Jack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too.
When telling Jack how he lost a leg, Barbossa says "I am the master of my fate!". This is a quote from the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley, who had also lost a leg. Henley, who was an influential figure in late 19th century British literature, was one of the inspirations for Robert Louis Stevenson when he wrote the character of Long John Silver, the famous one-legged pirate of Treasure Island.
You were the only pirate I thought I could pass for.
Jack Sparrow: That is NOT a compliment.
(at around 33 mins) Angelica Teach is seen wearing a Stetson hat. The stories are based in the 1700's and the Stetson hat did not appear until at least 1865.
There is a scene at the end of the closing credits: Angelica acquires Jack Sparrow's voodoo doll.
