Following David O. Russell and Mike White's departures as director, Craig Gillespie stepped up to helm the project. He hired Marti Noxon to work on the screenplay. Gillespie left the film two months later.

Except for the first zombie-killing scene where Darcy wipes blood off his dagger, there is no blood on any of the weapons or their clothing after they slay the zombies.
After the first set of credits, a horde of zombies led by Wickham can be seen storming the house.
