After watching their respective partners die, a New Orleans hitman and a Washington, D.C. detective form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy.
Wayne Kramer was originally hired to direct in February 2011. After clashing with Sylvester Stallone over the tone of the film, he left the production and was replaced by Walter Hill on April 11, 2011. Kramer's version was much darker than Stallone wanted.
The guy I just saved is a cop. That's not the usual way I do things, but sometimes you gotta abandon your principles and do what's right.
Towards the end of the film, when Bonomo is in the warehouse, he climbs a set of stairs with graffiti on the side, in the next scene when he's reached the next level the same set of stairs is in the background of the shot.
In the opening credits, an animated flying bullet destroys the logos of the various production companies.
