The sixth season of the FX series What We Do in the Shadows will also be the show’s last. The final batch of episodes are scheduled to start airing on October 21st at 10 p.m. Et/Pt… and fans will have the chance to watch the first three episodes that night! The remaining eight episodes of the 11-episode season will be released on a weekly basis, and will be available to stream the next day on Hulu. They’ll be available to stream internationally on Disney+ at a later date. When the new episodes do air, viewers will be introduced to a new character: someone named Lisa, who “works in a corporate environment,” and today Deadline revealed that Lisa will be played by comedian Alyssa Limperis.

Limperis’ previous credits include Flatbush Misdemeanors, The List, Aunty Donna’s House, and Too Late. She also voices multiple characters on the Cartoon Network show We Baby Bears.

The Flatbush Misdemeanors alum has joined the sixth and final season of the FX comedy, which premieres on October 21.

Limperis plays Lisa, who “works in a corporate environment” in the show, which stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillen, Mark Proksch and Kristen Schaal.

Limperis starred in Showtime’s Flatbush Misdemeanors and has been in Universal Pictures’ feature The List, in Aunty Donna’s House on Netflix, voices multiple characters on the Cartoon Network show We Baby Bears and stars in the indie horror/comedy feature Too Late alongside Fred Armisen.

Best known for her viral mom videos, she also has an hourlong comedy special about losing her dad called No Bad Days on Peacock.

The Environmental Media Association (Ema) has announced its list of nominees for the 2023 Ema Awards that recognizes productions for environmental excellence, and revealed that actor and activist Laura Dern will be the Gala honoree.

Netflix leads the way with seven nominations, including the features Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and White Noise, the reality show Queer Eye and the documentary series Down to Earth with Zac Efron. Avatar: The Way of Water also scored a nomination in the features category.

Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network production workers are attempting to unionize with The Animation Guild (Tag).

A petition was filed with the National Labor Relations Board today requesting a union election. The petition includes 66 staffers at Warner Bros. Animation and 22 at Cartoon Network, including roles like production manager, digital production assistant, It technician, production coordinator, production assistant, design production coordinator, assistant production manager and senior assistant production manager.

They are involved in such Warner Bros. projects as Batman: The Caped Crusader, Harley Quinn and Teen Titans Go! and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, We Baby Bears and Craig of the Creek.

The workers also requested voluntary recognition from management at the Warner Bros. Discovery subsidiaries.

Max, the new name of HBO Max as of May 23rd, will be adding a new food series with Zooey Deschanel, an animated series set in the world of Gremlins, and the rebirth of Clone High to its streaming lineup in June 2023. The Idol, starring The Weeknd and Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily-Rose, arrives on June 4th after dividing the crowd at Cannes, and the much-anticipated third season of Warrior kicks off on June 29th.

Max’s June lineup also includes new seasons of And Just Like That…, Painting with John, and The Righteous Gemstones. Theatrical releases making their way to the streaming service include Avatar: The Way of Water and Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

It might not look like it right now, but May will mark a monumental for HBO Max. On May 23, the streaming service will be dropping the HBO from its name and will officially be rebranded as Max, which will include a massive amount of new content that will be available to stream, with many of the new titles coming from under the Discovery umbrella. Two very different stop-motion films lead the way in nominations from Asifa-Hollywood: Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio from Netflix and A24’s Marcel the Shell with Shoes On drew up nine and eight noms, respectively, with Disney/Pixar’s Turning Red next with seven.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio took the first film award of the night, for Best Production Design, Feature.

There are several must-watch new TV shows on both HBO and HBO Max this month, new and returning. Acclaimed Jean Smart comedy “Hacks” returns for Season 2 on May 12. With movie theaters fully back up and running, HBO Max no longer has any major film releases to point to with its list of new releases for May 2022. That’s alright though as the streamer is leaning into the HBO side of its branding to offer up some fun TV releases.

The biggest HBO Max original this month is undoubtedly the return of Hacks on May 12. The first season of this comedy starred Jean Smart as a venerated Vegas comedy and Hannah Einbinder as her new millennial assistant. The first batch of episodes was excellent and even won an Emmy or two for its troubles and now season 2 will look to keep up the good vibes.

Premiering on May 15, is The Time Traveler’s Wife. This series adaptation of the 2003 novel (which in turn became a a 2009 movie) keeps up with two star-crossed lovers who can never quite make the timing work…...

We Baby Bears is returning for a second season on Cartoon Network. The animated series premiered on the cable channel on New Year's Day and it is now available for viewing on HBO Max. Starring the voices of Connor Andrade, Amari McCoy, and Max Mitchell, the series follows a group of bears as they search for a new home via a magical box.

“We Baby Bears” — the origins story of “We Bare Bears” brothers Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear — is returning for a second season. WarnerMedia Kids & Family has renewed the prequel series for a second season, which will air on HBO Max and Cartoon Network. The news comes the same day that “We Baby Bears,” which premiered on Cartoon Network earlier this month, becomes available on HBO Max.

Calvin Wong will serve as showrunner for season two; Daniel Chong and Manny Hernandez continue as executive producers.

Produced by Cartoon Network Studios, “We Baby Bears” was Cartoon Network’s top-rated telecast for the week ending Jan. 2 and gave the network its highest rated Saturday since April 2021, according to the channel. The CW announced a new docuseries titled “March,” which will explore Hbcu band culture. The series will premiere on Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. before moving to a Sunday 9 p.m. timeslot on Feb. 27.

With eight parts, “March” focuses on The Marching Storm, the prestigious marching band at Prairie View A&m University, following how the students balance the pressure of band and academics at once.
