Wonderworld is inspired by both the movie Westworld and the TV series Fantasy Island. The idea of a themed park inhabited by robots who cannot harm the guests is clearly based on Delos from Westworld. Wonderworld's Latino host Mr. Marino is clearly inspired by Mr. Roarke from Fantasy Island as well as the guest's choice of fantasy to live out.
Goofs
When the Night Ghoul is unmasked, Velma mentions one of the clues was the fact that the culprit had earlier specifically mentioned the theft of the crown jewels - something he should not have known about. However, no such thing was mentioned by him in the scene in question.
