years. I was really looking forward to watching the show. J. Anthony was huge on the TJMS because of his spontaneous wit and comedy. Producers: The profanity isn't necessary. Every time an obscenity came out of his mouth, I cringed. J. Can save this show if the foul language is cancelled. He's a funny man but the incessant 'cussing' is a distraction from the comedy. The dad is uptight & stiff which doesn't help either. I would love to see this show survive.

This show may very well be one of, if not the worst show I've ever watched. The acting is horrific as well as the story line. I'd much rather see repeats of Martin and/or Fresh Prince is this time slot!
  • I had high hopes that mr Brown and Cora could make this show watchable but they hardly have any screen time. The writing sucks and the actors suck.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I will be honest the first few episodes did not seem to have any relevance poorly written and acted. But, I gave it a chance and kept watching and by the end of season 1 I was watching every week. This show took some time to come to form and really form a cohesive show. Not sure why the ratings are low for this but it is likely because they only watched the first few episodes. When Mr. Brown came in it got even better. The comedy banter of Mr. Brown and J. Anthony is klassik stuff 4 real.
  • This is without a doubt the worst show in tv history. i figured my guy Tyler perry wrote it yeah ill watch it, but man man i struggled thru the first episode. im still trying to figure out what this show is about. j anthony is not funny thats the first mistake you cannot so far base a show really on him. but aside from that the acting sucks just everything sucks sucks sucks. tyler perry take this mess off you are too good to put junk out like this. and by the way. enough with the cursing. on your shows. its too much and its not you.
  • Has me cracking up! The grandpa and Mr. Brown are so funny! Hope Madea shows up!
  • Hate to say it, but this show is just like other Tyler Perry sitcoms - bad acting, plots that are lacking, no chemistry between the actors and the highly overdone mispronouncing of words.

The cussing could have been left out. Didn't do it on TBS, but now that it's on BET...

I am willing to give it a chance because it's a Tyler Perry production. The acting is poor, very poor. The storyline is weak and really not funny. Hoping it will get better.🤞🏼
  • The only thing that's saving this show is the Browns. Not J.Anthony Brown with all of that unnecessary profanity! You could've left him all the way out! If this series survive another season I would be surprised! Tyler Perry you have gone to the gutter with all of this cussing, homosexuality, acting out sex acts, on the other shows like the haves and have not (I stopped watching). Anyway back to this so call show, the children are disrespectful, and above all boring with all of that cussing! David and Tamala Mann should've had their own show!! The one star is for the Manns.

Episodes of 20 minutes long 3 minutes of dialogue and 19 minutes of non-stop non-stop bickering that has nothing to do about the series, you can edit 10 episodes to get 20 minutes worth of information.
  • I love Tyler Perry but this show is HORRIBLE!!!! Jay Anthony Brown does nothing but cuss!!!! Mad, mad, mad!!!!!
  • Im very surprised that Tyler Perry chose the mom and dad as a part of his cast. They just don't have it in them. Their acting is very poor and mediocre. I thought that J Anthony Brown would even do a better job but he still hasn't put his all into this one. The only reason I watch it is because of Mr. Brown and Coral. Lastly, Im not sure what had gotten into Tyler Perry because he has incorporated too much cursing into the scripts. Just bring us back Meet the Browns and all of the cast.

The writing on this show has really grown.

It took a couple episodes for the characters to morph into solid relationships and now this is can't miss TV.

I am glad some of the backing characters seem to be getting on more like Lindor and Efe.

Efe was the "hero" of last week's episode!

    :-)

    Looking forward to more.

This seems like it was just something quickly thrown out.. same ol'e jokes, even though he has an entire neighborhood worth of studio land this seems like the same ol'e cheaply made set.. Put some of those billions into your shows for God sakes and everything don't just has to be filmed right in your studio exclusively, put some actual realism into these shows, everybody don't just sit in the house all day and do stuff, it seems like no one goes outside on any of his shows and socialize, it's just the same faces each episode.. people tired.

I truly love this show. However. Courtney Nicole the mom on the show is way too extra. She acts like she's drunk always with the faces and can't be still. Seems like since she lost some weight her choice of clothing is a bit too much.

It would be a better show if there was not so much cussing ugly words! Cannot watch it with young kids in the room or they will pick up the ugly words... There is no need for them! 😠

Nasty Grandpa does too much cussing. The show is boring.
  • J Anthony Brown is NOT funny! The show is not funny. I tried but I just CAN'T.

The acting is terrible. The plot is terrible. Easily one of TP's worse projects to date.

I'm hoping the storyline will improve but the number one complaint I have is the excessive profanity. Not use to this in a Tyler Perry show and it's not necessary. This is not a family show and please stop the fake audience laughs-it's annoying. Really disappointed in this show considering there are veteran actors in the sitcom.
