  • I loved this and it was just what we need in these troubled times. The chemistry was there between everyone, just like they had never been apart. It really felt like we were looking at a real family. It was so heart warming. Thank you, Netflix, for making this happen.
  • The folks who play George MacKenzie, Megan Banks, Rachel and James were phenomenal first off. Seeing George, Nina, Annie, Bryan, Matty and Franck again felt nostalgic. I wondered why it wasn't touched upon with Annie and Bryan having more kids, but no big deal. The personalities are the same and everyone still looks just the same. I for one, would love to see more actual movies with this amazing cast!

First the positives - good to see the cast back together. And new additions were great (apart from Deniro). It's been a long time. And, yes, it was just a quickie Flic done to support a charity .... fantastic. And we really appreciate the restrictions and mammoth difficulty in shooting during covid19. Well done to push out anything at this point. But.... It just seemed to be a waste of a great plot for what could have been a much better movie. Matty getting married could have been a superb. George at his eccentric best as NOT the father of the bride. Frank doing his best Frank. More depth, more story. Like 2020 has been a disappointment to put it mildly. And the casting of Robert Deniro was not good. He seemed bored. And he's already part of the "Meet the parents" franchise, so a weird addition. An actor like Samuel L. Jackson would be superb. Aim higher next time.
  • We need a full length father of the bride 3 please!

    Warning: Spoilers
I watch both Father of the Bride movies multiple times a month. They're some of my favorites, and I've been hoping for a third part for years. I knew this special wouldn't be the caliber of a real movie, but I was excited about it.

Unfortunately I found it fairly derivative and forced. There were a lot of awkward references to the movies that were designed to be nostalgic for the viewer, but come off unnaturally when dropped in conversation. Kieran Culkin in particular was very awkward and seemed to be trying too hard. He came off as fake and way too "actor-y."

It really didn't work to have George and Nina separated in the house. It had to be done due to the nature of the filming but it made no sense to have them zooming from two computers in the same house, especially if this is their son getting married.

I also thought it was really strange to have Matty and his fiancée get married over Zoom, which I don't think is even legal. And the fact that Annie and Brian never had another child seems out of character. They had no problem dropping in a random woman and her father and expecting us to immediately care about them, so they could have given them another kid or two.

I liked the grown up babies more than I thought I would. Somehow they felt the most natural even though they were new to the cast. It was nice seeing the Banks family again, and I enjoyed the little bit of warmth I got from the nostalgia rush, but hopefully there will be a real movie someday that isn't so gimmicky.
  • As a fan of the first two films, this quick flick is a POSITIVE breath of fresh air that most people need right now. This fun, fast script exudes happiness and captures the love the Banks family is famous for. Everyone is all grown up (literally) and pulled off a storyline (virtually) that somehow managed to pull at the heartstrings. The new characters, including Robert DeNiro are authentically fantastic and likable. I applaud the entire cast and crew for pulling something like this together for charity. What an amazing (and surprising) random act of kindness! Much gratitude to all...Ten stars and beyond!
  • Sure, I would love to have had a two hour movie with all of my favorites from the 1st and 2nd film... It's the middle of covid and I'm thankful and so happy that they made it the way they did! Great Job! Thanks for caring enough to try and make the day of all of us lovers of this movie Franchise! I've loved these films for the beginning... I know them line after line! I just wish I could own my own copy! Seeing everyone after all this time just made it more special!

    Thanks again all of you!

Ps... Just wish that Marta the Housekeeper (a friend of mines mom) was still here to have been in it...

    Warning: Spoilers
I gave it a 5 because it was nice to see everyone together but the dialogue was super corny and it seemed like the new characters got more limelight than Anne and Brian. I wanted to know what the characters have been up to all this time, not wonder what they've been doing in the pandemic. Plus looking back on it, it's ridiculous they're even keeping their packages out for a few days. Hopefully they'll make a proper sequel now that the pandemic is over and they can give all the characters the justice they deserve. What happened to Anne and Brian after moving to Boston? How did George and Nina fair as older parents?

