At the meeting with KGB chief Yuri Andropov in Baghdad in December 1977, Carlos is assisted by an interpreter. However, Carlos spoke Russian. He had studied Russian since he was a teenager, and he later attended university in Moscow.
At the 2010 Vancouver International Film Festival, "Carlos" was screened theatrically, all three parts back-to-back with a single set of credits at the very end. The total running time was 326 minutes, not including the intermission.
