PASSING THE TORCH is a decent little documentary that shows nice style. It's the story of a man who has been a gymnastics coach for many years and has a genuine love for the sport. In addition, the film makers talked about the guy's brain tumor and personal ups and downs--using some recreations to dramatize the events. Overall, he came off very well and seemed like a nice fellow, though the film suffers a bit from "hero inundation", as there are a lot of films out there with similar themes of nice guys overcoming hardships. Because of that, this film might get lost among the other films. Still, for a young film maker, they should be proud of the work they did assembling this tribute film. Well made and inspiring.