This is possibly the worst movie ever. Everything about this movie sucks. It's like one big advertisement for washing powder: before and after but with reverse effects. Complete miscasting of DeNiro and the others are not much better, with their eyes open like a bunch of Evil Dead-zombies altogether saying "join us". Once again the West has proven itself to be cultishly unreal. Boo! Bad Nancy Meyers! Bad!

    Warning: Spoilers
I've seen both part one and two over 15 years ago, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard about part three (ish). The only correct way of watching part three, was to watch one and two again of course! Overly excited, I began watching part three and I was instantly sad. To see that it was a zoom meeting for a full 25 minutes was just unbelievable. I understand it was for a good cause, but come on now!! I expected at least an hour worth of footage and I was praying they wouldn't be on zoom the entire time. Now I see why the "ish" was added to the title. I'm just hoping maybe they can actually give us a FULL part three now.

    1/10
    Why?
    Warning: Spoilers
This was embarrassing to watch. A zoom call set in the Covid pandemic? Who and cares was my first impression. I closed it with the same.

Characters were not endearing and script lacked substance. Absolute snore 😴
  • Warning: Spoilers
"Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish)" is a 25-minute live acction short film from 2020. This premiered in late September 2020 and this means it is still way under three months old and still scored millions of views on Youtube already. Not too shabby. The reason may be that the cast list is phenomenal to say the least. I cannot really elaborate in detail here which of the actors were also part of the original film(s) and which of them are new additions. Only one I checked because I like her quite a bit and Florence Pugh seems to be new. Anyway, you can check out the cast list yourself, so I'm not gonna go much into detail now who's on board here. The writer and director still gets a mention and this is Oscar nominee Nancy Meyers of course and she is around the age of 70 at this point. One who definitely was in the old movies is Steve Martin. It's kinda true he has not aged a lot in 20 years, but that is mostly because his hair had the same color pretty much already back in 2000. As I quite like "The 10th Kingdom", I was glad to see Kimberly Williams-Paisley in here because as she was probably a much bigger star back then than she is today, you don't really get to see her that often anymore. But still really nice to see her around again, even if her material is only minimal unfortunately. (The other) Culkin gets much better material. The first half everybody gets a little but, but in the second half it's his character who basically gets married online to the woman he is already engaged to. But it's corona time and this film is set in 2020 now as well, so they are talking all through their webcams if they find the buttons.

Okay I must say I did not really laugh a lot watching this one. The first half without the wedding was still better and more entertaining overall, but the wedding felt zero touching to me. So this should not be an official sequel. Just make a new third movie at some point in the future because I kinda feel the outcome here does not have the most positive effect on the duology. Hesitant to call it a trilogy. De Niro is of course a big star and another reason why many watched this probably. Also how Netflix promoted it in an official manner as a live stream on their Youtube channel. So yeah, I suppose this is all I have to say here for now. Highlights for me were Pugh and KWP, even if they had literally nothing to work with, but Oscar nominee Pugh is such a scene stealer nonetheless these days. Awesome. Really curious about her future. The negative highlight was maybe the fella who was in charge of marrying the two. With everything basically. The way he talked. The way he acted. All so ham and over the top I just could not enjoy it. By the way, reviewing this short film as somebody who has not (yet) seen the film(s) before that and I must say what I got to see here also did not get me particularly curious. And what was up with that Reese Witherspoon introduction? Felt pretty much out of place. Oh well. I give the entire thing a thumbs-down, but maybe I will change my mind anytime soon when I'm watching the full feature movie from a long time ago. Not really soon though.
  • I know this is for a good cause but this made me wish the vaccines actually did kill me so I wouldn't have stumbled onto this catastrophe. Robert DiNiro was the only highlight for me, not because he was good but because he represented how I felt while watching this abomination, half asleep, apathetic to the "movie" and confused as to why they were doing it in the first place. The most interesting part of the movie was the script to succession that Kiran Culkin was reading offscreen. One other positive is that this movie sucked so many noodles, Netflix moved it to youtube which I can watch at 2x speed. Every single person in this is better in everything else they're in, except Ben Platt, he can suck an egg.
