    Delightful!

To be honest, although we loved FOTB 1 & 2, we were sad that Annie finally chose a career in Boston over the closeness of her extended family in California. The writers obviously chose to favor the feminist notion that a woman's career comes first! Really? Is your job more important than your husband & newborn at home, and the grandparents? After all, a job is just money.

My family actually toyed with submitting a screenplay of our own wherein the family-ensemble visit Boston and help Annie & husband see sense & re-patriate to California! I know, it's just a movie! But still, suitable closure was still found wanting!

Hence, my delight in seeing a Zoom ensemble of the original players (esp. Steve Martin & Martin Short, who are great buds & collaborators these days!) for a wrap-up Episode 3 (25 minutes). This was produced (2020) during the Covid restrictions-so, there was no travel to a studio/location or ensemble scenes. Not sure how much (if anything) the actors were paid. No, it wasn't the conclusion I had planned, but all are happy, and there is a new family development. Enjoy!

    Yes and No

First the positives - good to see the cast back together. And new additions were great (apart from Deniro). It's been a long time. And, yes, it was just a quickie Flic done to support a charity .... fantastic. And we really appreciate the restrictions and mammoth difficulty in shooting during covid19. Well done to push out anything at this point. But.... It just seemed to be a waste of a great plot for what could have been a much better movie. Matty getting married could have been a superb. George at his eccentric best as NOT the father of the bride. Frank doing his best Frank. More depth, more story. Like 2020 has been a disappointment to put it mildly. And the casting of Robert Deniro was not good. He seemed bored. And he's already part of the "Meet the parents" franchise, so a weird addition. An actor like Samuel L. Jackson would be superb. Aim higher next time.

    Super cute and very touching!

I loved this and it was just what we need in these troubled times. The chemistry was there between everyone, just like they had never been apart. It really felt like we were looking at a real family. It was so heart warming. Thank you, Netflix, for making this happen.

One of the best feel good movies there is

This was my movie to go to when I am sick it make me feel good.

But ever since I became a father of daughters, I cry from this movie.

It touches in all of the right places.

It make appreciate every second of my time with my daughters.

    He is funny, and touching.

Even the over acting of some of the actors feeling right in.

Steve Martin is a genius and a great actor.

    Kimberly Williams-Paisley is perfection.

She is the perfect daughter pretty and smart, her acting is great.

The chemistry between them is what makes this movie so good.

This is a underrated movie. It deserves so much more love.

    Too cute!

I think most of us would have loved a full-length feature, but I forgive it being what it is, given the circumstances. MANY actors came together in this way to keep us entertained in a very dark time, usually for charity. I really appreciate that they did that.

It's 2024 now, and I watch this looking back on the pandemic. The jokes are nostalgic and ring true. Many of us had multi-generational Zoom meetings in 2020, and a lot of what they said regarding the pandemic are very true. In my family, my dad and stepmom were constantly checking to make sure my siblings and I were set with supplies. We did talk over each other trying to explain how Zoom worked to certain family members. We did celebrate events via Zoom. My son graduated in 2020, and my brother got married, and our whole family phoned in both events. I'm forever grateful for that.

As far as the story goes, the characters are a family again, and that's what it's about. They played family in the 90s, and there's a definite familial vibe in this special feature. It was great to see "Matty" grown up and having his own story.

It's important to remember that the purpose of this was to connect with familiar characters and raise money. Cinematography shouldn't be considered. The script is good, and the family vibe in 2020 is spot-on.
