  • Terrible acting. No real plot. Definitely a B film. Shot on iPhone?
  • Warning: Spoilers
Darryl (Ruben Crow) is a successful London hedge fund operator. He has a villa in Andalucia, Spain and a beautiful Spanish woman as a fiancee. Unfortunately Janine, his fiancee, is a Black Widow who leaves her boyfriends for dead. Darryl is no exception.

That is the dark comedy in a nutshell. Janine tries to kill Darryl, who doesn't really believe the reality of the situation. This was a good idea for a short feature, but it failed to make 90 minutes and there were too many scenes that dragged on beyond the punch line.

    Guide: F-word, sex, partial nudity.
  • As a photographer, I tend to pay attention to framing, lighting, composition, etc... From that point of view, nearly every scene in this movie is a work of art.

Beyond that, well, I was taught if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

I kept thinking this would be the perfect movie to play on a huge TV during a party- very cool visually but nothing to distract people from doing tequila shots from a stripper's navel..
  • After Revenge, another male bashing movie joins the list: "The honey killer is a movie where the women just have sex with her dates and then proceeds to hurt them in whatever physical ways she deems physically possible. There is no actual plot, there is no actual character development, just smashing men for no real purpose.
  • Tried to jump on Guy Richie's style with narration and music. Unfortunately fell short due to lack of story and extended scenes of boredom.

Wished I hadn't bothered to watch it.
  • A friend of mine told me about this film. He recommended it because it was totally different from a big studio movie (we both support indie film makers). I really enjoyed it! It's fast, funny and sexy, with a great look and some cracking tunes! Made me want to go to Spain! Although not with Janine!

I was a little worried after reading the other reviews of this film. Ofc its a "bad" movie, mostly all movies with same person as director, writer and producer are bad.

BUT Richard Harrison has made a funny story, he matching the actors to the story and the result is much better than I expected. And where did you find Chen Shilony? We surely want more of here..

There are lots of drama, some action and even "some really good" comedy. Its brittish comedy so actually most people thinks its crap, but I laughed more than one time.

And the really good thing is that there are no crappy CGI here to get annoyed about :)

All in all a well made B class movie.

    Seven thumbs up
  • Considering it was made for measly $30,000, the directors ambition shines through - with it's Tarantino-esque soundtrack, British charm, stunning locations and one of the hottest undiscovered actresses out there. The Honey Killer is a resourceful and ingenious nod to early Peter Jackson and Robert Rodriguez movies, hopefully inspiring other young directors to get out there!
  • The "Honey Killer" film directed by Richard Harrison is an unexpected twist for me. Was the plot inspired by real events? The stars: gorgeous Chen Shilony (Janine) and Ruben Crow (Darryl) make a great chemistry together. The music part by Symon James, Marc Parnell and David Hockley undoubtedly complements the scenes. Considering the tight budget, you can really see the effort, creativity and passion of the creators put into the film. Well done to everyone who worked so hard on it! Congrats Richard Harrison, Laurie Crowter and the whole team! Looking forward to a new exciting chapter on your journey!
  • "The Honey Killer" was a funny, exciting movie. I was highly entertained. It had one of the best opening scenes that I've seen in a film. The dialogue was funny and written well. The acting was great. The production quality was excellent. It's a micro-budget movie, but it looks like a bigger budget movie that was made by a studio or production company. There were surprises throughout the film that I didn't see coming. Great job, Richard, cast, and crew.
  • It's got funny moments, it's got unexpected moments, it's got shocking moments. It's very entertaining and it was made for a budget that would make Cuban producers snigger.

The cast is compelling and the visuals of the film are strong. I'm itching to know what's next in the director's pipeline.
  • Stumbled across this on Amazon. Expectations were low, but found it it to be funny, charming, surprising and original. Some snappy dialogue and loved the cinematography of the opening scene. If you want a low budget, dark comedy with a twist check it out...
  • Richard Harrison does a bang up job, considering the tight budget and short filming schedule. The acting is good, soundtrack is intetesting and storeyline holds your interest. I am looking forward to a remake of the general plot. Rumors have been surfacing for next year shoor. Hats off to a talented filmmaker. Cheers, Ron Carr
  • For a film that was produced on a micro-budget it smashes out of the water some bigger budget films with well know actors and million dollar budgets. The Honey Killer draws on film noir themes and is Tarrantinoesque in its use of sex & violence while making the most of visually arresting Andalusian backdrops.

Considering the constraints on the film maker and the fact that this became an underground hit and was pirated in 9 difference languages speaks volumes.

Ignore the negative reviews and enjoy an entertaining thriller which packs a punch!
  • Though made for a modest budget, The Honey Killer is a highly entertaining suspense yarn where the power of its story and the performances of its actors keeps you enthralled throughout.

Director/co-writer Richard Harrison, co-writer Laurie Crowter, plus Harrison's cast and crew clearly understand that it doesn't take millions of dollars, big stars or CGI to make a great movie. Rather, it takes imagination and originality to accomplish that task, and all involved in the production of The Honey Killer have done so in superb fashion.

Now more than ever, we definitely need to support indie filmmakers like Harrison and his peers. Through gripping action sequences, memorable acting and a brilliant plotline, The Honey Killer is an outstanding example of indie film at its best and most creative.
  • This title was a great find. Really enjoyed it, especially when my Sunday afternoon was going pretty bad. I wanted to cheer myself up with a comedy and this did it. What's not to love about this movie, there seems to be mixed reviews, some over the top with really bad ones and some really good ones. You can't please everyone with these types of films, but it certainly worked for me. If you want a bit of easy watching and some laughs, I highly recommend this title. Ignore some of the stupid silly reviews, you can tell they are just kids and immature, because some reviews are absolutely no help to someone who is looking to see whether they want to watch this film.
  • I simply loved this film. It is captivating and exciting from the beginning till the end. The shots are smashing and the plot is thrilling and contains lots of humor. Certainly a must!
  • Fast moving little film with some nice comic touches. The cast are good and believable and the opening shots set the tone for a short but quite thought provoking film. A bit reminiscent of some of the shots in Beast. However the final scene adds an unexpected twist and does make the whole film very memorable.
  • Considering this was clearly made on a micro budget I thought it did surprisingly well. Great movie for a fun watch. The writer / director has served up a script with a bunch of memorable lines. Beats some A listed films out there. I'd love to see what does next with a bit more funding
  • Cracking contained thriller/dark comedy in a cool, stunning location and featuring the most beautiful assassin this side of the med
  • Actually a very beautiful film with really unique scenes that stay with you. Yes, it's a low budget b-movie but it's incredible what Harrison has pulled together with a warmth and passion that you won't find on bigger budget films. Stunning locations, snappy dialogue and a satisfying story arc. Strikes me as an incredible achievement by a group of passionate film makers. Looking forward to seeing what they produce next,
  • Making an independent feature is no easy task but Richard Harrison pulls it off in this slick, stylish, black comedy thriller with a stellar performance from the lovely Chen Shilony. Invest in this journey, it's well worth your time....
