  • Almost nothing happens throughout the movie -- the lead actor mopes around the whole movie and is pretty unconvincing as an actor.

The lead actress who plays the wife was but the movie itself was too boring to be worth watching. This could easily have been a 20 minute movie.
  • This movie, alas, didn't add much to the topic of a couple dealing with her being raped (for the curious: the rape itself isn't shown). With two mediocre actors (she with a resemblance to Kaley Cuoco) and a screenplay providing almost no plot ideas, we have to watch much too long the husband struggling with the fact that the perpetrator is unknown and the chances to catch him are minimal. His connection to his wife is falling apart.

    Conclusion: watching not recommended.
  • "Hold" is a realistic journey into the lives of a married couple (played by a tormented Robby Storey and Stephanie Rhodes) dealing with sexual assault. The film is shot with a series of uninterrupted takes or 'plan sequence' that boldly forces the audience to live through the trials facing it's main characters. This stylistic approach seamlessly adds to the tension and despair of an already sensitive subject matter. Yes... the director Frank Mosley does this on purpose. The result? "Hold" is an accomplished and poignant look at the reclaiming of life after rape... and rape after marriage...

It is in rare form to see a movie that shows the whole truth about a subject. For a woman, being raped is something we are scared of happening to us every time we are alone. Being a woman myself I can understand the pain felt by a rape victim. But what happens to the life of our loved ones? Frank Mosley & Robby Storey wrote a one of a kind story about the reality of rape. Not just that of the victim but of all the people who end up hurt. What happens to the marriage of a rape victim? How does a husband try to help his wife who feels helpless? Can love be enough in the end? Three cheers to their honest answers on a horrible experience. A fabulous male perspective on a female crime.
