  • Don't confuse this with the movie on Amazon Prime. This movie actually has a story! Christmas Staycation (2021) on Amazon Prime is actually A Dog For Christmas (2015), they just took the same movie and gave it a new title this year. This Christmas Staycation is a zoom moive from 2020 with actually heart and story! You can buy this Christmas Staycation on DVD at Barnes and Nobles and stream on Vimeo and Hoopla. 2 completey different movies!
  • Not many good things came out of 2020, but this is one of those good things! This movie is destined to be a Christmas Cult Classic. It's modern, fitting, and hysterical for so many reasons. From the bad online dates to trying to satisfy your family when your family can't be together, there's so much this family can't get right. And we've all been there. The cast is incredibly talented and the Gloomgardy Family is a dysfunctional mess that you can't help but love. Yule have a good time with all these virtual Christmas antics.
  • This is not the Christmas Staycation on Amazon Prime. This is the original that came out in 2020 and has a much better story!!! Please don't confuse them. This one was filmed all over zoom and is about a family that physicallly can't be together. The one on Amazon Prime is a "A Dog For Christmas" (2015) that they renamed with this title. If you're going to review that movie, look up a "A Dog for Christmas" (2015). This movie, "Christmas Staycation" (2020) is not on Prime, but is on DVD and streaming on Hoopla and Vimeo.
  • For a film all shot on Zoom, this was wonderful! Instead of ignoring the pandemic like most holiday movies this season, Christmas Staycation embraces this very strange year and makes it hilarious! From the Zoom-A-Santa scenes to the epic "Gloomgarty Christmas Party" with "28 virtual rooms," this is a laugh riot with a lot of heart and some very sweet moments. The acting is very well done and the jokes are almost non-stop once the story gets going. My favorite scenes were Charlotte's zoom job interviews, every scene with Fiona, and of course, Cousin Skeexo stole the show! I don't know if Boston Market sponsored this, but they certainly should with all those Boston Market jokes. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this! Hands down, this is the Christmas film of 2020! It's incredibly relatable, hysterical, and endearing.
  • When it comes to Computer Screen Films, the one genre that rules them all and that's Horror. So I was surprised to see there's also a Chrismtas comedy out there that makes you actially LOL. Christmas Staycation is short, sweet, and gets you out of the pandemic funk if you're still in it. I really loved the 3 siblings and the original storylines they had to deal with. The Zoom Santa "My Dad is dead" scene made me lose my s***! Amd there's plenty more of funny scenes afterward. The one drawback is the visual quality isn't top notch, but again, it's a computer screen film, so just enjoy the ride! And there's a lot to enjoy!
  • Christmas Staycation is surprisingly glorious! There's a touching family story with so much humor for modern times. It's empathetic to everyone who's been using Zoom for this entire pandemic and feels like The Office in many ways. Seeing if you worked in an office, you get The Office. Every character brings something quirky, distinct, and charming. The writing, acting, and pace is so well done that you'll forget you're watching a computer screen film. Give it a shot and you will find yourself laughing incessantly.
  • People are getting this confused with the movie of the same title on Amazon Prime. This is NOT THAT MOVIE! That movie came out in 2015 with a different name, this one came out on 2020 and has to do with the pandemic, but in a Very Funny way!!! It's actually the best Computer Screen Film I've every seen! You wouldn't think a comedy on Zoom could work, but with all the family storylines and like 10 jokes every minute, this Christmas Staycation is very well done!
  • Defintiey worth a quick watch! Very much surprised at how much I enjoyed this film. The storylines, characters, and acting are solid and the jokes are original and UPROARIOS!!! The entire movie is over Zoom, but you can tell the cast and crew had A LOT OF FUN making this! The movie derides it's own platform and this time our lives and the results are heartwarming and hilarious!
  • If you're looking for a Christmas movie that really stands out, Christmas Staycation is it! This isn't like all those Hallymarky Snoooozefests and the production isn't at all like a Hollywood Blockbuster, but Christmas Staycation has more heart and laughs than any recent Christmas movie. Yeah, it's all on Zoom and the pandemic is a big part of it, but the story is heatfelt, the family has real problems, and the jokes are non-stop! The actors did a phemonal job with this and the writing is top-notch. If you need to a pick me up this holiday season, this is a total recommend!
  • This Chrismtas Staycation film is a comedic computer screen film made on Zoom in December 2020! It takes place during the pandemic and has a great story. There's ANOTHER Christmas Staycation that came out this year that is NOT THIS! That is another movie that came out in 2015 and took this title for 2021. If you're looking for the original Christmas Staycation, this one is it! And it's worth the watch!!! Super original and filled with hard laughs and heart!
  • Saw this at a film festival and I can't believe it worked. I was laughing so much that I forgot I was watching a Zoom movie. You just find yourself caring for these characters who physically can't be together and they're all funny. Incredibly unique film and really, really well done.

Fantastic Christmas Comedy! Seriously, how did this movie not get more attention? It's freaking hilarious!!! The characters are dynamic, strong, and hysterical. The "Pants or No Pants" Zoom game show was so funny, sweet, and such a wonderful ending. Loved it!
  • This movie will be a comedy staple of 2020. I've seen it a few times now and even after quarantine, the jokes still hold up. It's a quick, sweet, and very funny film. So much of the cast are dynamic, charming, and delivers the laughs. Annie Abrams does a phenomenal job as the lead, Marisa Dzintars is hysterical as Cousin Skeexo, and Jake McKenzie as the Zoom Santa is classic! The pandemic was terrible, but sometimes, you get comedic gold like this.
  • Just watched Christmas Staycation. It was very enjoyable. The acting was better than I had anticipated. Overall, given the social distancing & virtual interfacing, it was a 4 and a half out of 5 stars. I was impressed.
    • Concerned Father to one of the cast
  • Like how Home Alone ecompassed a time before cell phones and the early 1990's, this film eccompassed a time when we couldn't leave our houses or see our family on Christmas because of a Covid-19 Pandemic. Now that we're a couple years after the worst of it, I recentley watched this film again for Xmas and it still holds up! Just as much as it did when it was released in December 20202. There's so many superb jokes and one-liners that make me crack up! Fans wanted a sequel last year and we may not ever get that, but maybe someday we'll get a Cousin Skeexo feature film (Skeex Skeex was my favorite character and I think other fans agree too), but in the meantime, I might watch this every Holiday season. It has just as much heart and hilarity as Home Alone, Elf, Love Actually, and other Christmas classics.
  • That was all my feels when I saw this movie. Yule laugh so hard if you experienced a 2020 Christmas.
  • A movie made on Zoom that actually makes you laugh and is full of heart! At first, I was a little hesitant to watch this, but then I connecting with the characters and really caring about that virtual Christmas party that Alice has to throw. Also, I found myself laughing constantly. Hands down, my favorite character is Cousin Skeexo and her search for Boston Market. The zoom dates were also pretty funny too. When the movie starts, you wonder if the whole thing is on Zoom, but it becomes so much fun that my brain totally forgot that it was a Zoom movie. If you're looking for a Christmas movie that's non-traditional and will make feel good, this is a good one!
