Played a lot of D&D as a kid in the 80's/90's and grew up playing Dungeon Master, OG Diablo, Mars Saga, Wasteland etc and always loved RPGs. Something happened to a lot of PC games since then where it seemed to lose the soul that makes a good game great. I veered away from RGPs on PC as it was typically first person and real time, and while a lot of people enjoy that format I still like the fun that comes with turn based combat and proper dungeon crawling. I spent my adult years playing simulators and strategy games in lieu of the RPG genre, right up until a very good friend told me about Balder's Gate 3. I had a spare evening and decided to purchase the game, a week later I'd sunk 107 hours in to this veritable masterpiece.
The graphics are stunning, the story and gameplay are deep, and the voice acting really adds depth and texture to the game to really draw you in. A lot of games have really cringe voice acting but I was shocked with how good BG3 is on this front. There's some epic moments with some epic cut scenes which blew me away, and there's so much to see and do I think this will be my go to game for months to come; if not years! I've just started Act 2 and I'm already planning my next play through. Congrats to the team and all involved, you knocked this one out the park. I haven't lost myself in a game this much since the Amiga days, due in part to growing up, but this game managed to bring out the kid in me again and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Peace, love and respect from Australia.

This is without a doubt the best RPG to date I have ever played and I have played a wide range of RPGs (and MMORPGs).
Pros, varying storyline like no other, utterly immersive, the maps, sets, areas are unbelievably detailed and intricate, the accuracy to DnD systems, the depth of every single character companion, the character creation system and the (not yet confirmed but highly likely) replayability of 100"s-1000's of hours, split screen CO-OP with 2 controllers is just so fluid.
Cons, you can't disable the turn based combat, I feel this would make it appeal to the action rpg fans, and there aren't enough hours in the day to play it.

This is probably one of the best games on release in the past couple years. It's a bar raiser at its least. This game is complex but also relatively straightforward.
There is an immense amount of lore and character choice. The writing is fantastic and the game really doesn't feel boring whatsoever.
There are so many different ways to play, so many different paths that have small to massive impact on the way the game is played.
Realistically this is one of the best games I've ever played. It's absolutely stunning how amazing the game looks, feels, plays... it's honestly a jawdropping achievement in RPG's.
If there was any improvements I could request, they would simply be nitpicking and i do feel like i gotta really search for a problem. Like maybe I wish the equipment system was a little less derivative/slow, but it really isn't that bad. Also some of the companions are a little annoying, but I just slaughtered them... WHICH IS COOL. ITS COOL I CAN DO THAT!!!
Overall, fantastic story, fantastic character design, Amazing lore, immense player choice, and wonderful game play. There are very few things that could be improved in this masterpiece of a videogame. I hope future developers use this as inspiration as I just can't give this game enough praise.
High to mid 10/10.

I've completed the game going the heroic route. Did every side quest. I adore this game. Honestly, my favorite game of all time, not lying. Negative reviews on here are by trolls that's have low attention spans. If you want fantastic writing, characters arcs performed by amazing voice talent, and enjoy turned based strategy and role playing you will love this game. It's essentially just Dungeons and Dragons. Same rules. However, imagine playing D&D with the best dungeon master ever and beautiful computer graphics illustrating your story. It's also not afraid to get totally absurd, goofy, or just plain freaky deeky if that's your style. It's up to you. You can have sex with a bear. It's pretty rad. Lol. Honestly though, it will probably hit you on an emotional level the more seriously you take it. Finishing the game for me was an extremely emotional experience for me after 250 hours. The denouement was fantastic. I really needed that, and it was great that they put it in there. It's really sad to end the game because you really become friends in a way with your companions. You actually really care about them. Such great writing. Minor bugs are forgivable on the technical side, after all it is a video game. It's also an extremely complex game with so many variables. This is a game for grown ups, not inpatient button smashers. If you're mature and love D&D, it doesn't get any better than this.
A technical stable game that is far beyond a videogame. Literally everything is pure art. The story is not one story instead the player has hundreds of different outcomes. Aside that, the storyline itself and dialogues are worth multiple oscars. Same goes for the voice acting, music graphics, physics, love to details and choreography, which no game ever had before at this quality level.
On average you can expect 80-120 hours of gameplay, where an incredibly bounding to your teammates happens.
In over 30 years of playing games, I never had sich an immersive experience like in this masterpiece.
