I love call of duty games, so simplistic and it takes your mind off everything for a short while. Multiplayer is usually fun, but the main light is on the campaign and zombies for me. But man, did they really screw up this game.
First off, the campaign is way too short, but it makes up with its creativity and quality. There's only 7 missions in the game, but they really put heart into those 7 missions. Like in one mission, where you get to choose 4 different options to go about it, I found really impressive. The story, despite what others say, I found good, especially towards the end. However, the "dialogue impacting the story" is minimal, so don't get hopes up on that. Also, enemies are super easy to kill, even on the hardest difficult. I only had problems with the heavies, and those were the only enjoyable parts. The lag in the cutscenes was unbearable, so much so that I would skip them and just go to YouTube for it. The campaign also needs to install separately, and has three different parts needed to download, which is a pain to find. Otherwise, it was a good campaign but did not deliver what was promised.
Multiplayer is finally good again. Instead of the same three pathways and only two story buildings, they finally got creative with it, especially on Armada and Crossroads. The weapons seem really balanced, each ones have there advantages, and I feel like none of them are overpowered. Perks, lethal and tactical stayed mostly the same, so don't worry about that. Abilities is fun to mess around with though, and can make or break a kit. I am not a big fan of the new score streak system, but I can understand it. The score streaks themselves are fun to use though. Overall, a great multiplayer.
Zombies is just like the campaign, decent. Instead of letting the player figure everything out, it just straight up tells you where to go and what to do, which I thought was an awful concept. Exploring is half the fun of zombies. Perks are lackluster, but you have the ability to gain all of them now, which is nice. The elite is decent, and the rounds get decently harder. The weapon choice is bad, with the only super being a nerfed ray gun. Players can now pack a punch three times though, which is cool when going for higher rounds. I do understand why Activision made these choices, for the newer players, but I rather something too complicated than too easy.
Overall, it's a decent game. Definitely not one of the best, but definitely not one of the worst. I feel like a 6 star rating is a rating fit for a game so lackluster and short.
