The situations lacked real feeling
This story by Sidney Rosenfeld does not make a very strong offering. Rosemary Theby was very attractive in the leading part, but the emotional scene where she stabs herself and places a drop of blood in the rose was too melodramatic. The situations lacked real feeling, and portions of the film were none too clear photographically. - The Moving Picture World, November 1, 1913
