If your perception of what makes a great racing game is on the lukewarm side of things, then your out of luck. If however, your the kind of gamer that is looking for a game that is breathtakingly fast, then look no further because Wipeout Pulse, like it's predecessor, is one hell of a racing game on the PSP. As my first introduction to the franchise, I gotta say that this game is unbelievably fast, especially when you advance to the later classes which crank up the difficulty to awesome levels; you hardcore types will love this. And since you can download new tracks coupled with multi-player, you're sold. And it's a beautiful game to boot with bright colors all in a futuristic setting with equally excellent techno music with pulsating beats and percussion loops brought together by some of the finest musicians of the genre in the business. In addition, you can even create your own custom paint job!!! Really cool. but most importantly, it controls like a dream and the framerate is smooth as ice cream with hot fudge with a cherry on top. If you want portable racing action with speed and style to match, then you owe it to yourself to pick this game up at the sweet price of $19.95.
