Just watched the MGA episode. The man goes to the maker of genuine rally seats for old MGs and other British sports cars. He goes and orders a stupid tartan covering which a) would be laughed out of any classic car competition paddock and b) ignores the fact that those products have remained unchanged since the days when they were the gun thing to have.
Then the equally ridiculous graphics. Thank God they were not used.
Why, oh why did they not just model the car on the brilliant Sebring coupes of the day? I could turn a stock MGA coupe into a gorgeous top-selling Sebring coupe replica for half what these two spent on that thing and got more money for a far more desirable and authentic car. Dunlop alloy racing knock-ons, Sebring replica front and rear aprons instead of the chrome bumpers, plain leather replica racing seats, a big racing tank in the boot with a large alloy flip-up filler poking out of the bootlid. And all for less than the man paid for that travesty.
For somebody who is alleged to have a sense of style and knowledge of classics he's an absolute bunny when it comes to this stuff. He made that beautiful little MG T series end up looking like a Morris 8 tourer. What a joke.
PLEASE LISTEN TO PAUL and stay out of critical decisions man.
