Frightening & Intense Scenes (11)

  • Mild
  • This film is a little bit more crude than most computer animated films.
  • The scene where the girls are sent away/back to Miss Hattie's can be emotional. Sad music plays After Dr Nefario Contacted her for Distracting Gru of his Mission to Stealing the Moon.
  • A man is in a plane when it is shot by a shrink ray. It then starts shrinking. The man is fine but the scene may affect claustrophobic viewers.
  • This is a pretty mild-mannered movie, not much negative/intense content.
  • When Gru finds out that the girls have been kidnapped by a villain, the movie starts getting intense from there.
  • A lot of action sequences involving high-tech weapons that blast things to smithereens, as well as some scenes that imply injury -- although no one is ever killed or seriously injured.
  • Orphanages are portrayed in a very negative light. The orphans were put in a "box of shame" at their orphanage.
  • The roller Coster ride might be scary to some. (But still fun.)
  • The scene were the shark tries to break though the tank in order to get Gru and the minions could be scary to kids or people who have a fear of sharks.
  • Edith wanders into an Iron Maiden trap, which slams closed with her in it. The others seem panicked, and we see what appears to be blood pouring out of the bottom of the iron maiden. It is revealed that Edith is fine and the 'blood' was fruit juice.
  • There is a chase scene near the end of the film which involves Gru chasing Vector for kidnapping the girls. This may be intense because the girls lives are endangered.
