Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 royal wedding wasn’t their “dream.” According to the Duke of Sussex’s Spare memoir, he and the Duchess of Sussex had something else in mind for their nuptials.

Harry proposed to Meghan in November 2017 at Nottingham Cottage, their then-Kensington Palace home. As he recalled in Spare, which dropped on Jan. 10, 2023, they wanted to become husband and wife soon. However, there’d been a palace-sized roadblock.
“We wanted to get married quickly,” Harry wrote (via UsWeekly). “But the Palace couldn’t seem to pick a date. Or a venue.”
So he and Meghan waited “for a decree from on high, from the nebulous upper regions of the royal decision-making apparatus.” During that time they went around the U.K.

Pippa Middleton and James Matthews tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in the English countryside on Saturday, but not every moment of their big day was perfect. After Kate Middleton's younger sister walked down the aisle in a gorgeous Giles Deacon dress, the couple headed to the Middleton family's estate for the reception. Just as the night's festivities were really kicking into gear, James's best man, Justin Johannsen, delivered a 10-minute speech to the 300 guests. According to E! News, Justin began his speech at around 11:30 p.m., which started off with innocently thanking everyone for coming. Things took an unfortunate turn, however, when he compared Pippa to James's dog (not kidding). Justin brought up "the love of James' life," whom he called "beautiful, energetic, loyal, and soft-mouthed," adding that she "comes on command" and has a "great behind." "But that's enough about James's spaniel," he said. "I'm...

Pippa Middleton married financier James Matthews in a stunning ceremony in the UK on May 20. While the 33-year-old didn't become a duchess like her older sister, Kate, she did receive a title of her own. Because James is heir to the Scottish title of Laird of Glen Affric (a position his father currently holds), Pippa will now be able to use the courtesy title of Mrs. Matthews of Glen Affric the younger. Once James's dad dies and he becomes the Laird of Glen Affric, Pippa will become Lady Glen Affric. RelatedKate Middleton Gives Princess Charlotte a Flower Girl Pep Talk at Pippa's Wedding Pippa's future father-in-law, David Matthews, owns the 10,000-acre Scottish highlands estate, which features a castle and a deer park. David acquired the title when he bought the property in 2008, and James will inherit it upon his dad's death, though he may choose to not formally use it.
